I have been going to this dealership for 30+ years. I'm still driving the car I bought there 23 years ago with 485+K and they've done all the major servicing. The engine and transmission are still in I'm still driving the car I bought there 23 years ago with 485+K and they've done all the major servicing. The engine and transmission are still in good shape. When it comes to service and reliability, that record speaks for both the quality of the dealership's service department from 1990 to about 2022 and the vehicle. Five stars for that. 26 October 2024: In my opinion, the mechanics there are competent, but I have no respect for the current sales department management and don't think much of the current service department front end staff, some of whom seem to think the customer is now responsible for ordering their own parts. My partner was interested in purchasing a new Subaru. We thought things were going well; we test drove the models we were interested in, took the time to compare the specs, got an initial estimate of the vehicle's cost, made an appointment for a trade-in appraisal and returned the day after the appraisal. First warning: the sales department failed to communicate with the service department and the 9:00 appointment I made for the vehicle appraisal was basically cancelled, to be replaced with an estimate of the amount we "might" get and the promise that this wouldn't happen again. It was pretty much unnecessary because they have 15 years of service records on that vehicle and a walkaround and a drive through the parking lot should have sufficed, but whatever. My time is unimportant, apparently. We were in the middle of negotiations with a salesperson who had to seek an answer for almost every question we had from either the finance manager or the sales manager. We were actually going to make a purchase and went out to take a final look at the one available car. We were not sure on one issue, and that was the colour of the car. Not a big deal, except that when you're spending $50K on a new car, you can surely get what you want. Our alternatives were, apparently, take this one or wait months, and we've seen from other one-star reviews that their promises of delivery five months in the future can evaporate. All we took was 15 minutes to have that conversation and were ready to buy. When we returned, the salesperson told us it had just been sold. We feel for her, as she did do her best to get us the information we needed. She lost a sale due to the unfair and dishonourable conduct of her sales and finance managers when they made the conscious decision not to notify us that there was someone else in the dealership interested in the same vehicle. One wouldn't look at me when I confronted them in the sales office, and the other said "Well, you told us you didn't like the colour, so what are we supposed to do?" Buddy, you knew what you were supposed to do; you were at the salesperson's desk when we asked for a few minutes and you said to go ahead, and you knew at the time that another deal was in process, of course. We surely had earned at least that level of respect because of our definite overall interest in the vehicle and the fact that we had done in excess of $150K sales and service business over the years. But thanks, Eric and Philip, you helped us dodge a bullet as post-sales service and trade-in valuation seems to be an issue identified by other reviewers on Google Reviews. It'll be a long cold winter if you were actually truthful in saying your next delivery is five months out and all you have is overpriced trade-ins. More
Recently purchased a used Honda Civic. The car was driven 200 km and the dash lit up like a Christmas tree. Took it to the dealership and then had to take the car to a Honda dealership because they couldn’t fix the problem. Needless to say $5000 in additional damage that was not found on the AMVIC inspection prior to purchase. Communication has been absolutely horrendous and still has yet to be resolved. After speaking with the salesperson, service manager, and sales manager, nothing has been resolved. It has been 6 weeks since I purchased the vehicle and 4 weeks of nothing but headache since. Would definitely not recommend this dealership! Shady business practice and customer service. More
Whats worse than buying a used car and having it break down 2 days later? Trying to deal with Philip Young and his constant lies and fake promises. You'd think perhaps a dealership might stand behind thei down 2 days later? Trying to deal with Philip Young and his constant lies and fake promises. You'd think perhaps a dealership might stand behind their products, new or used but sadly once they have your money be prepared for constant avoidance. Do not trust Philip and anything that comes out of his mouth. Truly a poster child of a typical car sales manager. More
Purchased a used car for my out of province niece (effecitvel her 1st) from Douglas Bodtcher. The man is everything a professional sales person should be. Listened, extremely helpful and not at al (effecitvel her 1st) from Douglas Bodtcher. The man is everything a professional sales person should be. Listened, extremely helpful and not at all pushy. When my nice arrived about a month later I was away on business. She was having trouble getting the manual in to "first" and feeling very uncomfortable about driving as a result. Again this was effectively her 1st car and largest purchase she has ever made in her life .... you can imagine the stress. I suspected that the only other car she ever drove was a beater diesel manual told her to go see Doug for some tips. A month after the "Sale" Doug helped her out (it was all her technique) and she loves the car! Just one example in the purchase process that Doug was fantastic! More
Went in for a simple diagnostic review as my dash occasionally lights up like a Christmas tree. Told a quick diagnostic test to determine if the system generated error codes would reveal the issue. occasionally lights up like a Christmas tree. Told a quick diagnostic test to determine if the system generated error codes would reveal the issue. Booked a 9;30am appt. Arrived at 9:15 and was told 2 hrs. After 2 hours my car is still in the parking lot. Now told it would be 1:00 (maybe) before it would be looked at. Why do dealers book appointments if it's going to be and all day affair (for a simple test). I was offered a ride anywhere but didn't expect to waste the day. I would not be so upset if they had indicated that I would need to bring it in for the day in the first place. Not impressed and left the dealership without it being looked at. I use the principle that if you are unhappy with the service don't reward the bad service. No wonder backyard mechanics are so busy. More
Samara Davidson and Nicholas Satora were very helpful and listened to what we wanted. They looked through their inventory and helped looking to fill out wants and needs. Subaru City staff were incredible. Two other dealerships we visited were not busy at all and had no discernable interest in selling but they obviously wanted our trade-in very much. Su Two other dealerships we visited were not busy at all and had no discernable interest in selling but they obviously wanted our trade-in very much. Subaru City staff ensured we had all the relevant facts and costs and they had lots of cars to sell which was not the case elsewhere. It was an enjoyable experience. The one downside was the winter tires we had to buy but will likely never use. This is our fourth Subaru and every one has been perfectly reliable with great stability and performance I have no problem recommending Subaru City. It seems to be the best, and busiest dealership in Edmonton. More

He is very friendly and attentive with a professional demeanor. I could tell he was an honest young man. He listened to what I wanted and showed me several vehicles and answered all of my questions. I am a senior citizen and he was excellent at explaining all of the gadgets and safety features. I went for a test drive in a Crosstrek and it was fantastic. We talked price and Luka tried to get me the best price possible. Unfortunately, it was a bit over the budget I had in mind to spend on a new vehicle. Luka encouraged me but did not pressure me. I told him I would think about it and that I was also looking at a similar size vehicle in another brand and wanted to compare. Luka followed up with me regularly to see if he could help or answer any questions. I ended up buying the other vehicle simply because I got a good deal and it was within the budget I had set. Plus, it is closer to my home. I actually felt bad because Luca had been amazing to deal with and I wish him the best of luck in his career. If you want a knowledgeable, patient, smart and honest sales consultant, ask for Luka. More
Great to deal with until you have an issue, then watch out. Recently we dropped off our vehicle for servicing, and when we picked it up there was a large dent on the passenger door. They would NOT assum out. Recently we dropped off our vehicle for servicing, and when we picked it up there was a large dent on the passenger door. They would NOT assume any responsibility, and the service gal we dealt with was rude!!! Ended up coming out of our pocket to fix the damage. We will NEVER be using this dealership again!!!!! Our daughter was going to purchase an outback from them, but not anymore. She has gone elsewhere. More
