Beware of unexpected price increase. I ordered a car from North London Toyota and waited. The salesman called to say the vehicle would be arriving soon. Dealer then emailed a detailed pricing offer. I emailed my acceptance to the pricing offer. A month later, I came in to get the car. I was not advised, but discovered the price was $700 higher than agreed. I was upset, but I had made arrangements and needed the car, so I paid the $700. I complained to Toyota Canada who said it was a dealer issue and the dealer would call me. The dealer never called. I complained to OMVIC who said that it was a dealer issue and the dealer would call me. The dealer never called. Not happy with North London Toyota. More
My wife and I had Aiden Graham helping us choose a vehicle. He was helpful but not intrusive. He had a suggestion and when it wasn't taken he gave us no pressure. I have been into the dealership twice in two days. Nothing but the run around. I went in to specifically lease a RAV4 hybrid limited, and pay the whole lease off up front, from the equity of my trade Nothing but the run around. I went in to specifically lease a RAV4 hybrid limited, and pay the whole lease off up front, from the equity of my trade in - which was conveniently $7000 lower than 5 other dealerships’ evaluation. It took them 2 full days to even get an evaluation. The manager, Scott Van xxxx, was rude, aggressive, abrasive and dismissive. He told me that in his 16 years of working in the car industry, no one has ever paid off their lease up front. And that their computer system didn’t even allow a deal like this to go through. He seemed very inexperienced, and dumbfounded that someone wanted to prepay their lease terms. He then, like a smart xxx, said to me “can I ask you a question?”, I replied “yes”, he said if 5 other dealerships offered you $7000 more, why don’t you just go deal with them instead?” To which my response was, “this is the only RAV 4 hybrid limited car I can find in Ontario, with the exact specs I want. I’m willing to take less on my trade so I don’t have to wait 6+ months to get one.” Has anyone ever heard of a car dealership manager going out of his way to lose a sale ? He did everything he could to not sell me the car today and put up roadblocks. I have purchased many vehicles in my time, and this is by far the oddest experience to date. I had to chase them for their business, instead of them chasing me for mine. Beware. Scott Van xxxx’s an aggressive person who really should learn some customer relations. Especially as a car dealership manager. More
