DO NOT PURCHASE A VEHICLE FROM SUMMIT GMC IF YOU ARE AN OUT OF TOWN BUYER !! I purchased a used 2016 GMC from Summit 2 weeks ago. (Around Dec.2, 2020). I am not from Fort McMurray and was not real comfor OUT OF TOWN BUYER !! I purchased a used 2016 GMC from Summit 2 weeks ago. (Around Dec.2, 2020). I am not from Fort McMurray and was not real comfortable buying this truck only ever seeing it in pictures and talking to the salesperson. I’ve driven many of these very similar trucks and I knew exactly the kind of truck I was looking for. This truck looked great, so I inquired. After talking with the salesperson, I was assured that this truck was in Mint condition. I specifically asked if there were any dents, scratches, rust or anything on the body of the truck. I had the vehicle Carfax and the AMVIC mechanic fitness test and all looked good. I asked about the body of the vehicle several times and was very specific if there were any thing other than the typical wear and tear like some minor rock chips. I was again assured that there was nothing wrong with this truck and that it was in mint condition. I purchased the truck sight unseen and it was delivered to me early one morning. Right to my door which was nice. It was dirty from the delivery so at noon on that same day I washed the truck to check it out with my own eyes. I was very upset to see 2 decent sized chips on the doors. One on the driver door and one on the passenger door. Both the size of a dime and down to the primer. I was also very disappointed to see that down the driver side of the door, from the front of the front door to the back of the back door there were 3 or 4 decent scratches running at least 4 feet long. You can only see these scratches when it’s clean and if you are within 3 feet of the truck, but non the less this is exactly what I asked about and was told there was nothing wrong. One manager even told me that the truck was good when it left their shop and wondered if in the 4 hours that I had the truck, if something happened to it. I said oh ya, 2 decent rock chips, one on each side and a 4 foot scratch happened to me all in 4 hours when I drove it for 10 minutes in total. He said they never saw anything wrong with the truck. Then after talking to a higher manager, he admitted that they did notice these things but called it normal for a used truck. I disagreed but said even if it was normal in their eyes, those things should have been disclosed to me as I specifically asked about that. I gave them a chance to fix the truck. I took the truck to a local Edmonton GM dealership and got a quote to fix these issues. $2,600 to repaint the doors. I then asked about only power polishing the doors to get the scratches out. That cost is $425. I asked Summit to at least cover the power polishing cost and they would not do anything. They have told me that this amount of damage is normal wear and tear and that is should have been expected. They then said that our business is not a fit and that I should not shop there anymore. And I never will again and strongly recommend that no one does. They took advantage as I was an out of town buyer. More

DO NOT BUY FROM MIKE MAHONY. This salesman is a complete joke and was dishonest about the trucks condition and potentialy the service done to the truck. Was the worst vehicle purchase transaction I've ever joke and was dishonest about the trucks condition and potentialy the service done to the truck. Was the worst vehicle purchase transaction I've ever had and keep in mind I buy a new (although this one was used) truck every 2 years. With covid going on this was a used truck sale that went on over the phone with pictures. I asked him to make a detailed visual inspection of the truck and take pictures of anything that may be wrong with the truck or anything that I should see before driving several hrs to the dealership. Asked him to pretend it was a truck he was going to buy, don't show me the good but show me the bad. This truck being 3 years old I did expect to find some minor things wrong with it that would need attention. He sent me many pictures but only one picture of the bad explaining there was paint chip and told me the rest of the truck was "100% Mint" so I jumped on the deal after he agreed to fix the paint chip. Asked him to order me mud flaps to match the back which were installed and weather tech floor mats and to deliver them with the truck. We met in a town that was half way for both of us. When I was going over the truck. I found that there were large gobs of mud on the carpet on both the passenger and driver's side(new floor mats and mud flaps were not installed). Which was there from the windshield Installation apparently. Asked him if that's how he delivers a truck to a new costumer!? He didn't really have an asnwer. I found the tail pipe to be bent as if someone backed into something. They removed some of the 3M from the front of the