STAY AWAY This is going to be a lengthy read but I feel like everyone considering doing business with this dealership should know the experience I went through. This is going to be a lengthy read but I feel like everyone considering doing business with this dealership should know the experience I went through. I brought a TLX from this dealership back in May. This was no doubt one of the biggest mistakes I’ve made. The sales rep I dealt with was trying to add the tire package to the final cost without me knowing. I had to call the rep out on it before she removed the package. The Financial Service Manager was one of a kind. When she failed to up sell any of the extra warranty, rust protection etc, she said "You're willing to put money in front of your family's life? What if the there's rust on the steering wheel and it snaps off while you’re driving and kills them?" Seriously?! As a first time car owner, I was not completely familiar with the car delivery process. The sales rep gave me a bunch of forms to sign, along with the inspection form with all the boxes already checked off. I was excited to put up the car and ended up signing off on the vehicle without realizing which a big mistake on my end was. Right away I noticed there was a scuff on the steering wheel and the car looked like it hasn’t been properly detailed. I had the scuff fixed the day after but it left a mark. The passenger side window had to be replaced due to a scratch. The new replacement was also scratched. However since the scratch was smaller in size and in a less visible area, I left it (hoping to maintain a positive relation). Fast forward a few months, I brought my car in for A1 service along with a list of problems that developed overtime. Out of the 5 issues I mentioned, only 1 was semi fixed. The others were deemed working as intended and were dismissed. For example, one issue I brought up was the windshield wipers. During light mist and with rain sensing wipers on LOW setting, the wipers will sometime start wiping on the highest speed setting. The issue was dismissed and on the service invoice they indicated that it's a setting for customers to adjust. Another issue is the brakehold feature, it will premature apply or reapply on its own when the car is slightly in motion, this is a HUGE safety issue as I almost got rear ended because of this. I was told by the service adviser that there is no problem at all and if I don't like the feature I can turn it off. They even denied updating my car, despite the fact that I received a recall letter from Honda Canada advising the update was needed. I had to call Acura Relations before they would perform the update. Finally my TLX like many others have the rough shifting issue with the transmission. I have had the issue since day one. I brought my car in multiple times, the first time they performed the Idle Learn procedure but it did not fix the problem. The Service Manager Steve F. told me to drive the car more and put 5000km on it. My car now has a bit over 6000km on it and the shifting problem is still there along with a hesitation that happens at times when I try to accelerate quickly. I reached out to Steve again and all of a sudden he claims the transmission in my car is operating as designed even though I never brought the car in for inspection. I was told the software on my car is up to date and there is nothing else to be done. He refused to look into the hardware aspect as a means to fix the problem. He also said cars such as mine that are driven infrequently are probably going to have a more noticeable shift. I find that hard to believe because all the TLX I've test drove never had any shifting issues. Secondly, the mileage on those cars were less than mine. Is Steve implying that the TLX is not meant for the average consumer who does not drive their vehicle as often or they will run into shifting issues? As a result, my car is still experiencing issues with the transmission and nothing is being done. I strongly advise not to conduct business at Markham Acura due to their lack of professionalism, integrity and service. More

bad service I made an appointment with someone for a used car a week ago and was very specific about what time I was going to arrive. When we got there, that sale I made an appointment with someone for a used car a week ago and was very specific about what time I was going to arrive. When we got there, that salesperson ended up being busy so we were given someone else. This new salesperson we got instead was just plain awful. Here are just some of the "highlights": - She didn't know anything about the car. - Getting any information was like pulling teeth - Most of the time was spent in awkward silence - Seemed like she did not want to be there and didn't really want to sell the car - She went to the manager for almost every single question we had - She even got up in the middle of our discussion at one point to speak to her cousin! I sent a complaint to Markham Acura about the poor service days ago and they never even bothered responding. This place clearly does not care about their customers. It felt like I wasn't worth their time since I was only buying a used car. More

My husband and I hadn't realized how busy the showroom was until we actually walked in. Mike one of the sales reps at the store greeted us as soon as we walked in. Even though Mike was already assisting customers at the time of our arrival he still took the time to greet us, and direct us to an available sales rep who could assist us with making our vehicle purchase pleasurable. He truly made us feel like every customer counts!! Rohit was the sales rep we were introduced to. Rohit was incredibly knowledgeable and made our vehicle purchase smooth happy and stress free. He definitely deserves five stars for his customer service skills. Thank you Rohit and Markham Acura for such an amazing experience. More

This is related to my recent horrible experience with Markham Acura for a new Acura MDX Car, never buy car from this group as they have all the bad business practices to lure customers, Ethics is way out of reach and nothing near to customer service you can expect from these guys, stay away is my honest advise... you are better off going somewhere else ... Unethical and deceitful dealership Prior to entering a lease agreement with Markham Acura, I informed their staff that I had an existing 2009 TL lease with Erin Mills Acura which still Prior to entering a lease agreement with Markham Acura, I informed their staff that I had an existing 2009 TL lease with Erin Mills Acura which still had a 3-month life. They assured me that they would buy out the remaining 3 months not just verbally but also in writing in the contract. What they did was reintroduce the balance of the 3-month back onto the contract as a negative equity and carried into the new lease. I returned my 2009 TL to them 3 months ahead of the expiry and incurred an extra 3 months of indebtedness. They assured me time and again that I was not paying for the remaining 3 months when in fact I am, plus I am paying interest on top of the 3 month payment which interest was already factored in. They are playing with words, sure enough, I did not cut a check to Honda for the 3 remaining payments but I was made to carry it in the contract for the next 48 months. You may ask, why then did you go for it? I only went for it because it was the way it was presented to me. I would have waited the 3 months and negotiated a new lease or purchase had they been upfront and honest about it. Sure, I signed the contract but I was misled and the transaction was misrepresented. They withheld material information and however you slice it, it is a sneaky business practice. I know I should have read the contract more carefully with a fine tooth comb and questioned it but seeing the agreement was signed and initialized by their finance manager indicating they were buying out the remaining contract, I became a victim of their deceitful and unethical trade techniques. I communicated with the owner/general manager through a number of e-mails, he obviously sided with his staff and refused to intervene nor a face-to-face meeting by saying he did not wish me to "interrogate his staff". He also cited a phrase to the effect of "a business does not prosper by cheating its customers". They had also inflated the total amount between vehicle lease agreement and the original contract by a difference of over $428.00 as well as another $450.00 on the initial deposit. I went through all the proper channels and protocols through the chain of commands, the manager, the owner/general manager, Honda Head Office and OMVIC. OMVIC investigator knew and agreed that the practice was shady at best but would not do anything to pursue the matter. My suggestion is never buy or at least never lease from this dealership as they will lead you astray and you end up losing a lot of your hard earned dollars if you are too trusting. More
