Dear Jason We thank you for bringing this concern to our attention. As discussed with you at the service counter, we advised you that “powertrain warranty” (which in fact is the only warranty currently on your vehicle) does not cover all aspects of vehicle repair and that a diagnoses of the problem would first need to be completed to ascertain the issue. Once the problem was isolated we would then be able to see if warranty would cover the issue. We advised you that the diagnostic fee for the discovered problem if not covered under powertrain warranty would be payable by you. You agreed to this and we proceeded to identify the problem. Once the issue was discovered we found that the repair was unfortunately not covered under the powertrain warranty. Please note: We do offer to all our valued customers at time of purchase an “extended warranty” option to cover most aspects of repair. Had you accepted this option at time of purchase you would likely have been covered under the extended warranty. We are grateful for your business and sincerely try to make sure we meet all our customer needs. In this case we feel our communication with you was factual and forthright and only preceded to work and bill for work completed on your vehicle, based solely on your approval. Thank you

Yes your right, it was communicated to me that I would have to pay to find out if the problem was covered by my “powertrain warranty” or not. I beleive I payed my bill and left too. What I don't agree with is that I have to gamble $114 at your dealership to see if the problem is covered under warranty. I understand if I had no warrenty and required this diagnose service I would have to pay. However I think that if a customer has any type of warrenty you shouldnt have to pay to run a test to see if the problem is covered or not. This is why people don't return for service after warrenty is done on there vehicles. Oh ya and shame on me for not purchasing the “extended warranty” when the economy was the way it was and HST was being added to essential bills. Even if I did make the purchase you have told me that if the issue wasn't a warrenty covered issue I would still have to pay the diagnoses cost. Shame on you London City Chrysler !

We contacted Jason by phone and agreed to meet with him to hopfully resolve the issue in a way that would acceptable to both he and London City Chrysler. Our offer to Jason is to reduce the cost he incurred by splitting the billing 50 / 50. London City will refund half the charges.
