Well mannered and explained everything to the details. Although i already knew what vehicle i wanted, he did not distracted me with other models. He helped me get my trade in at a reasonable price and helped me adjusted to a term payment i am comfortable with. In the end i have made a friend in him. Hope his other clients would feel the same. Did a deal pending they could bring it in from Vernon, they told us they would let us know by Tuesday. By Friday and we had not heard from them I phoned Richmond and the salesman told me that he couldn’t get that 4 runner from Vernon because it was sold. I went on line and saw the vehicle still, posted at Vernon Toyota, as well my husband phoned them. Not only was the vehicle still in Vernon, they told us that Richmond had never phoned them, as they would do that deal. I phoned Richmond back and spoke to sales manager, he told me that ALL dealer lie, unbelievable, I do not understand why any dealer would lie when there is a buyer to purchase a car for sale. I was also told from Richmond because I wanted a blue 4 runner that I would have to have one made in the factory and wait 3 months, as there are no other ones available anywhere in BC, hmmmm WE drove out to peace arch Toyota, they found a blue 4 runner within 20 minutes for me and we wrote up a deal and I will have our new vehicle in 2 weeks We will NEVER EVER return to Richmond open road Toyota, where they lie and think that’s standard behaviour, and it’s really not, disgusted former open road customer More

I went to vancouver from the Island looking for my next car, after visiting some dealerships I ended up finding what seemed a great deal on Autotrader at Open Road Toyota Richmond. After emailing the dealership asking for more info, the online sales manager phoned me back and even offered to pick me at a location nearby another dealership. Once at Open Road Toyota, I noticed the "certified Sienna" they had on autotrader showed a very poor body repair job done on one of the rear side which turned my interest in that vehicle off. Next we moved to another similar car but this one had signs of of aggressive wear and tear. My final decision was to move to a RAV4. During the visual inspection I failed to noticed a small chipping on the windshield which wasn't disclosed on their certification report and several small chipped spots on the hood and front bumper. Once I got my financing approved, I came back to the dealership and the online sales manager picked me up from the ferry terminal. After signing documents I was so happy for having my new car that I trusted the finance manager who told me "what you really care about is your payments, right?" I guess that's how they got people like me signing in the "x" without looking carefully the small details. Once at home, the next morning I took my kid to the school who soon after pointed to the chipping in the windshield, I emailed the dealership and after a few emails back and forth I finally got the sales manager approval to get it fixed but the condition is that I needed to comeback to the dealership to get it fixed there as I wanted an original part and not the generic offered at a Victoria Glass shop. Note that this was my third trip to Vancouver so keep in mind the cost. On one of the emails I also reported to them that the car had several small chipped spots on the hood and front bumper that I only noticed after getting worried due to the windshield issue, I wanted to make sure that the car had no other undisclosed issues. The online sales manager told me "don't worry I'll get those chipped spots touched up at no cost" the same day you come for the windshield fix. The third issue discovered once I did a good review on the financing agreement that the finance manager didn't disclosed to me an admin charge for $1,009. In total there were three charges: two admin fees $295 and $1,000 and a third charge called dealer fee $595. At that moment I got really upset for what I consider a dishonest and deceitful selling practice at Open Road Toyota Richmond, I was deeply disappointed that I bought a $25,000 Toyota "Certified" vehicle that after all the extra fees, taxes and interest ended up costing me $35,000, how come this people could sold me something with a chipped windshield that according to the in-house (not the online manager) said "this is a safety issue ", plus all the chipped paint (they never repaired this as promised by the online sales manager), and all those admin, dealer fees totalling almost $2,000 additional charges added before taxes? Of course I did called, emailed them and firmly demanded a refund of the undisclosed extra admin $1,000 and had the windshield repaired, unfortunately I was so fed up with having to deal with all these issues that even though the chipped paint wasn't repaired I just wanted to go home. In conclusion, if you're not a savvy car buyer beware of these dealership employees who will do whatever necessary to hook you up, once you sign, if something goes wrong as I guess, I'm not being the first and the last, be ready for an unpleasant back and forth exchange up until either you give up or you make them get their wrong straight. Appalling Customer service! If there is a negative rating, that's what this dealership will get from me. I currently drive a 2003 Honda CRV and am in the market for a new SUV, so went to Open Road Toyota to test drive the Rave4. First of all, we (my husband and I) were in the show room for a long time before a salesperson who is doing nothing at that time, finally asked if we needed help. We said yes and he tried to get another salesperson over to attend to us. This salesperson said he was busy, so the original salesperson reluctantly said he will help us. After taking down our details, he went away to arrange for the test drive car. He was gone for a long time, so I looked around and noticed that they have a promotion for aeroplan points if you test drive one of their vehicles, so when the salesperson returned, I asked about this. His response was "if that's all you are here for, then don't bother to test drive, I can just give you the points". After the test drive, he asked me if I liked the car and I said I did, at which point he said "want to buy it now?". Told him I still have a few other makes to test drive before I can make a decision. His response was "don't bother doing that. You should just buy this". When I made it clear to him that is not going to happen right away, he simply walked away. I am totally appalled by the rudeness, insensitivity, horrible attitude and poor customer service of this place and will never come back. More

Worst Customer service experience. I had seen a pre owned car on the toyota website and based on that I put a down payment. 3 days after when I went to dealership they changed the price I had seen a pre owned car on the toyota website and based on that I put a down payment. 3 days after when I went to dealership they changed the price and increase by 4000$ saying that we dont know who change the price and told me that they cannot give me on that price. TOtal cheating to the people. Manager told me to prove the website price.. which they had already changed during morning time. Never ever go to this dealership.. Just wasted my time. Absolutely the worst customer service!! ABSOLUTELY THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE!! I would give them negative stars if I could! I was in the market for a new 4runner and went to Open Roa ABSOLUTELY THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE!! I would give them negative stars if I could! I was in the market for a new 4runner and went to Open Road because it was the closest place to my home and I have been taking my older vehicle there for service. . I knew what I wanted and I know what the prices are so I went in to take a look at their stock. The first time I went, I walked around the lot and showroom for over 30 minutes before I finally had to find someone to help. There are lots of staff there but none seem that eager to assist the customer. When I finally flagged someone down, we sat down and discussed what was available. I gave my number and details and went home waiting to hear back. I dropped in four times and called several times to touch base. Nothing....When I finally got someone's attention they gave me a ridiculous price and were not interested in negotiating. They do the old back and forth with the 'Sales Manager' and say there's nothing they can do for me. When I go to talk to the 'Manager', his minions tell me that he doesn't talk to customers!! Can you believe that? How do they stay in business? Their staff is rude, and condescending and look like they all just got out of high school. So I took my money and went to Peace Arch Toyota in White Rock and bought a brand new 4Runner. I told them my experience with Open Road and they said they hear that all the time about them. I called Peace Arch Toyota that day and when I showed up, they had 2 4Runners out front and ready for me to test drive. We sat down and we agreed to a price that was $3000 cheaper than Open Road wanted for a Demo model they were trying to flog. And I didn't really try that hard to negotiate. I probably could have gotten a better deal! Awesome customer service at Peace Arch!! Friendly and well educated. Do yourself a favor and talk to the adults at Peach Arch and save yourself time, money and lots of grief! Stay away from Open Road! They suck!! More
