I'M DEEPLY DISAPPOINTED WITH PATHWAY. THE NEXT AFTER PURCHASING MY SANTA FE, A STRANGE AND LOUD NOISE EMERGED FROM BENEATH THE CAR. DESPITE INITIALLY DISMISSING IT AS A COLD START BY ONE THE NEXT AFTER PURCHASING MY SANTA FE, A STRANGE AND LOUD NOISE EMERGED FROM BENEATH THE CAR. DESPITE INITIALLY DISMISSING IT AS A COLD START BY ONE OF THE MANAGERS, IT PERSISTED AND WORSENED. PATHWAY REFUSED TO INSPECT THE CAR, SO I HAD TO PAY FOR THEIR SERVICE DEPARTMENT TO DO SO. IT TURNS OUT, THE REAR MUFFLER CANISTER IS RUSTED, CAUSING THE NOISE. HOWEVER, NEITHER PATHWAY NOR THE AFTERMARKET INSURANCE I WAS URGED TO BUY ARE WILLING TO COVER THE COST. I'LL USE ALL AVAILABLE LEGAL MEANS TO ENSURE MY CAR IS FIXED, INCLUDING ORGANIZING PROTESTS WITH MY FAMILY AND KIDS IN FRONT OF THEIR BUILDING EVERY DAY. More

The dealership is unhelpful, service manager hangs up on people and advised we aren’t welcome at his dealer like he owns the place. Staff at this dealership are friendly, but getting someone to return a phone call or answer an email is nearly impossible. This is to report an incident that happened last week, following my vehicle servicing at the Pathway Hyundai dealership. I purchased 3 cars at the same dealership in the last 10 years of which I still following my vehicle servicing at the Pathway Hyundai dealership. I purchased 3 cars at the same dealership in the last 10 years of which I still have the Kona bought in 2019 and the Santa Fe in 2021. On Monday, Sep 11, the Santa Fe was scheduled for a routine servicing. I received a call at 12:17 p.m. from the dealership, unfortunately I missed their call. They did not leave a voicemail. I tried calling the number back at 12:25 - I stayed on the phone until it was dropped, due to one at the dealership picking up my call. They left me a voicemail on the 2nd time they called at 3:21, informing me that the car was ready for pickup. I picked up my car and did not have to pay for the servicing, as i received a few “free” oil changes at the time of purchase. I drove the car for a few minutes and realized that something was wrong- the fan / AC made a noise, and, there was another sound that could be heard not related to the fan noise. I drove back to the dealership to inform them and one of the service advisor’s informed me that the noise I’m hearing is from the leaves that are stuck the cabin filter (I was somewhat taken back by this, as they were obviously aware of this, but had no interest in removing the leaves when my vehicle was at the dealership for servicing). Since I knew the service department will be closed soon, the advisor brushed off my concerns saying we tried to call you in regard to this issue and we could not get a hold of you. He also mentioned that I should come on Thursday and that I am able to drive with no issues. I went back home disappointed and worried at the same time. The following day the sound from the fan / AC was much worse. Out of concern, I contacted a garage who could see me right away, and they removed the cabin filter and noticed that the service department at Pathway Hyundai changed the filter (it was brand new), but they did not remove the leaves. He agreed with me that this was common sense that when the filter was being changed, the leaves should have been removed. He also noticed that the lug nuts on all 4 wheels were not properly tightened and he was able to remove them by hand on the parking lot. We were both shocked, as this was responsible for the 2nd noise I was hearing. As a result of my lug nuts being loose on all 4 tires, this could have resulted in my wheels coming off, causing a serious accident! The garage staff were as shocked as I was. They had to charge me for fixing all these issues. While having my car fixed, I called the GM who was unavailable and left him a voicemail. A few hours later, I received a courtesy call from pathway asking me to rate the servicing they did the day before. I told the lady what happened and she seemed concerned, telling me that she will get her supervisor to call me. I waited almost a week to hear back from them and nothing happened until yesterday where another guy called me out of courtesy as I left them a voicemail to call me back! He was calling not to enquire about what happened but he wanted to me to fill out the survey. I then went ahead and explained what had happened, he clearly brushed me off, insisting that I need to rate the service advisor who “helped” me. He was not acknowledging what happened but would only want me to rate the advisor whom I had not been in contact with at all. I told him that in my previous servicing, they would contact me by texts and I did not receive any of these. He said this service is not offered anymore. He said I should go into the store and try to talk with a manager to explain the situation. I told him that I am not going there and I asked him to have his manager call me by end of day, otherwise I will put my whole story on this website. As of today, I still haven’t received any call and clearly, they have no interested in getting this resolved. More
