Back once again, purchased my # 7 BMW from Performance BMW, a BMW 2021 X5 M sport. As previous purchases very Professional and Simplified Process. Geoffrey Hills worked out a fair number to start for my trade in then we worked from there to get the deal. Upon pick up, BMW Genius, Joelene Phillips assisted my wife in setting up the X5 IDrive as she needed and reviewed and introduced new features for 2021, again Professional and Easy. Also a pleasure speaking with Jody Helsby my Favorite Detailer, whom made sure the BMW X5 was spotless for pickup. I own a 2000 BMW 323i which this dealership inspected and found that I needed a new amplifier module because the fob wouldn't open the doors and trunk. They quoted me around $550 for the part and another $15 found that I needed a new amplifier module because the fob wouldn't open the doors and trunk. They quoted me around $550 for the part and another $150 for labour, and then of course there is tax. Realistically speaking the car is only worth about $500 so I would be spending more than the car is worth. So, I searched the web to see if there is a secondary market for the amplifier and found that amplifiers were for sale. I phoned this dealership to get the right part number - they gave me one but it didn't seem to match the vehicle I had. I then phoned Budds - they gave me a part number but it was different than the one this St. Catharines dealership gave me. I went down personally to find out what the discrepancy was and after a half hour they acknowledged they had give me the wrong part number and that Budds had the right one. Their excuse was that they were inundated with calls due to a screw up with BMW Home Office - some excuse - so busy that they gave me the wrong part number - can't read maybe? So, I found the exact part on the web and for about $140 all in I got a new part. But, it was shipped without the original box - didn't think much of it - the sticker on the part had all the BMW codes etc. - no problem right? I phoned the St. Catharines BMW dealership and told them I had the part, arranged for an appointment a week and was told that it would only be about an hour's work. Went to the dealership for the installation, and was told that because the part didn't come in it's original box they could install it - they couldn't warranty it's performance. I said I would waive any warranty but they still refused to install. They did say they could install a new part which made me furious. In the end this dealership is interested in charging a massive $150 per hour for labour, but also in the massive 3 to 4 times wholesale mark up of its parts. Anyone that goes to this dealership or buys a BMW is foolish, unless of course, you have an unending supply of money and don't mind supporting the lifestyle of the people that own this dealership. Shameful. More
Our experience at Performance BMW was all-around positive. I came in with my wife to test drive a BMW X5 we’d seen in an ad and Bahador was knowledgeable and professional throughout the process. I recently purchased a new X3 xDrive 30i from Bahador. I had an Audi that was coming off of lease and I contemplated going back into another one, this time a Q5. Since I wanted to keep my options open Bahdor showed me the X3 and from there Audi was in the past. The X3 from the handling to the features as well as the quality of the car was exactly what I was looking for. When I initially arrived in the dealership Bahador introduced me to the service department who were very friendly. It was a very comforting experience and the hospitality was amazing before we even got started. Bahador took his time to make sure I was comfortable with my purchase decision and went above and beyond to ensure that the vehicle I was interested in suit my needs. There was no pressure at all. When all was said and done, the transaction was seamless thanks to David Tremblay who guided me through the paperwork. Geoffrey Hills (Sales Manager), was across the deal the whole time and checked in to make sure I was pleased with the service. When I picked up my X3 I was greated by Joelene Philips who went through the features of the car before leaving the lot. I didn't realize how easy it was to navigate through the electronics as well as the functionality of the seats and cargo space. The team at Performance BMW is amazing. They truly give you white glove service with your purchase. I've been to many different dealerships out there but Performance is truly second to none. More
Found an X4 demo with options I wanted but hesitated given distance to dealership.
