Took 3.5 hours for an oil change. This appointment consumed my morning. It's just an oil change. This was a "Drop and Wait" appointment. I was expecting it to be under 90 min. The Best Service I've Had At A Dealership Northstar Ford was very helpful and worked very hard to get my family into a new 2016 Ford Flex. I had tried to deal with other dealerships both close to home in Medicine Hat, and as far away as Wataskiwin. The other dealerships either did not really want to deal with me, or I had to go through a lot of hoops and pay large amounts down. My credit rating is not good due to past financial problems, and this may have contributed to it. I have started to rebuild my credit and have changed to a different job which pays a great deal more then what I was getting paid when I ran into financial problems. This did not seem to matter to the other dealerships, but Northstar tried and got me approved after a lot of work on there part. Also there sales staff were excellent in finding me a vehicle that both fits my family needs and wants, as well as fitting my financial side. More

F-150 99963 Km service - can not get socket on tire lug nuts, so we need to replace them at a fee of 1/2-1 hour + lug nuts. I would have agreed to have them changed. I would have changed them, however why would I want to pay for the extra time when they need to take them off to start with. when I got the truck home I took the nuts of and changed them with no problem and it only took me 5 minutes. - Told my transmission pan is leaking and if I wanted it serviced at a fee of twice the fee that I would be charged at a repeatable shop. this on top of I would have to pay for a new gasket. I am not sure what the policy is, but if you take the pan off you put a new gasket on. especially with the amount of miles on the vehicle. the vehicle has a 100k drive train warranty. I declined, as I felt like I was being nickle and dimed. - told there is a service advisory to replace the spark plug boots, and that it would cost me 150.00 to do so. I declined as this should be a warranty item. same thing nickle and dimed - a service some time back said my rotors were warped and it would cost me 750.00 for the front. I declined as the cost was way to high and I can do it myself. when I did the brakes the rotors were not warped, the calipers malfunctioned and only half the pad was hitting the rotor. More

Worst customer service i have ever experienced So this all started when I purchased what I thought were all season tires and had an appointment booked for Wednesday October 19th because I was told So this all started when I purchased what I thought were all season tires and had an appointment booked for Wednesday October 19th because I was told they would be there by the 18th. I called on the 18th and was told by the second person I talked to in parts (the first person said they would call me back and didn't) that they would for sure be there tomorrow (Wednesday) but as it was inconvenient for me to drop my car off I moved my appointment to Friday. On Friday Morning I receive a call from Service saying my tires weren't to arrive for 3-4 days ( I explained I was told that they were supposed to be there on the 19th) With the help from Brittany in service they were able to find me tires which would have been great and this review would have been positive except that although I had expressed I wanted All season tires more than once when I called I was quoted winter tires and these are what was put on my vehicle. What made this experience the worst experience and the reason I will never purchase another vehicle or go back to Northstar ford is that I always learnt in customer service that the customer is always right. However the way Northstar Ford does it is they have to prove you are right to even get so much as an apology and that is all you get. Being that this mix up was discovered at 4 pm on a Friday I was told they don't have anyone available or willing to switch my tires back to my old ones and I would have to wait till Monday! I could have a rental car but if they listen to recordings and find that it is my fault I would have to pay for said rental, I was offended by this and decided to go without a vehicle for the weekend and also because I had to somehow magically get to crowfoot from southland drive by train in less than an hour and I simply didn't make it. On Monday (the day I was told I would hear from them in the morning ) I didn't get a phone call until 1:30 rolled around and I decided to call 3 times and was treated rudely by the order desk being told that "its Monday and we are busy" as the reason why I still don't know the status of my vehicle. Finally at 2:30ish I heard from the manager of service who said that they would put my old tires back on and now leaving this in the hands of the manager of parts to deal with. The manager of parts called me shortly after who I will admit was nice to deal with, she admitted that I not only once but twice said in my call that I wanted All seasons and gave me a quote for 3 more types of tires 2 of which were more than the ones I had already paid for. Needless to say I didn't get anything for my inconvenience, being treated like a liar except for a small apology and now I have an appointment elsewhere to purchase the tires I wanted in the first place. Vehicle returned with a 28 inch scratch........ I dropped off my vehicle to get tires changed. I got my truck back with a deep, 28" long scratch on the driver side door. When I immediately raised the issue to the service department, they indicated that as it was not reported by any of their mechanics, they could not in good faith do anything about it. The key learning I've had is that North Star Ford will make no guarantee to return YOUR vehicle in the same condition in which it was received. In the case of my vehicle, it was clearly damaged while in the care and custody of the dealership - albeit when and how is not clear. They washed their hands and told me to deal with it thru my insurance. (I guess that's not totally true - they offered to repair it for $1268 + GST....) ______________________ UPDATE: After working directly with Northstar Ford Management, they have graciously agreed to split the repair charges with myself, demonstrating a shared accountability. I understand Fords position, and appreciate them being willing to help. I've left part of the original review, but changed the rating to factor in their willingness to help. While I am frustrated with the damage, I am happy with Ford's willingness to help. Thank you. More
