STAY AWAY-TRULY THE WORST OF THE WORST I initially purchased my vehicle ( a 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe) from a GREAT dealer...Mark Wilson's Better Used Cars located in Guelph, Ontario.I also dea I initially purchased my vehicle ( a 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe) from a GREAT dealer...Mark Wilson's Better Used Cars located in Guelph, Ontario.I also dealt with one of many of their excellent sales reps. Rod Sider. Please see my review. Really. They're the best. Anyhow, to continue, I recently received a Recall Notice from Hyundai Canada regarding the replacement of a "stop lamp switch". As I was required to have this work performed at a Hyundai dealer, I opted to go to Kingscross Motor Sports as they are only five mins. away from where I live. I have heard nothing but bad things about them, but on account of Hyundai covering the cost of repair and close proximity to my residence I decided to pre-book an appt. It became readily apparent upon my first call to book my appt. that the lady who served me was overwhelmed by my request. After a lengthy process registering me at this dealership, my appt. time, date and specific reason was all confirmed and set up. A week later, I attempted to attend Kingscross for my appt. but had quite a time finding their Service Centre. It is located in a totally separarate building on a smaller industrial road located behind their showroom and vehicle lot. If one is not carefull, the way their locator signs point, you will (and many people have) drive right into the nearby Donway Ford Service Centre. After a tour of the Donway Ford parking lot, I managed to find the Kingscross Service Center. As this was my first visit to to this dealer, I waited at the service reception desk for an agonizing 20 mins. waiting to check in as required. I would also like to note that I still arrived over 15 mins. early for my appt. I also noticed 2 service advisors present at their assigned areas but I guess they were too busy to help me although there were only 5 customers in the waiting area at the time. At no time did the receptionist acknowledge my presence and continued with a very lengthy conversation with a previous client in an attempt to "upsell" maintenance services. I heard every word of this conversation. This employee had no business "cold calling" existing dealership clients. She had no automotive experience at all...let alone Hyundai experience. This is where I knew in my heart that this place was in deep trouble. While waiting to speak with service reception, I noticed a client walk-in and seat himself at service advisor Edwin Ho's work area. His issues were dealt with without delay. After checking in with reception, my appt. was neither confirmed or disputed and I was motioned to take a seat in the service reception area and that a service advisor would "be with me shortly". By this time, both service advisors were gone and the receptionist left shortly thereafter. Another client entered the building and (you guessed it) seated himself at service advisor Edwin Ho's work area. Upon Edwin's return I attempted to communicate with him but was ignored until after he dealt with his newest client. "Scooped again!!" I'll stop this review for a moment and agree with any reader that I should have walked out of this place or complained to a manager, As I knew I would never have such a bad customer service experience again, I retained my composure to see how things would play out. ... To continue, I had to "register myself and vehicle" with the dealership because I was not on file although I explained I already went through this requirement upon pre-booking my appt. It then became apparent I was never pre-booked at all. I was asked to surrender my copy of my Recall Notice and keys and then motioned to be seated in the service waiting area. No info. was communicated to me at this time. No cost factor. No parts availability factor. No wait time. Nothing. At this point I felt like I was trapped in an elevator with no assistance in sight. I did ask and was advised as to the wait time :30 mins. for this repair to be completed. For the next half hour, I saw a steady stream of clients being handed back their keys and invoices. Not once did any service advisor OR client say "Thank you" or "See you soon" or "Have a good weekend (it was a Saturday)" No greetings or salutations at all. Wow. It was truly like being "In the Twilight Zone". It gets worse....After the indicated wait time, service advisor Edwin Ho handed me back my keys and an invoice without a word. I was not even told where I could pick-up my vehicle. That was it. Thanks for staying with me,readers, I am trying to be brief, but here is a really interesting part of my review.... When I dropped off my vehicle to Kingscross Motor Sports, my "Check Engine " light and "Fuel Level Too Low" warning light were both illuminated upon arrival (and for several days prior to my visit) at this dealership. I wonder how any technician could have missed these indicators? Why didn't they ask about these obvious faults? Please note that unknown to THEM, I had already booked an appt. with my regular auto-techs about cause, repair and warranty coverage. To conclude, instead of running away from this dealership, I slowly packed up my travel bag still in total disbelief as to the events that transpired over the last hour. I met a new client on the way out the door and felt bad as he shrugged his shoulders in disgust upon seeing the abandoned reception desk and empty service advisor stations. I didn't have the heart to tell him that the receptionist had been gone for over 20 mins. and that the service advisors were just ...gone. I'll never know, but I will always wonder if they just walked out of this dysfunctional dealership or were helping some "invisible " clients in the garage area. Lastly, I have used dealerrater.ca for a couple of years now and have relied on their ratings to help me in both my auto purchase and auto service research. Because of people like YOU, who leave detailed auto-related reviews, I believe I have saved thousands of dollars and a lot of headaches. My final thought is this: if you are still interested in dealing with Kingscross Motor Sports, why are they not a proud member of dealerrater...? I hope this review is helpful to at least one person. I hate to hear stories about people being ripped-off. Thank you. More
DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME AT THIS DEALERSHIP This is probably the worst car dealership i have ever been to. It is poorly run and their attitude is very rude. To start off, I wanted to buy a car and this dealership was close by so i decided to give them a try. This would be the first time I was looking for a Hyundai as I have heard great things. I've always driven a Honda. When I walked in on a Tuesday evening, I was not greeted by anyone for a good 20 mins. Not even a single person and no one was busy. After a while, George Ye approached me and seemed nice at first and we discussed the new accent (their entry level car). As i made it clear it was all i could afford at the time. He gave me a few quotes and info and made another appointment for that Saturday. On Sat, my appt was at 9pm but George didn't show up till 10am. already 1 hr late. i should have known then this dealership was a joke. Even then i wanted to stick around and give them a chance. After sitting down for a bit, George would not budge from the posted online price. I have bought cars before and everyone knows, you go in and negotiate a price. If i wanted the online price, I would have bought the car online myself. He continued to try and be sneaky with his calculations when in the end, it was the regular price with a $100 discount. I asked him to go ask his manager and he wouldn't. I really wanted to buy a car (in cash as well so we get a cash price!) After a while he brought his manager to negotiate. His manager said that the accent was not an important car to them because it was too cheap. What an insult! to me...i would think a sale is a sale! The manager's name is Steven Huen who even took offense to me asking for a lower price on the car. He says "when I give you a price, its final! you don't counter with another one!" I let him know that it wasn't personal and just business. but he seemed to be insulted that I even wanted a discount from the sticker price. Of course, there was no deal and I walked out of there. I was only looking for a $500 discount and they said no. unbelievable! DO NOT GO TO THIS DEALERSHIP as apparently, they have a scale on which cars to sell and have a quota to upsell. They are money grabbers and can see someone taken advantage of. Both George Ye and Steven Huen should not be in the business of selling cars. They have no patience of manners. More
I went to the dealer for brake noise problem where Edwin Ho wrote me up at the time he tried to sell me $700 worth of work before my car was looked at I refused and he told me I would have no warranty left. Ho wrote me up at the time he tried to sell me $700 worth of work before my car was looked at I refused and he told me I would have no warranty left. After the vehicle was looked at I was told I need rear brakes and the cost was $458 + tax I agreed and the work was completed in 1.5 hrs. When I got home and looked at my bill I noticed that I was charged $239 in labour for 2.1 hrs labour. Their posted door rate is listed at $103 an hour so when I calculated it I was charged $113 and hour I find this to be very dishonest and I will never return to this dealer nor would I send anyone else to this dealer to be ripped off.
