I recently purchased a used car here. There's a few things that were quite disappointing. We first found the car on the website. Used the website to get an approx trade in value, then co There's a few things that were quite disappointing. We first found the car on the website. Used the website to get an approx trade in value, then contacted the dealer. We received a text back right away to set up an appt for later that day. Discussed the vehicle, got an appraisal that was almost half of what the website said for the trade. 😕 Declined a trade in and decided to proceed with a financing application. 2 additional items were discussed before the offer to purchase at a cost of $399 & $699. I can't remember exactly what they were for but we had decided on the $399 option. I went to the financing dept to complete the application, Then left for home. Financing was approved the next day and I got a ride in to complete the paperwork. Neither the origjnal sales or financing people were in that day. The new financer went through the spiel of all the extras we could get, including an extended warranty etc. We discussed that we don't usually get the extra warranty because Honda has always been an excellent product that we've trusted for years. Unfortunately, my husband was gone to work and because he was unreachable, the lady said that we could sign up for the warranty and if after discussing it with my husband, we had 30 days to cancel it, no questions asked. Ok, I agreed. They proceeded to complete the contract and we quickly ran through it to sign and initial everything. I did not get an opportunity to read through it as we were signing. The day turned into a long one, and I finally got home in the evening. I read through the contract that night and noticed immediately that there were items on there that I did not recall agreeing on. I also had a chance to talk to the hubby and we agreed that the warranty shouldn't be necessary, as we have faith in Honda. I called Lana right away and she said that she could not cancel the warranty until it was filed with Honda. First she said 1 day, then 3 days, then at the beginning on the following month ( a week or so) I said ok, I have 30 days, no problem. After a few days we noticed a few minor issues with the car, I called service and booked it in for the following week. (FEB 7) The service dept was great, easy to deal with, took care of the issues, one being a recall ( parts ordered) the other being a warranty item through Honda tech line ( brake booster) I naively believed that the warranty would be covered by the dealership being that I had just purchased this vehicle and was verbally told that they would stand behind their product and if there was any issue they would take care of it ( which other Honda dealers have done in the past). After I picked up the car from service, I went to talk to Lana about getting the form to cancel the warranty policy and was told that if I cancelled it, I would have to pay for the repairs that the car was needing. 🤨 I said, if I had declined the warranty in the beginning, I would be stuck with a $3000 bill, 2 weeks after I purchased a car from them with only 26000km on it?? I was told yes and to discuss it with service. In conclusion, parts is great. Service was courteous and fast. The sales dept has so many people involved and what seems to be a lack of communication and /or they are intentionally deceitful. To top it off, I received a text yesterday from someone at the dealer asking if I was interested in trading in the car I was bringing in for service. I said no, but I did have another car I was looking to sell. Gave all the details of the same car I brought in for trade in the week before and was offered a thousands more than the original offer 🤦‍♀️ More
