Though promised (for the cost the very least they could do) the cars wasn't even washed.....came out covered in shop dust and hand prints. Besides the shop guys doing lousy job, the staff were equally useless....3 days to return the 2 messages left. DO NOT SERVICE your vehicle here! Oh ya....they wanted to charge $100/day storage if car left overnight. More
Highly do not recommend this dealership! ! - JLR THORNHILL I know everyone has different opinion but let me share my experience with Land Rover Thornhill also known Land Rover Jaguar Thor ! - JLR THORNHILL I know everyone has different opinion but let me share my experience with Land Rover Thornhill also known Land Rover Jaguar Thornhill. I bought a pre-owned Range Rover Sport from them with CPO warranty in October 2021. Starting March 2022, the car started giving me problems such as clicking noises when starting the car and then low battery warnings when my battery was new. I took the car to the dealership many times. They would keep the car for a few days and sometimes weeks. On June 29th I dropped my car off for the same clicking noise and low battery message issue. This time they kept my car until July 29th and then told me to come pick it up saying the issue was fixed. I picked up the car on August 2nd. On August 6th (4 days after I picked up the car from the dealership), as I was leaving home with my kids, my car started smoking up and caught on fire within 500m of my home!! My car was towed that same day. On August 8th, I went to the dealership and their chief technician (very nice guy who explained me everything and accepted that it’s their mistake not replacing the whole cable) who inspected the car, showed me a video while explaining to me that they must have replaced the entire cable instead of a portion of it, which caused the smoke and fire. The fire was caused due to their carelessness! The fire caught underneath the seat where my 6-year-old son was sitting. Had I not caught it when I did, this situation could have been life-threatening. I had to get myself and the kids out of the car and run to a neighbour’s house to get water to put it out. I didn’t get any updates from them after a while so I ended up having to go to the dealership in person and wait for an hour to see the general manager to discuss the issue. A week later he sent me an e-mail summarizing the discussion we had that day. They refused to even give me at least half the compensation I’d asked for. After that, there was no update from them until I raised the issue with OMVIC, my insurance company and with the Member of Parliament of my riding. After I raised the issue, they rushed the job and today (28.02.2023) after 6 months the General Manager called me and asked me to pick up the car as everything has been fixed. I haven’t been compensated for all the troubles and risks my family and I have been put through by this dealership. Throughout all of this I was still paying my monthly payments for the car, even though it mostly sat at the dealership since I bought it. The lack of empathy and communication from the dealership is unbelievable. I am still fighting my issue but I strongly suggest you avoid dealerships like this one! More
DON’T BUY LAND ROVERS WITH THEM! !! I’ve had an INCREADIBLY TERRIBLE experience with them, especially with sale representative Katie Kong & used-car manager Leo Nunez. Here’s my sto !! I’ve had an INCREADIBLY TERRIBLE experience with them, especially with sale representative Katie Kong & used-car manager Leo Nunez. Here’s my story – I signed a 2022 Range Rover Sport –V8 at beginning of this year, deposit down. Katie told us our order might get rejected by Manufacturer due to chip shortage & low productivity worldwide. And that’s understandable. Several months later, Katie told us Land Rover won’t be manufacturing 2022 vehicles, so our order got cancelled. She also said new 2023 Range Rover Sport will be announced soon, and she could ordered for us. With no new cars information, no releasing dates, Land Rover Thornhill kept our deposit. That’s the FIRST RED FLAG! Although we did not ask for it back, doesn’t mean the way they do their business is correct. You cannot assume your customer will like the new car, look wise, price wise. You should not hold the deposit and tell a customer “Since you have deposit with us, you are on the top of the wait-list” that kind of xxxxxxxx. More cruelly, I just find out recent days - The reality is now other dealers are have their 2023 Range Rover Sport demo cars standing right in the middle of their show room, and Land Rover Thornhill got NOTHING!!! You did your business poorly so you win neither trust from your customer nor priority at your manufacture. SHAME! With no invitation to any launch open house or other activities, I still placed an order for a 2023 RRS-V6 compensating price increase & luxury tax. (About their poor service, I don’t even bother to mention. I understand certain luxury brands do have an attitude from the manufacture to establish