Sales experience absolutely terrible. -lack of proper paperwork -Requested paint protection film and instead they ceramic coated my car without approval. Due to this mix up I had to request a refund for the paint film a month after sale. The salesman excuse was I forgot about you. Salesman tried to rip me off and refund less than was paid. Service experiences was worse. Poorly installed accessory was damaging my doors. The first attempt at repair was a rush job and a joke. They decided messing up my door alignment instead of addressing the actual issues. 2nd attempt they failed to line up the accessories. The parts come with an installation template. Driver and passenger parts are installed at uneven heights on car. Very amateur quality work from this dealership. Also paint damage on the door for them removing the parts They still owe me paint repairs. Kevin Dowd you are failing at your responsibilities Thanks Mid-town for messing up my car. More
BEWARE As I read through the litany of complaints about Mid-Town Ford’s Service Department, there appears to be a common thread – dishonesty. My daughter just experienced it first-hand. In her case, Kevin Mid-Town Ford’s Service Department, there appears to be a common thread – dishonesty. My daughter just experienced it first-hand. In her case, Kevin Dowd the Assistant Service Manager, lied to her about a service inspection and diagnosis. By doing so he quite literally created a life-threatening situation for her. Only because her newly replaced engine was still under warranty did she ask the Mid-Town Service Department to determine the cause of a gas-like smell inside her vehicle. When she picked up her vehicle Mr. Dowd assured her that there was ”absolutely nothing wrong with the car”. Even though it was requested, Mr. Dowd refused to provide a copy of the related work order and diagnosis. Skeptical, my daughter immediately took her vehicle to a well-known reputable car service. They quickly and easily identified an exhaust leak at the cylinder head. The smell was from exhaust fumes. Quite obviously Mr. Dowd lied to my daughter that the car had been inspected at all. Because of the severity of Mr. Dowd’s lie that the car had been inspected and nothing was wrong, my daughter and I met with Scott Campbell, Managing Partner to file a complaint. He was offensive and rude, In no uncertain terms he told us that unless we were prepared to provide Mid-Town Ford with positive reviews, they wanted nothing to do with us! We were summarily dismissed. We will never deal with Ford and this dealership again. They have proven to be everything that is bad about the car sales and service business. Their ethics and honesty are questionable. Jim Johnston More
We brought our Ford F150 with serious transmission issues. There were very loud sounds coming from the passenger side during acceleration under load, violent shuddering intermittently, and at one poi issues. There were very loud sounds coming from the passenger side during acceleration under load, violent shuddering intermittently, and at one point we could only get it to third gear up a hill… going about 40kph. We brought it in for the “works” service which was due - and went over the problems we were experiencing. The service guys did the “works” package and sent it over for the techs to look at. They cleared the codes and sent us on our way telling us it was a crankshaft issue they had solved. We are now stuck in Thunderbay with all the same issues. Wish I’d seen all the “one star” ratings. I’ve had one previous experience here which was positive but the latest was pretty crumby. I brought my 2020 F150 in for transmission service. Upon picking up my truck I see on the bill that my exhaust sys but the latest was pretty crumby. I brought my 2020 F150 in for transmission service. Upon picking up my truck I see on the bill that my exhaust system had to be removed during this process because it’s not factory which is fine. When the technician reinstalled my exhaust they didn’t re-secure the O2 sensor wire harness on either side, one of which was rubbing the front drive shaft coupler and they also left the rear transmission mount nuts loose and galled up the transmission dipstick cap pretty badly. After discovering all of this I took pictures and went back to the dealership and showed the service manager the pictures. He told me he found all this hard to believe and that midtown service has one of the best reputations in western Canada. While I was in the service manager’s office the assistant service manager came in and asked me how I was certain that the O2 wires were secured to begin with being the the exhaust system is aftermarket. Well, A: I installed the exhaust myself and secured the wire harnesses with zip ties and B- the tech would have had to disconnect the O2 wiring when they removed my exhaust as stated on my bill so the wires would have needed to be secured upon reinstallation. The service manager restated that the technician that did the work has an excellent reputation and he found all of this hard to believe. He said maybe he could get me a bit of a discount on my next oil change if I would bring my truck in but he’d need to look into it. I told him I wasn’t looking for any type of monetary recompense, I just wanted them to be aware of what condition my truck was returned to me in. The service manager repeated he found it hard to believe, and so I left. Additionally, I was charged for 12 quarts of automatic trans fluid @ 12.50 a quart. After speaking with a ford technician at a different dealership he explained the only way they could have put that much fluid into the transmission is if they drained the entire system, the torque converter, transmission cooler and transmission lines as the entire system holds 12.5 quarts total. He explained to me that if they would have done as I asked (remove transmission pan, replace filter, reinstall pan and refill the fluid) the maximum fluid amount should have been no more than 8 quarts. Furthermore there was an additional charge of 129.99 on my bill for “shop supplies”. No explanation was given on what shop supplies were needed amounting to 129 dollars to do this work. More
