The long and the short of my experience with South Trail Hyundai: BUYER BEWARE The original review, unedited, is at the bottom of this post. The long and the short of my experience with South Trail Hyundai: 1) Traded vehicles in and bought a used car from South Trail Hyundai. The trade ins had loans on them as most cars today do. 2) Agreed on a value of the cars traded in. Was assured that the lienholders (the banks) for the trade-ins would be paid in full within a couple of business days. I paid South Trail Hyundai the difference between what was owed on the trade-ins and what they (South Trail) offered me. I paid this balance - nearly $8k - in cash. 3) South Trail didn't pay the banks. 4) Loan payments went out, payments were missed (the cars weren't mine/my responsibility anymore) I found out about the above when one of the banks called me asking why I was late on my payments. You can imagine my surprise. I immediately contacted the dealer. The new finance manager got right on it. The dealer manager - the same guy I was lauding originally - couldn't be bothered to show any interest, acknowledge their error, or even apologize. 0 post-sale service, especially considering this was an egregious error that is 100% on South Trail Hyundai. BUYER BEWARE. There are many dealers in Calgary, why shop here? More

They were very willing to work with me and my budget and figure something out that would work for me. Dealership itself is very nice, clean, quiet, bright and open, fantastic atmosphere. Tim (the salesperson) was fantastic, even having lost a cavity and dealing with I'm sure a very sore tooth he dealt with me very professionally and was very knowledgeable and wasn't afraid to admit it when he didn't know something. Trina (finance) was great as well, very friendly and helpful sorting out the financial side of things and delivery etc of my new vehicle! 10/10 would definitely go back. More

Our plan was to make a stop at Hyundai, check out their product and then go to Toyota because we have owned a Toyota vehicle for 11 years and intended to buy another. We spent a great afternoon at South Trail Hyundai, liked what we saw and heard, and ended up buying a Santa Fe SUV. We never did leave. First impressions...dealership was new, clean, bright and a convenient location to where we live. Every single employee we interacted with was very friendly and genuine... We were greeted immediately by the pleasant receptionist, and I appreciated that the person who brought me water was the young man who was speaking to the female receptionist. No obvious stereotypical behaviour here. No high pressure tactics from Sales personnel either. Joon our salesperson was very knowledgeable about his product, competitor’s products, and the industry. We enjoyed his sense of humour and that he came across as being very genuine. Mike, Sales Manager, was friendly, and willing to negotiate. Ravvy, Finance, was a nice guy and wrapped things up quickly and efficiently. We are impressed with Hyundai... excellent value for our money. This was actually the best experience we’ve ever had at any dealership. Also, Mike has just returned from vacation and was in on his day off. Joon also came in on his day off the next day to turn over the keys to us. That’s dedication! Good job everyone. More

We chose to go with South Trail Hyundai because we were greeted quickly and kindly as we walked in and they answered all of our questions, making us feel comfortable at all times. We greatly appreciated their support in the car buying process and are very happy with our decision to buy the 2018 Kona. Their manager was very kind and considerate. Furthermore, Alvin D. is an outstanding car salesman and walked us through every step of the process. We really appreciated his insight and made the car purchasing process a stress-free experience. Most importantly, we have no regrets, are extremely happy with our service and we would highly recommend anyone to go to this dealership. More

In addition to Lance we dealt with Holly the finance manager. She was also informative, friendly and not at all pushy. Both provided us with the information we needed for our new vehicle purchase without the usual sales game. It was a pleasure to deal with them both.
