BUYER BEWARE!! On March 31, 2017 my husband and I purchased a 2017 Jeep Wrangler. One of the salepersons pitches were the amazing off road tires that were all season On March 31, 2017 my husband and I purchased a 2017 Jeep Wrangler. One of the salepersons pitches were the amazing off road tires that were all season and we didn't need to spend the extra money or time getting winter tires! This past Sat Jan 6th my family and I were in what could have been a fatal car accident - these "so called MUD tires" became caked with ice and snow and froze while we were driving and it was like driving on ICE SKATES! As we approached an off ramp we realized we could not BRAKE and we were inevitably going to hit the flatbed directly infront of us. A staright medal peice headed straight for our windshield. Thankfully my husband reacted quickly and cranked the Jeep into oncoming traffic and only the passenger side of our Jeep was hit by the medal flatbed and no on coming traffic hit us! This was a terrifying experience the OPP couldn't believe we escaped with only some sore necks and bruises. Upon reflecting on this we were very concerned that these "MUD TIRES" were being sold as All season and putting peoples lives at risk. I contacted the dealership and spoke to Alex (manager) and he was surprisingly dismissive. Told me everyone knows Mud tires are bad in snow and rain. Really?? Obviously we did not I would never put my families life in danger on purpose. I communicated I had always been a loyal Jeep customer and asked him if therewas anything he could do to help us out in this situation? We had to cover a deductable and clearly purchase new tires ( i will never drive with these tires and was willing to trade) and not to mention the depreciation of our 6 month old Jeep had just instantly decreased. His response, " if you want to bring in your Jeep perhaps I can give you a good trade in price". My family could have died and your solution is "come in and buy another jeep from me"??? I communicated this was not an an option due to our financial situation now with the costs incurred from the accident and asked if he might be able to help us out with a new set of tires and he said I can't help you there I will have someone from parts call you. This call never happened. I also contacted the head office and recieved no recourse. I thought Jeep would stand behind their customers and their products. I guess our lives aren't worth a set of tires and a $500 deductable to them. I would hope someone would just have the human decency to care about what happened to another human being and help make it right if they could. I will NOT buy another Jeep product or recommend it to anyone and will share my experience in hopes it won't happen to anyone else. Since the accident I have been on several Jeep Forums and it seems this is not an uncommon issue I hope to save someone else from a live threatening accident. Marcie Dawson More
