Dealership should be shut down for their illegal practices! I visited Raceway Dodge regarding a 2018 vehicle they had in the showroom. I had to put a deposit to "reserve the car" to avoid anyone purchasing it a I visited Raceway Dodge regarding a 2018 vehicle they had in the showroom. I had to put a deposit to "reserve the car" to avoid anyone purchasing it after we made a deal. Everything seemed to go smoothly until I was to deal with Manjinder, their so-called financial advisor. I was told I would be contacted by the next day. I had not received any call from him for almost a week. Next was they could not approve me for the rate we had agreed on in the contract. They requested an increase in the payments and an increase in interest rate to approve someone with excellent credit. I informed their advisor he would have to work towards getting me our agreed rate. I had also raised concerns regarding the "new car" as it had numerous damages (scratches, paint chips, etc.) The advisor said they would take care of everything and quoted "they would replace anything they can't fix and the car would be 100% at date of delivery". A few weeks later I went to the dealership with a friend to check on the car. While walking around the car doing a thorough inspection of the concerns I had mentioned above, I noticed nothing was fixed. Upon speaking with the General Manager I was informed they do not replace parts that have been damaged and would only fix to the best of their ability. Clearly not what I was promised. Eventually the GM stated they would "scrap the deal with the current car" and "order a new factory ordered one which will take roughly 6 weeks". Two weeks later I called Enoch Edwards (the Sales Representative) after trying numerous times only to realize they had not ordered the car. His words were “no we didn’t order anything; you would have to pick up take the car we originally agreed on or no deal”. I visited the dealership later that evening to take back my deposit. Their Sales Manager, Salvatore Dellaterza, stated they "would've eventually reached out to me had I not called them" when I informed him that I never received a call from them and had I not always proactively called I would have wasted 6 weeks of my time. What a joke of a manager. Not only did they fail to refund me my initial deposit, but they illegally transferred the ownership in my name. The agreement was null and void as they failed to provide me with the rate we had agreed on, as well as the ownership of the new car would not be transferred in my name unless I had made the full downpayment (which I did not do). I had mailed a formal complaint to the General Manager, Frank Dametto, regarding my concern. Like any General Manager, he should have responded to my complaint with professionalism but decided to ignore it. This tells you what these people do and whether they really care about anything. I had contacted OMVIC who deals with complaints only to wait even longer. An OMVIC spokeswoman mentioned dealerships are not obligated to respond back to them. Why have such governing bodies that are useless at the end of day? After filing a civil suit against this dealership I was finally able to get back what was rightfully mine. This took more than three months to be dealt with. Clearly this dealership has no concerns and anyone who deals with them will just be affected one way or another. I wish I could use expletive words to describe these people but I cannot as I am restricted from doing so. To summarize my experience with this specific car dealership: - you are guaranteed a lack of contact and communication - they will try numerous tactics to force the sale of a vehicle - you will be dealing with snakes who only care about nothing but their commission - unethical and illegal practices will surely occur - empty promises and lack of trustworthiness More
