TLTR: dealer failed to provide regular updates on factory ordered car, surprised us with unexpected costs, and worse broke off our agreement so they can sell the car for more once it arrived 7 months after o ordered car, surprised us with unexpected costs, and worse broke off our agreement so they can sell the car for more once it arrived 7 months after ordering. A car we needed so we can take our newborn baby home from hospital. Went to Sherwood park, got the same car (without waiting for months!) for less money and more value. Given the conditions of the car buying market in 2022, I wasn't expecting much, but my first car buying experience couldn't have gone any worse. This dealership delivered on all negative "car salesman" stereotypes and beyond. My wife and I factory ordered a Tiguan in March 2022 with Steven and that's where customer support stopped. It took multiple weeks to get a receipt of our order and a few months to actually get the purchasing agreement. It wasn't until July that we actually got the cost of the vehicle (which of course was different from what Steve had handwritten down for us). Long story short, we complained, Danny the sales manager was gracious and gave us a discount as long as I agreed on the purchasing agreement. Having wasted several months, we couldn't cut our losses and agreed. Fast forward to April, car arrives and we get a call from the finance department to finalize the paperwork. In the call they try to upsell additional services so instead we ask to remove one of the packages which was forced on us, they agree, and everyone is happy. Unfortunately for this dealership, doesn't seem like they want to provide good customer service, so instead of us driving away in our brand new car for which we've waited for months, Danny refuses to sell to us and cancels breaks the purchasing agreement we had signed off on. All in all huge waste of time and energy. More
Worst experience i have ever had with dealing with warranty from a company. They told me everything was fine with my vehicle up to the point my warranty is expired even though I had a sensor coming on warranty from a company. They told me everything was fine with my vehicle up to the point my warranty is expired even though I had a sensor coming on. Then a month after my warranty expires they tell me I should replace my entire sensor board due to faulty sensors and told me these sort of things just happen due to alberta winters. I felt completely scammed! More

I am really enjoying the car and S**** was great! That’s the end of the good comments unfortunately. Overall I consider my experience at this dealership terrible because of the finance man D****. That’s the end of the good comments unfortunately. Overall I consider my experience at this dealership terrible because of the finance man D****. Firstly, D informed me about the VW extended factory warranty which initially sounded great. He told me it included warranty for my fob in case I lost it or broke it. I asked how much all of this was going to cost. He did not want to tell me the exact number and tried brushing me off with “Your monthly payments won’t change”. I did finally get the number but it is very frustrating to have to fight for answers. My second grievance is about when I asked him if I was allowed to perform my own maintenance on the car, including oil changes. I explicitly asked if that would void the warranty and was told it absolutely would not. This is not true. I agreed to the warranty based on the assumption that was correct but when I read through the fine print on my warranty contract, it explicitly stated that if I even change my own oil, all my warranty is void. I also confirmed this with service department. Then I learned the info he told me about the fob warranty being included in the VW warranty was false. It’s through a third party and costs an additional $500. That cost was hidden under another line item called smart program. It is infuriating to agree to the VW and fob warranty for one price to learn the fob is not included and the bill is $500 more than expected. It is a similar story with the smart protection program. I was led to believe it was through the dealership and for any applicable chips, dings, and dents just to come in and it will be dealt with. However, it is through a third party, and you must arrange all appointments. It is not worth the $700. Another massive issue is with the financing itself. D**** said he checked all the banks for the best rate. He asked who I banked with, and I told him RBC. He said that RBC and TD were offering the same rate but asked if we could do TD because it’s a lot less paperwork. I agreed because I thought it might be because he gets more kickbacks from TD, and I did not mind because it was the same rate of 8.5%. I still trusted him to give me the best deal, so I did not question that high rate in the moment. However, after leaving the dealership, I decided to check RBC anyway out of curiosity, and they said they’d do a 6% interest rate. That is a significant financial impact, so I was very angry because I felt like D**** didn’t compare banks but just went with the easiest and more beneficial bank for him. Once I realized all the misinformation I was dealt, I had to cancel all the warranties, programs, and financing. It was easier for me to do my own financial sorting and write them a check. I understand finance guys push for upsells to get a commission, but I did not expect outright lies. He claimed to have worked this job for 10 years, so he was either straight up lying or has not yet properly learned the details of what he is trying to sell which is also very poor professionalism. I share my experience to hopefully prevent someone from ending up spending thousands of dollars more than necessary. There are better dealerships out there that won’t waste your time and money. More
This was the worst buying experience. I have talked to 3 different sales people for the last year and none of them followed up with me for a quote on a trade in. When I went in yesterday with my 5 year old different sales people for the last year and none of them followed up with me for a quote on a trade in. When I went in yesterday with my 5 year old daughter to inquire about a USED vehicle, they not only refused to negotiate but were EXTREMELY insulting treating me like I was stupid. They gave me an extremely unfair price both on my trade in and tried to charge me full blown new price on a used vehicle and made me wait 2 and a half hours while he prioritized other customers. He didn't even know the specs of the cars they were selling!! DO NOT come here to buy your car!! We ended up finding the exact same vehicle with 23000 LESS kms for $7900 less and was treated with WAY more respect!! Talk about being taken advantage of especially if you are a single mom! Go to Grand prairie Volkswagen!! More

Usually the thought of going to a dealership to buy a car evokes the same feeling as getting a tooth extracted, Painfull. Dan Heller was amazing to deal with. No pressure. And for me no anxiety.
