Rude, rude, rude treatment I took my truck in for service last fall and as I had a pretty good idea exactly what was wrong with it I told the service rep. It needed glow plugs a I took my truck in for service last fall and as I had a pretty good idea exactly what was wrong with it I told the service rep. It needed glow plugs and two new batteries in addition I had the oil changed. I picked up the vehicle two days later and drove it home. Over the weekend I noticed there was long delay in turnover before starting that hadn't been there before. I took it back on the Monday and spoke to the service rep. He was friendly and helpful and called in the service manager. That's where the problems began. The service manager had an attitude the minute he walked up to the desk. "I knew that truck had bigger problems than what it was in here for," he said. I asked why that wasn't on the report. He had no answer. He said he would take the truck back in and put it on the diagnostic, but there would be a minimum 2 hr labour charge. I pointed out that I had just paid more than $1,200 for service and that the issue could be related to that, how did he know? How did he know that the tech working on the truck hadn't installed the batteries incorrectly or one of the two glow plugs? Maybe a cable was left off one of the batteries or was loose. He hadn't even looked at it. I said I wasn't paying for a diagnostic and pointed out he hadn't even looked at it. "We have to make money too you know," he said. "Do you work for free?" He asked me sarcastically. That's when I turned heel and left, telling them I couldn't believe how I was being treated as a customer and that I would never be back with either of my GM vehicles. All I wanted was for them to check the work they had just completed and ensure the problem wasn't associated with that. The truck was fine when it went in and the problem was new after I picked it up. (As a side note, I later discovered the problem was a stripped bleeder screw on the fuel pump. Hmmmmm. How did that happen? Gee I wonder! Can't prove anything though. I went to another dealer, bought a new bleeder screw for $17.00 and voila, it's fine.) I absolutely could not believe that anyone in a service department would speak to a customer the way I was spoken to, much less the service manager. I could tell the service rep who was sitting there for the whole interaction was embarrassed, but he didn't say anything. The service manager at New Roads should be fired or never allowed to interact with customers. I will never do business with this dealership again. More
Very impressed so far from home The Terrain I was looking for wasn't available in my hometown of Sudbury. I was planning to go to Newmarket and visited the New Roads website to see what they had. An operator via live chat took my information and I spoke to Alex the next day. In addition to learning he had grown up not that far away (the Island), it became apparent to me that he was interested in meeting my needs and getting me the Terrain I wanted at the best price (my husband was convinced he had made a mistake). He suggested a factory build and I agreed. He said it would take 6 to 8 weeks, maybe sooner, and it came in just under 4 weeks. During this time, I did meet Alex when I visited Newmarket and found him to be as polite and professional to me as over the phone. This past Saturday, my husband and I made the 3 3/4 hr drive to Newmarket to pick up my new Terrain. Alex had even followed through on my request for Weathertech floor liners and had them available for me if I wanted them (which I did). He called me today to follow up on an email I had sent him and I know if I have further questions or concerns he is there for me. I would recommend him and this dealership to anyone in the Greater Sudbury area who is looking for a vehicle at a price that won't be matched by anyone in our area. Call him, he will sell you exactly what you want, and you won't be disappointed! More

Purchase Best buying experience ever! Jennifer was a pleasure to work with - found the truck I liked - dug it out from the depths of the lot, took the plastic Best buying experience ever!