their branding this way, but others can do it in a pleased way, especially when you already become a potential customer, sales team in Land Rover just acting…I’m speechless.) Last Saturday, I booked an appointment asking for my present vehicle’s trade-in process. The first minute when I step in their place, they wanted my car key to do an appraisal. Hey, excuse me?! Did I say I’m going to trade-in with your guys???? That’s the SECOND RED FLAG! But what Katie told us was, “Appraisal takes time and our team is very busy. We can discuss our plan while we waiting.” Fine. I give them my key. I sat down and asked several questions about trade-in options. None of them got explained to the stage I would understand. Katie has no math & finance skills AT ALL! She’s not able to explain how the numbers are calculated, and kept telling me without certain number she could not put figures in system. Oh come on! You’ve been selling cars for years! You still can’t explain calculations with concepts instead of real numbers??? I suggest you go back to school. The THRID RED FALG raises while Katie pushed us to do an o/b, which is a credit check. Her reason was bank need time to review our profile. But hello? Where is my car? My car is not coming until Christmas. Why are you checking on my credit before I see my car? As a customer, I’m doing TOO MUCH favor for you already. On that o/b sheet, I see my payment estimate. This is the number I was asking for when I step in an hour ago. I need to do my own finance plan before new car comes in. But I had to sign that sheet to get this number, what a joke! When we got home, we thought through the situation calmly – We wanted a V8 car, that engine is our initial reason of purchasing the car. Now we are looking at a V6, much expensive, higher interest rate, plus luxury tax - this is not what we want. (Besides, the car they listed on the o/b sheet is not the one I ordered. Obviously Katie made that mistake not providing accurate data to their financial team. If I signed a sheet with correct info, will I still get my deposit back? I doubt.) THIS IS NOT THE END OF THE STORY!!! Because I AM STUPID enough to look at pre-owned inventory they have, and trying to spend my deposit on them. A 2019 RRS V-8 come across to my attention. I asked for the price, it’s higher than the market. After a test drive, we sat down with used- car manager Leo to discuss about the deal. He has an arrogant attitude, he’s very confident about his car. I have to admit it’s good condition car and I liked it. He established the rule that he would give a best number he can do and start from there. I respected and waited. The number he gave me, is a 1% drop on a 100 grand car. He claimed this was a lease returned car, so I assume I know the residual value range, and his price is crazily higher than that. Now the drama starts. He said no hard feeling about that number. So I told him the truth that another dealer is selling the same car, same year, a bit more mileage, 10K lower than your price. I’m just stating the fact, with no judgement. I didn’t ask him to match to any price. All I meant to say is the market is going down. And that’s the fact. As soon as I pull out the price I see on Auto trader. Leo stood up, shouted at me, “GO! Go call them and get that deal!! It’s really a good deal! If you don’t call now I’ll call and buy that car!” And he stepped out of the office. I was more astonished than annoyed and frustrated. I had working experience in Auto retailer industry myself. I’ve never seen such RUDE sales person. And especially he’s a MANAGER. THANK YOU Land Rover Thornhill, you OPENED MY EYES! After that, the new car manager Steve came in and appeased us. I told him it’s not only his attitude, his autarchic sales strategy won’t work with most customers. It’s unfair not letting your customer offering their number and stating their demands & thoughts. I understand you can hold your car, and not selling it to the price you don’t feel conformable. That’s totally ok. But customer needs explanation. Why other dealer’s selling at a lower price, and why you don’t. You have RESPONSIBILITY to answer to your customers’ doubts. In the end, I get it. Market is going down. Leo bought back this leased vehicle at a very high price. As a manager, and a GROWN UP MAN, please swallow your own pain. Your customer DO NOT owe you anything. In fact you still owe me my deposit. The second day, I signed an exact same car – 2019 Range Rover Sport –V8, same condition at a different dealer with similar price to Thornhill. Their sales team did a much better job in answering my technical questions, explaining terms and policies well, showing me vehicle documents & histories proactively. They helped us to manage the price land in our ideal range. I can feel their passion in automotive world, and the faith they have in Land Rover brand. Land Rover Thornhill just does not worth any trust and patience. Thanks for teaching me that lesson – DO NOT deal with you guys ANYMORE in ANYWAY. More
