Bought a used Tuscon about 3 months ago-it was an ok experience, the salesman told us he was very desperate to sell a car so he did all he could to get me to purchase it and I have been very happy with experience, the salesman told us he was very desperate to sell a car so he did all he could to get me to purchase it and I have been very happy with my purchase thus far. Went in for my first oilchange, I had to book 2 weeks in advance at the same time I also booked a rental car for the day. The day I went in to drop it off they tried to tell me I didn't need a rental as it would only take a 1/2 hour, I explained I had to get a cast on my broken foot and had an appointment to make so I did indeed need the rental. I got it, made my appointment then came back at lunch to pick up my car. It wasn't done apparently because I took the rental they assumed I wouldn't need my car back when they said it would be done. Told them I would return at 4pm to pick it up which they ok'd. Called at 4pm to confirm it was done, it wasn't. I went to the dealer to figure out why a 1/2 job has taken 8, and told them I was keeping the rental until they finished my oil change. Not one staff offered to help me move my belongings into the rental from my vehicle or move my vehicle closer as I was in a cast!! My car is supposed to be done this afternoon but all of this mess could have been avoided had they 1. Confirmed the actual time my oil change would be done after I took the rental. (after he said 1/2 hour, the manager never said it would take longer if I had a courtesy car) 2. If Northstar had a little bit of actual customer service and offered to help me in any way instead of making me walk back and forth through their lot (3 seperate occasions) on a broken foot, or offered a chair while I was waiting for all of this to be figured out. I will not be returning to Northstar Hyundai for the rest of my free oil changes, they seem to think an individuals time is not worth anything. Nor will I be referring anyone buy from this dealership, as I was referred. More

I recently went really enjoyed the service department and the brand itself so I knew I would definitely buy another hyundai after my 2008 veracruz... I recently went into north star white I was getting my vehicle serviced and met Raj who was probably the most professional, not to mention nice salesperson we've ever dealt with. From start to finish they told me everything I needed to know and more, and made my experience to buy my 2012 vera cruz amazing, thank you very much for a great buying experience. Susan More
We got a call from Northstar, saying they had someone who wanted a 2009 Sante Fe and for us to come in. They said they could put us in a 2012 model for the same payments as what we had for our 2009. My wife wanted a 2009 Sante Fe and for us to come in. They said they could put us in a 2012 model for the same payments as what we had for our 2009. My wife and I met Trevor and immediately, he started talking about the Sport model, which is several steps above our GL. We told him we were only interested in paying the same payments and same terms as our current model. He came back with a ridiculous 84 month proposal (we had 5 yr/60 months). When we indicated we weren't interested he said he'd see what he could do. His Sales Manager Terry came over, introduced himself and said that 70% of the people coming in made a deal and if we couldn't make a deal, we would shake hands and walk away. Like many of the previous statements about this dealership, there were many delays, lots of pressure tactics and when we finally said we weren't interested Terry became very rude, condescending and finally walked off in a huff. We had given them our keys so they could look over our vehicle - it took almost 20 minutes and 3 direct requests to get the keys back. Since then (3 weeks ago) they have had the gall to call several times and leave messages asking us to come back. I finally answered the phone when they called today and told them to never call back - I got a rude response and they hung up on me. Who in their right mind would think a customer would ever entertain the idea of doing business with these clowns after the way they treated us? I have a business associate who has also dealt with them recently and he indicated that they had tried to intimidate his wife and left several rude messages on