I wish that I could do a zero star, I just need to warn everyone of their horrible service. Sold me a car with no A/C, it wasn’t check before selling it to me in December, fair enough, but now are refusing everyone of their horrible service. Sold me a car with no A/C, it wasn’t check before selling it to me in December, fair enough, but now are refusing to fix it because it’s been over 6 months (by only a few weeks). While A/c might not be necessary to sell a car, this should have been disclosed, I will also add that I bought a 2020 Forester (for over $30 000) so you can imagine my surprise when the Ac didn’t work and Subaru city won’t do anything about that. On top of the my brake pads only have 2mm left, this was checked and signed off of when I bought it (due to Amvic regulations) they are telling me it’s my fault, and that I brake to hard and have worn them out. Incredibly rude accusation (Made by Camille in service). I have had many cars and never had to replace the brake pads before so wearing them out in 6 months seems insane. They are not diligent in their inspections, which is a huge safety concern, and on top of that are incredibly hard to get a hold of, I haven’t been able to speak with a sales manager of my original salesperson, getting a hold of service was a nightmare, I just kept being passed from one hold to the other. Phone called were left unreturned (specifically by sales manager Eric) They go out of their way to make me feel useless and like a waste of their time. Buying this car was a disaster in itself, I would never come back here, their financing department has also continuously wasted my time, not showing up to sceduled meetings etc . Have had fantastic experiences with Rally Subaru if you are looking for a Subaru dealership in Edmonton. Also just want to add, the told me I am responsible for what I buy, basically insinuating that they scammed me and it’s my fault for falling for it . I am unsure why there are dealerships dedicated to providing people with safe and reliable vehicles if it’s my responsibility to do all of that myself…. Again comment made by Camille in service More
On April 30, I purchased a Used 2014 Hyundai Accent SUV, suitable for me , an disabled Senior, hanging on to her indepenance . ! I wanted a bit of rust under the hatch window painted , and a rip on SUV, suitable for me , an disabled Senior, hanging on to her indepenance . ! I wanted a bit of rust under the hatch window painted , and a rip on the rt, front bumper be fixed , as it was loose , and flopping ... Spent 3 hours, there , with all the paperwork etc, and my young sales lady,, Andrea ,had to see her supervisor quite often, which which made me think she was 'in training' . I put a down payment , and would be back to get the vehicle when it was ready, She said Subaru City wouldn't fix the bumper because it was too expensive . I decided I would get it fixed myself .. I went back on May 8th. with a cerified cheque for the balalnce . and after a few misunderstandings , like my insurance wouldn't cover it because the bumper wasn't fixed properly; Subaru City found me insurance coverage with TD which is almost twice as expensive as what I had been paying for my old vehicle. June 1st I went for 3 hour road trip, and the next day coming , a YELLOW warning symbol showed up on my dash . At least it wasn't red ! Not knowing what it meant ( I didn't get an operator's manual ), I drove it to the next auto dealership,on my way home , and asked if they could tell me if I could continue 2 hours , to get home . They did a diagnostic test , and the nightmare started . !. The Catalystic System , and 2 02 sensors need to be removed and replaced. ! I had had possession for only 25 days ! Isn't there at least a one month warranty???? The problem is the Catalystic converter that needs to be replaced , and 02 Sensors .. The Mechanical Assessment was done ,but the EXHAUST was checked off as compliant , by Sorates.cse Villaherose.. Subaru City did their own diagnostic test ; showed me a sheet of paper ( no report, with a price of way over $3200-3,000 to cover the Cat , but no mention of the 02 sensors . Philip has been promising , over , and over . that he has been trying to help me . He is offering to cover the cost of the sensors , and the CAT will cost me $ 2500.... I love my little SUV , but very disappointed in my dealings with Subaru City. They took advantage of an old disabled lady. . I paid cash , for this vehicle . Paris was quite helpful in getting Philip to call me when I needed to talk to him, not that it did any good . I wanted to believe in him ....no more ........ More
Yes I had a bad experience with the dealership. I have waited a couple of weeks post this review so I cooled off and don’t say anything rash. In September 2024 I visited Subaru City with the hope I have waited a couple of weeks post this review so I cooled off and don’t say anything rash. In September 2024 I visited Subaru City with the hope of purchasing a new car. After some discussion I realized there were no 2024 models left and I would be purchasing a new 2025 model. I spent some time chatting and a mutually agreeable deal was worked out, I was ready to buy a car. With the options I wanted I was told the car would have to be ordered from the factory. The time line given was 4 to 6 months. I was fine with that. Both parties then signed a contract and I paid the deposit. I left happy thinking I would soon enough have a new vehicle. After 4 months had elapsed I phoned the sales person and asked if they had received any word on a delivery date. The answer was not yet. After 5 and after 6 months the process was repeated. There was still no word on the expectant car. We were about to leave for an extended holiday so I phoned again just before we left and was assured that if the car arrived when we were away it would not be sold and would be at the dealership when we returned. When we got home there was no message waiting informing me the car had arrived. So 8 months after ordering the car I phoned once more to see if there was any word on a proposed arrival date. This time I was set back a little. The word was they could not fulfil the order BUT if I came in they would see what they could do for me. A meeting was set and two days later I was sitting in the office expecting to have to take a car that was on site. Probably not to my spec but at least the model of the car I had ordered. The salesman disappeared to talk to the manager and he came back to me with a proposal that was $5000 more than the contract offer both parties had signed 8 months earlier. I explained that it was the dealership messed things up, I upheld my end of the bargain and they have to at least match the contract price but frankly I expected to have to pay less. The end of the story is I left with my deposit repaid. There was no interest added, a legal obligation when holding a deposit for any length of time. I’m not sure about this part but talking to another car salesperson I was told it is a bait and switch kind of game. First you are given a very good price, and then told the specific car would have to be ordered. Later you are informed the order cannot be fulfilled and the price has gone up so in order to get any car you will have to pay $5000 more. I will not cross the threshold of a company that treats it potential customers as described above. Not honouring a contract is very poor business practice. If you are intending to deal with Subaru City be very leery of what is proposed. Keep your head up and avoid the disappointment I have endured. More

I really appreciate the customer centric expert I received from her. Infact I told her that as soon I am ready to finance a new car that I would do it with Subaru because of her treat. Dealt with Eric Yuen (sales manager) when I went there to buy a new forester - not transparent at all and quoted me $10 000 more than another dealership. Be very skeptical of the numbers they give you. They buy a new forester - not transparent at all and quoted me $10 000 more than another dealership. Be very skeptical of the numbers they give you. They try to drive up the price as much as they can. They will tell you they are giving you a deal by giving you a bunch a warranty’s in replacement of their dealership fee when in reality it is 2.5x the dealership fee, which is also usually already included in their MRSP. Also added on winter tires when they are pricing it out and quoted $2200 that would otherwise be $1500 on their website. More

An maintenance. Based on my description of problems I was given an estimate of up to $1500.00 to repair and I signed the work order based on thqt. An hour later Garth phoned to let me know that diagnostics and the repair tech had changed that to $500.00. Subaru could have told me the initial estimate was correct and I may never have been the wiser. I have dealt with Subaru City since 2019. They have always provided good service. I Bought the Forrester in 2019 so its not like they see me as a yearly repeat. My next vehicle will likely come from Subaru city also. Check me off as a happy and satisfied customer More
