Was Left Holding a Lemon I bought a used car from Menzies Chrysler 2018 for just over $7000. I had issues with it from the time I bought it. The first problem was wobbling in I bought a used car from Menzies Chrysler 2018 for just over $7000. I had issues with it from the time I bought it. The first problem was wobbling in the steering wheel when going over 90kph. I took it in to have it fixed. They serviced for free but the problem was not fixed whatsoever. I took it back a second time and was shown the calibration results from the first service job and was plainly told that there was no significant adjustment so it was no wonder that there was still a problem. The second time I had them look at the problem it was better but still not solved. The car also failed to start for me on several occasions. I also had them look at this when the car was in for service but they were unable to come up with any solution so I had to drive around with an emergency starter battery in the car at all times. At this point my wife no longer drove the car as she was not comfortable with the idea of having to randomly use the emergency starter battery kit. At the end of the summer I took my family up to the north end of Kawartha Highlands Provincial Park for a canoe trip. Returning to the car it sure enough was completely dead. I though OK no worries I have the emergency starter. Well this time the car would not start no matter what I did. I was lucky enough to have a group of people to try and push the car and so on but the thing was dead. So no working car, with my family and a canoe with the sun going down after a few nights in the park. The situation truly sucked. Bottom line I had the car towed to my local Hyundai dealer in Bowmanville and it turned out I needed a $1600 repair. I wanted to get rid of the car at this point. I called Menzies and asked what they would give me for the car in a repaired and running condition on a trade in. I was offered a few hundred dollars for it by the manager over the phone. The conversation turned ugly from there. I was interested in buying another car from Menzies when I made the call. But as soon as I was offered less than 10% of what the car sells for on the used market not six months after buying it from them I was no longer interested in buying anything. So my $7000 car turned into a $700 car with a brand new set of Continental tires that cost me a grand and $1600 worth of new parts installed. This is math that does not keep customers. By the end of the conversation it became very clear that he had no concern for keeping a customer. He rather bluntly asked me why the *insert curse word here* where we even still talking if I was not going to buy another car from him. To be clear I had not once used curse words in our conversation. Not great management material. My first impression of the dealership was great. The salesperson I dealt with was Becky. I would deal with her again, she was direct, easy to deal with and the process was quick and clean. This review does not reflect on my dealings with her in any way. Service department was unable to fix any of the issues with the car. The used management Karl Durham was not even willing to charge me what it would have cost me to lease the car for six months and put the difference towards another car. He then would have made money on me at both ends of the deal and kept a customer. Instead he made the decision to offer me less than 10% of what the car was worth on the private market and got to deal with the rudest service I can recall receiving. More

The WORST I would highly recommend NEVER BUYING A CHRYSLER vehicle. Their cars are horrible and the service is even worse. All dealerships have a bad reputation I would highly recommend NEVER BUYING A CHRYSLER vehicle. Their cars are horrible and the service is even worse. All dealerships have a bad reputation for being scammers but Menzies Chrysler sure takes the cake. From the very start I've been ripped off in too many ways to count. First red flag was the fact that I was charged almost double than what the car was actually worth. After regretfully making this purchase, I had nothing but problems since. Everytime I brought my car in for problems they said they either couldn't find the problem OR they found the problem, fixed it, but a month later the problem persists. So instead of replacing the problem car part they do a quick temporary fix. I find it awfully convenient that during the 5 years warranty they spent the majority of the time claiming they couldn't find problems and the VERY SECOND my warranty is up, they miraculously find all the problems and they tell me it's going to cost thousands to fix. If I could give a less than one star I would. I was warned by many not to buy a Chrysler car and didn't listen. So I hope someone can read this and learn from my mistake before getting majorly screwed over. More

Unsatisfactory Service Approximately one year old Ram 1500 with 13 500 kms is rusting at some of the weather stripping and the leather is peeling. After pictures being take Approximately one year old Ram 1500 with 13 500 kms is rusting at some of the weather stripping and the leather is peeling. After pictures being taken and waiting several weeks, the decision is to fix the weather stripping issue however, not the leather one due to wear and tear. Attributing the leather peeling to wear and tear is unacceptable as the vehicle is virtually new. The lengthy process labelled Digital Imaging by the dealer is also unacceptable. If the process was digital it would not take nearly as long as it did. More
