Since late 2012 we have made great strides in building an awesome team to better serve our customers. We do not like hearing about situations like yours, as customer service is extremely important to us here at Southtown Hyundai. As we all know, nobody is perfect and we do make mistakes. However, we would love the opportunity to rectify the situation. It is our objective to make everyone feel welcome and that their experience is satisfactory every time they visit with us. We do apologize that you feel as though we were negligent. But, at this time we cannot dig any deeper into your previous files as we do not have your identification on any review that you have completed. Gary, both of these incidents occurred prior to 2012. In fact, I spoke with you at length regarding my frustration when my keys were lost and the services not performed while it was trusted in your care, and at that time you asked that we "start fresh" as you were working to make positive changes with the service department. To this I onliged and even brought the car to Southtowns service department for an oil change and final check prior to taking it on a business trip. While on that trip the vehicles check engine light came on and the car went into what the dealership called safe mode somewhere on the highwY between kamloops and vancouver. I'm sure you can imagine how impressed I was to learn that after taking it to the nearest dealership and leaving it in their care for days to have the valves soaked and cleaned, that this issue is a known issue, that hyundai has released a bulletin on the matter and it is easily prevented by adding an additive to the tank upon every service interval, and that judging by the mess that they cleaned out of there, this had never been done, because of this (the fact that maintenance had been neglected-Funny since my vehicle has always and only been serviced by Southtown Hyundai.) I very nearly had to pay for the repairs to the vehicle in addition to the working time lost by having it in the shop. The whole reason I pay to have my vehicle serviced by a hyundai dealership is so that it is properly cared for and these issues are taken care of as per proper procedure outlined by hyundai. In fact, the reason I purchased a me w vehicle in the first place was largely for reliability reasons so that I may do my work without concern of vehicle reliability issues. Southtowns negligence caused an unnecessary trip to the dealership for emergency repairs, an unscheduled stop, significant amounts of lost work time, lost clients on account of the missed appointments that took place while I was working to get the vehicle fixed. All of this because a nearly brand new vehicle with only 30,000 km on it failed due to the negligence of the dealership that was not only trusted but paid to service it correctly. Upon my return from this trip I called to speak to staff at Southtown regarding this incident and thier quality of service, what I've been paying for servicing for and this most recent breakdown- and was further brushed off and ignored by staff. To add insult to injury, just today the sales department contacted me to invite me to a "private sale" and when I explained my dissatisfaction with Southtown as a whole and that I would not spend further money there for such poor service I was simply hung up on. While I understand Southtown is in the business of making money, I would expect much better service all round, and to not have my issues flat out ignored. It is for these reasons, and the manner of service I recieved prior to Southtowns apparent reforms made in 2012 that I have rated the dealership as I have.

I was able to pull your file and, it does show that we did add the injection cleaner to your fuel tank on your Veloster at 12,000kms (June,15 2013). Service #3 (recommended at 24,000kms) would also have included the injection cleaner, but was declined by you . As I mentioned we would love to work with you not against you and I am very happy to hear that the carbon build up on the valves was warrantable. I do hope you have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
