Ariela was very professional. She was prompt in responding to my questions and follow up via phone and emails. She was very helpful in providing all options and explaining each one to me. She hel responding to my questions and follow up via phone and emails. She was very helpful in providing all options and explaining each one to me. She helped in finding the right car for me and made the process very simple. Closing the deal was efficient and avoided the hassle of going back and forth. The 2 concerns I have are the place needs renovation badly and the invoice process is not user friendly. I believe both concerns are not a reflection on Ariela's work More

Ariela was very friendly and professional. Negotiation was straight forward. There was some hiccup with pricing but that had nothing with Ariela and she promptly resolved the problem. It was time to replace my aging VW GTI VR6. I had test driven a Subaru Impreza back in 1997, but had opted for a new VW at that time. Obviously, when I find a car I like, I drive it for quite awhile. This driven a Subaru Impreza back in 1997, but had opted for a new VW at that time. Obviously, when I find a car I like, I drive it for quite awhile. This time, I was looking for quality and value that would match or exceed what I had experienced with my Vee-dub. After some preliminary research, I decided to shop again for a Subaru. When my wife asked me what I wanted to do on my birthday back in May, I said "Let's go shopping for the Soob!" As there wasn't anything available nearby in Whitby where we live, we visited a dealer in North Toronto, where I was unimpressed with the once-around-the-block test drive, the one-size-fits-all sales pitch, and the sales manager's general unresponsiveness. We then checked out a second dealership, but didn't see anything I liked. Richmond Hill Subaru seemed to have quite a good selection, so as a final effort for the day, we drove up to Richmond Hill. When we got there, I walked around the lot and sourced the vehicles that met my criteria. No one came out and bothered me, which is the way I like it. As I entered the dealership's front door, a young sales rep named Robert Ruffolo got up from behind his desk, walked toward me smiling in a friendly way, and extended his hand. His approach was warm yet very direct. No sales pitch. He was more concerned with finding out what I wanted and how he could help. When I identified the vehicle I liked, he was again direct. "Would you like to take it for a drive?" The test drive was one of the best I have been on. Robert was patient and helpful in explaining the functional features of the car, while suggesting a route which let me explore the vehicle's power and handling to my heart's content, including a stretch of winding road and a good run on the highway. When I expressed my lack of knowledge with some aspect of the car, he was never condescending or defensive, always helpful. I was impressed. When we got back inside the dealership, I told him I was looking for the same package, but something a little newer with fewer kilometers. He did not try to persuade me, or force me to choose a different vehicle off the lot. Instead, we exchanged contact information and agreed to be in touch in a few days to see what else might have come in. During the next three days, I researched the pre-owned offerings online of every Subaru dealership in Ontario. By that time, I had an excellent idea of the feature packages being offered and prices asked in the different model years. Then I called Robert back, to ask about a vehicle with the right package that had shown up on their website, with no photo and no further info other than the year - 2011. He got right on it, identified the car and offered to let me test drive it immediately. The second test drive was even better than the first. I really got to see what this baby could do, within reason of course. I loved it! The purchase process went smoothly. No hype. No pressure. Everyone I met at the dealership was straightforward and sincere. The tone was "how can we serve you?", from start to finish. Robert even went so far as to take me back to their service shop and introduce me to the service manager, Eugene Mercer, which turned out to be important, as I'll explain in a bit. I should point out that I did visit one other dealership before going back to Richmond Hill Subaru. While the sales guy there was friendly enough, the test drive was the around-the-block variety, and my request to take the car on the highway was refused. During that same period, the first dealership I had visited phoned repeatedly to tell me about other vehicles they had received. I asked them to follow up with detailed information, but they never came through. A quick word about Richmond Hill Subaru's "no haggle" pricing policy. What they told me is that they discount their prices to the bone, as low as they can possibly go, right from the start. As I said above, I proved this out by pricing similar vehicles at dealerships all across Ontario. I can't say I got a bargain-basement price on my vehicle, but for the features and kilometers I wanted, I got a fair price, and I was very happy with the deal. Now for the rest of the story. Before I signed the deal, Robert took me for the conventional walk-around to inspect the car for any minor interior or exterior discrepancies I might see. In addition to the comprehensive mechanical check-up and servicing they had performed, for which Robert had shown me the documentation, they had done a beautiful job detailing the vehicle for delivery. The vehicle was immaculate. Again I was impressed. At home, I drove the car for about a week before I noticed a problem. The two brackets securing the rear bumper fascia to the underbody had broken away. I called Robert, who suggested I speak directly with the service manager. Eugene was just as patient and understanding as Robert had been throughout the sales process. After studying the photographs he suggested I send, he determined that the bumper cover itself had broken away and needed to be replaced. Eugene requested approval from the general manager, and the bumper cover was replaced, free of charge. But there's more. While waiting for the bumper fascia to be delivered, I noticed two other issues I had missed during my final inspection. They too were repaired at no cost to me. My 2011 Subaru Impreza Sport is the tenth car I have purchased in my life. Not a large number perhaps, but enough to understand when the process is satisfying and when it's not. I'm not exaggerating one bit when I state that Richmond Hill Subaru has provided me with the most enjoyable and satisfying automobile purchasing experience I've ever known. I'm not surprised they've been voted 2013 Subaru Dealer Of The Year! More
