New car purchase nightmare March 2015 We went in knowing we were after a 2015 Cmax hybrid with two add-ons - rear camera and fob controlled back door lift. Looking for up to $30,000 Gr We went in knowing we were after a 2015 Cmax hybrid with two add-ons - rear camera and fob controlled back door lift. Looking for up to $30,000 Great trade-in - 2010 Camry Hybrid just under 40.000 kms. 6 hours ( break in the middle ) of misleading info - Sales Manager all smiles announces Ford's 2.49% financing just announced that morning (it was on offer for days before we went in and was a deciding factor in the timing of the purchase timing and a delivery allowance of $1,250 - also NOT new this morning!!! We did our research on the Ford site!! Also, The Sales manager checked for a lien on the tradein and we couldn't believe it but there was a lien of "about" $20,000 so the payments would be over $600/month. Our car was a cash purchase. So off he went to check again and came back in all smiles We were supposed to jump right in since the payment was only about $400 now. We were onto that one too but carried on to our regret. No sticker on the window. We asked the ticket price while on the demo drive and were told it it was #33,399 with all the bells and whistles - GPS/self parking ...... We told them it was too much and that we weren't interested in all the tech add ons. and weren't going to pay for them. While on the demo drive, the salesman told us the Manager was "very eager to sell" so make an offer ..... As an incentive, the manager with the salesman in attendance told us a number of times he would give us the add ons we didn't want for free - $3000 worth. He finished by telling us he would pay the $1000 deposit. We were now in price range. Both repeated what the other said as incentive and the salesman told us how nice we were compared to other buyers and... It was all so rehearsed and predictable. We knew the pattern but we were at the price and said we would take the car. The best was when were seated in the comfy seats in the flyer and the salesman came in with a form on which he had calculaated how lucky it was we were trading the Camry in now as opposed to next year - we wouldn't need tires, new brakes blabla. But there was less than 40,000 on the 2010 Camry - we drive it aroung town or fro short trips and it had just been in for its checkup/tune ... and was in perfect condition. Preparation for a lower tradein value based on false premises - it's the mileage of the car that dictates possible future expenses - not the year in most cases. During the financing part where we expect the banker to turn the documents for us to see and he would go down and read each $ amount and make sure we understood it before we signed. NOT - he read all the numbers out ... Last item - " Has the salesperson or sales manager made any promise about this vehicle that is not written on the bill of sale?" We asked what that meant - oh - free cooler or something like that. We said NO . Suburban Motors has an A+ BBB rating and we trusted that. We had allowed ourselves to get so fatigued we just wanted to sign and go home. We have been dealing with BBB. We should have walked after half an hour - the signs were there. Great car! But they haven't even bothered to phone and see if all is well ... Now that's a first! Conclusion - please see badcarday201 More
Honest Service Dept Stopped at Suburban dealership with no appointment for advice on my Ford Explorer Tire Pressure Sensor... Rob Cavaghan in Service who didn't know me Stopped at Suburban dealership with no appointment for advice on my Ford Explorer Tire Pressure Sensor... Rob Cavaghan in Service who didn't know me from Adam had my issue fixed in seconds (literally) A tech jumped out and reset the annoying dash-light that had been blinking for months and sent me on my way with in 60 SECONDS and did not charge me a dime! -Now that's service!! You have a new customer for life now... Thanks Rob Cavaghan, and Suburban Motors, Victoria.. Note: obviously most repair issues involve payment, this just happen to be one of those issues that "could be waived", and it's little things like that that say so much about a service bay. More

I ruptured a brake line on a Friday while boarding the fery from Port Angeles to Victoria. I had my car towed to Surburban Ford after hour that Night. Surburban's repair shop was open on Saturday with limited staff but were totally booked. They worked me in and found the problem but a now brake hose was not readly available. On Monday morning they located a local local firm that made/repaired brake hoses and rapidly arranged for my repair to accomplished. I was repaired and on my way with time to spare to catch the return ferry that afternoon. There service advisor Chris Kruse was very helpful in solving my problem in a very timely manner. I said it was fine and Brought the car in for an insurance claim to repair a door, they told me that it would be a couple weeks to fix as it was busy. I said it was fine and they lent me a loaner car. The car was fixed in a reasonable amount of time except when I drove it off the lot the car stalled as soon as I stopped at a red light(I thought the car was just cold as it had not been driven for a couple weeks, this was a MISTAKE I should have brought it right back). Called the next day telling them my car had been stalling when it was stopped and they told me I had to wait until Monday until I could speak with the manager. Called Monday but they said that the issue had nothing to do with the work they did. I went in to see if they could double check their work to make sure that they didn't mess anything up. Every time I spoke to the manager he said that the things they fixed on the car and the issues I was having were separate. After about 20 minutes of asking for help the manager reluctantly sent out a technician to look at the car to do a test drive, which he said wouldn't help at all. The technician used the computer to check what was wrong with the car and an error code showed up. The technician had no idea what it was. I personally called another car dealership and asked what could cause this code, they said that the fullthrottle would have to be cleaned and reset; a normal procedure after having the battery removed. I asked the manager if they would have removed the battery and he said "not likely", after asking his technicians he said that they may have removed the battery. In the end they sent me to the other dealership and paid to reset the fullthrottle. I was not impressed with their lack of enthusiasm to help and saying that the work they did wouldn't have caused the issue. More