truck without telling me. The front bumber was clearly bent and cracked. Also the outside of the truck was not detailed and had iron specs and tar specs all over the truck. I asked him why he didn't take pictures of all that and he said that he didn't see any of it. When I sat in the truck, I noticed that the oil life was not reset. I was told this truck had a full service prior to making a deal yet the salesman cannot find any record of this service but tells me it was done. I told him this truck is NOT 100% mint and I was walking out on this deal unless he makes it right. He called his boss and he said that they would fix everything and to get quotes to them asap. I decided to take the truck since they were going to make it all right. Once I got home I realized that the mud flaps he sent were not the same as the back and the floor mats were not weather tech. At this point I had a chat with the general manager and then the sales manager Mike Duncombe he made it right by paying for the truck to get detailed, carpets steam cleaned, new exhaust tip, new 3M and spent $985.00 on the front bumper. He was going to get weather techs and proper mud flaps sent to me and also comped me 2 oil changes for my troubles. Then I ran out of DEF after 1500km of highway driving not pulling anything. Strange how this shouldve been topped up during the service i was told was done but yet they can't find a record of it. Fast forward 33 days (today, a Wednesday) I havent received my mud flaps or weather techs yet, the salesman tells me he is going to ship them out on friday, when I talked to him 9 days earlier and they were on his desk I told him that they need to be sent out asap. The sales manager Mike Duncombe told me this is not how they do busniess, he was going to have a serious talk with Mr.Mahony and tried to make it right but I am completely dissapointed and Summit should be embarrassed Maybe I shouldn't have bought a truck from a dealer this far away, covid or not. Maybe I shouldnt have let them make it right after viewing the truck. Maybe I shouldve returned the truck. I was just going off the word of a shady salesman and then the word of a solid sales manager. I'd reccomend buying a vehicle from any other dealer than Summit GMC. Such a poor transaction on many levels. UPDATE: it's now been 7 weeks and still no mats or mudflaps. Have left 3 messages for the sales Manager and 3 for the General Manager, neither have replied. Been waiting for a month now from Financing Department decision, if not approved let us know as soon as possible in your convenience! And we can move on to other dealerships esp. Edmonton area. Asking $10 decision, if not approved let us know as soon as possible in your convenience! And we can move on to other dealerships esp. Edmonton area. Asking $10,000 downpayment and we got it ready 2 weeks ago,but having a hard time and difficulty in our application for In-House Financing which we didn’t experience with the Old Management. After a failed service appointment was contacted by a Leslie Strome and told to call her any time I required service again. Keep in mind this was the 3rd service appointment that was terrible. Called and Leslie Strome and told to call her any time I required service again. Keep in mind this was the 3rd service appointment that was terrible. Called and was forwarded to Leslie 3 time each time no answer and no returned call after leaving messages. Truck was in for a service at the end of April and I complained of a ticking noise. Had a multipoint vehicle inspection done and yet they tell me there is no issue. A week later it gets even worse. So I dig in and find the issue. Never felt like a dealer cared less than this one. Asked to speak to service manager and was put on a line that effectively ended the call. More
Cary quite honestly went way above and beyond for us. He is much more than your average “used car salesman”. We were unsure what to expect dealing with someone long distance but we were pleasantly surprise is much more than your average “used car salesman”. We were unsure what to expect dealing with someone long distance but we were pleasantly surprised. He is more concerned about the clients happiness than the sale itself. Highly recommend A+. More
I call for oil change, 2 vehicles ahead, still waiting 55 minutes later. Slow, see staff walking around inside. Last time I come here, receptionist said about 30 minute wait, after waiting 15. We would like to commend Steven Crocker for really stepping up to help is out after a few hiccups with our newly purchased vehicles. We were initially a little upset with the issues that arose but St stepping up to help is out after a few hiccups with our newly purchased vehicles. We were initially a little upset with the issues that arose but Steven and Trevor both stepped up and made things right. A little goes a long way and we will continue to support this local dealership. More