their answering machine until he finally went to their dealership and threatened legal action against them for harassment. Through my entire dealings with Northstar, they acted like as if they were doing me a favour by selling me a car at full MSRP. When I’m making a significant life purchase, you’re not doing me any favour like as if they were doing me a favour by selling me a car at full MSRP. When I’m making a significant life purchase, you’re not doing me any favours. Deceit, scams, games, never ending waiting, and zero integrity sum up this dealership. From day 1 it was a 4 hour back and forth process of games and forcing me to pay a $500 deposit just for them to give me the price of a vehicle. Zero professionalism, and I felt like I was in a circus. If you imagine a used car lot with salespeople sounding sirens when they sell a car, loud music blaring, running around, chaos...that’s this dealership. I suppose they’re trying to “Pump up the excitement!”. *rolls eyes* I won’t go into too many details, but the bottom line is that I waited, and waited, and waited.... and for nothing. From waiting until 8:30 for a 5pm appointment, to waiting for a VIN for my car, waiting for the car to come in, waiting for the car to come in again...and again....and again.... to waiting on hold for 20 minutes at a time until I finally would hang up because no one cared to talk to me and tell me where my car was. Everytime I would be given a delivery date, no car. There’s always a glitch in the system, a problem with the trailering company, a problem with the other dealership, blah blah woof woof. I initially was told I’d have my car in a week. Then I was told it couldn’t be located, so it would be 6-8 weeks to come from the factory. I opted for an automatic instead, assuming I would have it quickly. On a Friday, I was assured it would be here “No later than Wednesday”, as it was only coming from Calgary. No car. 2 weeks later, and still no hope for receiving the car, my seething mad self got my deposit back and went to West End Hyundai-- where I should have gone in the first place. Completely different experience, and highly recommended. Northstar is a gong-show, and I’m saddened to see that so many others share the same horrendous experience. These guys should be shut down. DONT EVER BUY A CAR AT THIS DEALERSHIP. THEY WILL DO ANYTHING FOR A SALE INCLUDING LYING THERE A***S OFF JUST TO MAKE A QUICK BUCK. I WENT IN THERE BECAUSE IT WAS CLOSE TO MY HOUSE. I ALREADY NEW WHAT C ANYTHING FOR A SALE INCLUDING LYING THERE A***S OFF JUST TO MAKE A QUICK BUCK. I WENT IN THERE BECAUSE IT WAS CLOSE TO MY HOUSE. I ALREADY NEW WHAT CAR I WANTED. I FIRST MET RICHARD WHO I MUST SAY DOES NOT BELONG THERE HE IS SUCH A SWEET HEART AND WAS NOT REALLY A SALES GUY. I TOLD HIM WHAT I WANTED AND HE SAID LETS SEE WHAT I CAN DO. THEN THIS GUY NAMED ACE (WHO SHOULD REALLY BE NAMED DUCE) BUTTED HIS NOSE IN IT AND WAS JUST F*****G ANNOYING. I HAD TO GO BACK AND FORTH WITH HIM FOR 4 HOURS TO GET THE DEAL I WANTED. THEN I ASKED HOW LONG WOULD IT TAKE FOR THEM TO HAVE MY CAR. ACE TOLD ME 2 DAYS CAUSE THE CAR I WANTED WAS SUPPOSEDLY AT A DIFFERENT DEALERSHIP HERE IN TOWN. SO I GAVE THEM A 500.00 DEPOSIT ( PEOPLE DONT DO THIS UNLESS YOU KNOW ALL THE TRUTH FIRST) GOT APPROVED FOR PAYMENTS AND WENT HOME. THE NEXT DAY I CALLED THEM TO ASK FOR THE EXACT DAY MY CAR WOULD BE IN. ALL THERE SALES GUYS KEPT GIVING ME THE RUN AROUND SO I FINALLY TALKED TO A MANAGER WHO TOLD ME THAT THE CAR WOULD BE READY IN 8 xxxxING WEEKS. SO I CANCELLED MY CAR ORDER AND WENT TO WEST END HYUNDAI THEY SHOWED ME ON PAPER HOW ACE TRIED TO RIP ME OFF BIG TIME AND HOW I ALMOST GOT REALLY SCREWED. SO THEY GAVE ME AN EVEN BETTER DEAL WITH THEM AND I GET MY CAR SOONER. More
Walked into this dealership and felt pressured to give a down payment "right Now" and then was told that the price was the absoulute bottom line....which was more than we were willing to pay....so we left t down payment "right Now" and then was told that the price was the absoulute bottom line....which was more than we were willing to pay....so we left the dealership only to be chased down by the salesperson and told that they were able to reduce the price by another $2000. What happened to the absolute bottom line? Then we started receiving phone calls pressuring us to come back to the dealership. Never will go there again. More