We had done our research, and knew exactly what we wanted, as we had purchased numerous vehicles before. The young inexperienced salesman wanted to steer us through his (set-in-stone) sales process, but had disastrous results. He failed to listen to us. He even asked for a SIN number and a birth date at one point (for a cash deal?). In the end, we couldn't come to a deal - not because we didn't settle on a number, but because we couldn't GET a number (price). We ended up walking out – after having to hunt down the keys to our own vehicle (trade-in). The manager was particularly rude, and we did not have an amicable parting, which was very out-of-character for us. The salesman and manager were arrogant enough to stand outside and wave at us as we drove off. More

The car had relatively high mileage but otherwise appeared in reasonable condition available at a tolerable, if not good, price. The mileage was explained away as "An Australian purchased the car from us to explore the country. He did a lot of driving for just a few weeks, and then we bought it back from him." Right. A few days after taking delivery of the car we discovered a small sticker on the door jamb identifying the vehicle as having been part of the National Car Rental fleet. Draw your own conclusions... Subsequently, our experience with the service department proved that their appointment system is completely useless. What's the purpose of making an 11 a.m. appointment for a one-hour simple oil change and minor inspection when you discover at 2 p.m. (without being notified) that it hasn't even entered the shop yet? No wonder the 20-minute lube shops are cleaning up! When they realized the distress they caused, the service was made complimentary but they've seen the last of us. More
Will sell a car at all cost (to you) I had leased a Ford Focus from Suburban Motors nearly three years ago. I knew then that I was eventually moving back to the States. In April of this I had leased a Ford Focus from Suburban Motors nearly three years ago. I knew then that I was eventually moving back to the States. In April of this year, I discovered that I would be moving back to the States a few months early. I went into Suburban Motors asking what options we had to end the lease early. I was told by the Sales manager that they could buy the car back and that I could BUY a car and have it financed in spite of the fact that I was moving to the States. I was surprised, but they assured me that it could be done. After spending the day at the dealership, it turned out that Ford Credit said that it could not be done. I thought well they tried. However, the Suburban Motors Finance department said that they made calls and found that Scotia Bank would finance the car in spite my move. Therefore, I purchased the car.A month later, I moved to the Boston area. Turns out that I could not register the car without the title. I called Scotia Bank to talk about the title. They said that I was NOT authorized to take the car to the States with me and they were revoking the financing. I called Suburban Motors and talked to the Finance manager and he said that it was not their problem. I called Ford Canada and they said it was not their problem that it was up to Suburban Motors to handle the issue. I now have a care that I can not refinance through Ford Credit and that I can not register in Massachusetts. Nobody with Ford or Suburban Motors will help me. I was upfront with them. They new my plan. They either didn't know what they were doing, or, more likely, made the sale in a fraudulent manner. More
Worst Service Centre EVER!!! Don't waste your time or money Dropped off our Diesel Ford Truck for service, 3 days later called to find out when it would be ready and they had not even begun to work on it. Gave Dropped off our Diesel Ford Truck for service, 3 days later called to find out when it would be ready and they had not even begun to work on it. Gave us a BS answer about having it done by end of day. We showed up to take our vehicle back and they wanted to charge us 1800.00 for service! Claimed they had done the fluids and that it was leaking when we brought it in, but our parking spot at home and at work show no signs of leakage - LIARS! They scammed us for $1400.00 as they wouldn't let us take our truck without payment for work they claim they did. We are not stupid - it was obvious they didn't do anything but string us along. Do Not Waste Your hard earned money or your time dealing with this service centre. They lie, cheat and steal! More
Misrepresented the vehicle purchased. Walking in there looking for a 4*4 truck ended up driving with one that wasn't I'm sure at the price I paid it should have had it. I confronted the manager a few days looking for a 4*4 truck ended up driving with one that wasn't I'm sure at the price I paid it should have had it. I confronted the manager a few days later told me he was sorry nothing he can do. 6 months later they offered to buy the truck back as a trade in for the one I originally intended on getting. Told me I would get deal for the mistake. You tell me if this is a deal and I have original signed contract to prove it. Differed balance owing for purchasing one new 2011 Ford ranger 4*4 at $501.00 for 83 months.if this does scream consumer protection I will jump off a bridge. I could have bought f250 model at that price.I am outraged. Tyler More