I would rate zero stars if I could. I had my truck in there for around 7 months waiting for a transmission part. In that amount of time, my truck had sat in one sport the entire time. T I had my truck in there for around 7 months waiting for a transmission part. In that amount of time, my truck had sat in one sport the entire time. The part I was waiting for was on warranty which was all good. When it was time to pick up the truck they assured me that the battery was going to get replaced due to it sitting without being started in that period of time as well as having the oil changed and all the maintenance that goes along with it to have a perfectly clean vehicle when I pick it up. They ended up charging me for the oil change which I thought they should of included that due to the fact that they had it sitting for that long but whatever. Fast forward a few months after I had the truck, I took it in to Mr. Lube to have a routing oil change done. They asked me when the last time was that I had an oil change done or an entire oil and transmission flush. I explained the Ford situation and that they were suppose to do all that according to a phone conversation I had with the service guy. Anyways nothing was done for maintenance on my truck prior to picking it up. Cost me almost $1200 to have the work done that ford was suppose to do. Anyways, I own a contracting company and am actually in the market for a fleet of vehicles and I was going to go with ford for them but after this whole ordeal I am now going to be going elsewhere. Most likely Murray Chevrolet. I'm now 100% done with Ford. I really do hope there customer service and just all around service really improved. As a business owner, I am super unimpressed with the lack of everything Ford offers. More
They are not able to keep their appointments. Four times in a row I made an appointment, I was the first in line when opening, then around 4:00 I get a call; "Sorry we weren't able to get to you Four times in a row I made an appointment, I was the first in line when opening, then around 4:00 I get a call; "Sorry we weren't able to get to your vehicle today". One of these times when they finally did get to my vehicle, they told me I needed new brakes - but they installed new brakes 6 months ago. They didn't have an explanation foe this - simply "you need new brakes". More

***GO TO A DIFFERENT FORD DEALERSHIP*** if I could give negative stars I would… My buying experience 3 years ago would have been 5 stars, they sure made it easy for me to spend $60,000 on a 2018 F150. B negative stars I would… My buying experience 3 years ago would have been 5 stars, they sure made it easy for me to spend $60,000 on a 2018 F150. But when it came to warranty repairs that is when they started to no longer treat me like a valued customer. It all started with a leaking oil pan, the truck sat in the lot for nearly 4 weeks (not my fault) no courtesy car for nearly a month. When I finally received my truck back it returned with door dings and scratches… when my steering wheel texture began wearing down they told me it was “wear and tear” at 20,000Kms… I had to fight with them to replace that. When my sunroof was making a *clicking* noise they repaired it with Fords recommend repair, which fixes the noise but then made my sun roof open violently to the point where it broke the plastic in the track making opening the sunroof impossible.. obviously it was passed the 60,000km of my basic warranty so that’s when they finally wanted to fix it… oddly enough they quoted me nearly $6000 to repair the sunroof stating they had to pull replace both motors, the tracks, remove the sunroof, headliner, interior etc… so I opted out of the repair… I have been experiencing a growling noise in the front end of my truck for almost 6 months, when first mentioned to the service department they told me they had diagnosed it as a bad bearing/front hub and I had to wait 3 months for it…. I waited all summer for it, once they installed the hub, strangely enough their service order stated they had also basically rebuilt my front differential which was never discussed…. Upon leaving the lot THE NOISE WAS STILL THERE.. when I returned to Ford they sent me to discuss the issue with the service manager who rubbed it in my face and made it known that he’s been working for 35 years and knows my truck better than me.. he then proceeded to tell me the noise was no longer a drivetrain issue but instead it was my tires cupping…. Fast forward 2 weeks and a few thousand dollars in new rims and tires THE NOISE WAS STILL THERE… When returned to Ford the service manager then told me he’d drive me in my truck and listen for the sound.. upon the road test I pointed out the noise to which he told me there was no noise, he told me what I was hearing was normal, he told me All he hears is the drone of my exhaust… MY STOCK 2.7l ECOBOOST MAY I ADD…. He then got confrontational YELLING at me in my own truck while driving me around to the point I felt uneasy. He then told me he’s done with my truck he’s not touching it and that there is nothing wrong with it… WELL listen here Jim Bell… (service manager/ shop foreman) id be embarrassed to rub 35 years of experience in people’s faces when all ive witnessed was improper diagnosis and customer disrespect. I have since taken my truck to a different Ford dealership. They have since repaired the growling noise, and quoted me only $450 to repair my sunroof… Midtown fords service department is the most uneducated and disrespectful staff I have ever dealt with. I’m super disappointed with how we’ve been treated as customers. STAY AWAY FROM MIDTOWN FORD AT ALL COSTS… More
