I purchased a used 2021 Mazda3 with low mileage being advertised as "accident free" with a clean Carfax for a competitive but not suspiciously low price in late 2025. Awesome. After test driving the car and visually inspecting the exterior for any anomalies (panel gaps, dents), the only thing that stood out was the not easily observable orange peel on the passenger side. The passenger door also rattled when closed. Sergei, the salesman we delt with assured us it was simply a clip or something minor shaking in the door. Believable (SPOILER- the door is filled with broken glass!☺). You'd think when buying a low mileage car from a trusted dealership you wouldn't have to worry about getting a pre-purchase inspection, but that's not right and this specific case is a clear example. Always do your due diligence as a buyer since sly, sneaky dealerships like NewRoads Mazda choose to turn a blind eye to things that don't immediately stand out. Within a couple of weeks after the purchase, the vehicle had to be taken back to get a bad wheel bearing replaced. How the technicians didn't catch this when inspecting/certifying the vehicle, we will never know. Nevertheless, thankfully it was covered under warranty. After a few months, it came to my attention that the paint on the passenger side was peeling off of the car (poorly done overspray) and that is when I noticed that the door was also bowed outward, separating the weather stripping from the vehicle itself. When this issue was brought to attention with the dealerships manager, the claim (in short) after back-and-forth as well as photo evidence was that they are sure they made no error and they can't know what was done between the time of purchase and the given date of contact, implying the damage was caused after the time of purchase. We both (dealership manager Curtis Biggs and myself) know this isn't true, especially since the car was purchased by the dealership for significantly lower than market value- they know why they did that. The repair cost and cost of depreciation is now on me, stuck with a car with a broken door full of broken glass. Despite being OMVIC certified, OMVIC has been useless thus far. The dealership simply doesn't really care about their customers despite the great customer service they provide you with before you make a purchase from them, and they have a team consisting of either blatantly incompetent staff members, maliciously sly staff members, or both. I hope it is understood that this review is not out of malice, but out of frustration for the financial detriment this has resulted in, as a warning to potential future customers, and for publicity about the dealerships operation style. More
