A few weeks later, we took both our vehicles back there and got oil changes done on them. I was very happy with the service and parts departments. The time they took and the quality of work they did. My sister purchased a 'Premium Used' Ford Escape from Lakeland Ford in Prince Albert. In addition she was cajoled into additional warranties, extended warranties, etc. Key to the very BAD experience was this-she asked "has this vehicle ever been in an accident?" and was told that No, it had never been in an accident. It 'looked like it was in excellent condition and she was assured it was very well taken care of. So she went ahead with the purchase- in trust. A couple days later, our brother-in-law who is a journeyman mechanic did his look over. He found significant evidence that body work was done, and also, in some spots, evidence that Salvage parts (not new) were used in repair work. She then did a VIN # search and learned that the 'like new' vehicle she was sold had in fact been in 2 accidents - one of the claims was for $8900. Then she went back to the dealer... Bottom line - they said - oh well too bad. Claimed that as soon as she drove it off the lot it was no longer their responsibility. All those extra warranties she paid for? (Did not apply). They would not return her money, and they would not fix any problems, and they would not even apologize! So- buyer beware if you are looking at Lakeland Ford. They lied (about the vehicle history- later claiming that they did not legally have to disclose that information)and then would not take any (as in NONE) responsibility for their own mistakes... More
