This is how the car buying experience should be! My 2005 Passat TDI Wagon has been much loved for the past 11+ years, but a transmission failure meant it was time to finally move on to a new car, so My 2005 Passat TDI Wagon has been much loved for the past 11+ years, but a transmission failure meant it was time to finally move on to a new car, so I negotiated a deal on a new 2017 Golf SportWagen from a local Langley, BC dealership. But after agreeing to a deal and providing them with a deposit they decided they weren't interested in my business - (they wouldn't bring in the vehicle in the colour I wanted - you can read my full review on that nightmare experience here on DealerRater as well) So I made a couple phone calls to two random Calgary VW dealers and I was able to locate exactly the car I wanted from Northland Volkswagen (which my local dealer was either unable or unwilling to secure for me). I happened to already have an upcoming trip to Calgary booked for a week long family visit, so it worked out perfectly. I would just be driving back to Langley in my new car rather than flying home now. The entire car buying experience with Northland Volkswagen was amazing. From negotiating a deal over the phone, to handling the paperwork via email, to the excellent communication with both the sales and finance teams, I was treated as a valued customer the entire time. Northland VW even beat the "absolute lowest possible price" that Gold Key Langley VW offered me on the same car by $1500! And once I was in Calgary, Northland VW made arrangements to pick me up to bring me to the dealership to finalize the paperwork and pick up my new car. Meeting all of the people who were involved remotely in completing the deal was great. Oliver (Sales Manager) was friendly, honest and transparent throughout the entire process, Jared and Guy (Finance) made sure I had all the necessary paperwork and finance details sorted out, including a great deal on the extended warranty I wanted, and the necessary documents and insurance needed for me to drive the new car back to BC. And Ron did a fantastic job of showing me all of the amazing new features and options on my new car. Even though I was pretty familiar already as we already have a 2015 Golf TDI and I've been a VW owner for the past 15+ years, Ron was able to show me a couple new things even I didn't know about. Being that I'm in BC, it's a shame I won't be able to continue to use Northland VW for my ongoing maintenance and service, as I would have loved to continue bringing my business to them. However, if you are looking for a new (or used) car in the Calgary area, I can say without hesitation that you would be hard pressed to find another dealership that will provide you the professional, friendly and amazing car buying experience that Northland Volkswagen provides! The customer is absolutely #1 there, and they met or exceeded all of my expectations. Highly Recommended! More

Customer is to be #1 I have been dealing with the Northland dealership since buying my 2009 Jetta TDI from them new. The last last service advisor recently used was the be I have been dealing with the Northland dealership since buying my 2009 Jetta TDI from them new. The last last service advisor recently used was the best, Scott Carylon. Knowledgeable took the time to research an ongoing issue I have had and offer a reasonable solution. He communicated promptly and I was kept informed of the progress. Shuttle drivers were prompt and pleasant. One of the best things Northland has done is add a shuttle service downtown! This makes booking service for even small things like oil changes more convenient. I need to decide what to do with the whole diesel issue now. Too bad they didn't contact me with there old but new inventory when it was ready to sell. More

The Tiguan we presently have also is very good, but we like the characteristics of the Beetle. Matt was made aware that a manual transmission, certain colours and others extras would be required to firm up the deal. Unfortunately, that one car was only available somewhere else in Alberta. Matt persevered to have that Beetle transported to the dealership within a few days at a very attractive price. For both my wife and I, this has been the most relaxing, pleasant and fun experience of buying a car. Thank you Matt. More
