Hi this is Mike Crete the General Sales Manager here for Kia on Hunt Club. I've spoken to Scott regarding your situation. I understand that the motor in your vehicle had to be changed as repairing it was not an option due to it's condition. Standard shop pricing for labor and parts would have brought your bill to the $5500 range but our service department did manage to get this down to $3660 for you. I see that as a significant discount of $1900 demonstrating their willingness to help you. Now on the other side of the coin you were offered $500 for the vehicle on trade at other one of our other Dilawri locations where you purchased a new van. I can see how this could be very frustrating to anyone who just spent $3600 on repairs only to find out that unfortunately vehicles get to a point where the cost of repairs can exceed the value of the vehicle. We've all been there at some point making that exact same decision. Do I fix it or do I trade it in? Now we can't undo the repairs that were done to the vehicle. We did buy a used motor and paid technicians to remove the damaged engine and install the new one so that is not an option. We still would like your experience to be a positive one here at KIA on Hunt Club so I will ask you...what will it take to achieve that? truth hurts responded

Hey Mike, It is not as simple as what you said. the entire story is much more than could be said here. it did not start with a "replace motor" issue. I took car in to have engine cleaned and replace all belts (trying to keep it short here). after they did all that at cost of 1500$ they told me car still had problems. they said engine was real clogged and cheapest option is to replace engine (this is the issue..why didn't they tell me about engine BEFORE doing the 1500$ of work, I made it clear from start that the engine was the issue). so after spending 1500$ I decided I might as well spend some more and get my car running. but after they replaced engine the car STILL sounded real bad and felt like stalling, that's when I decided to give up on it and not spend anymore (and they went ahead and did MORE work and had the nerve to say I owed more money). I am not that dumb and would not have agreed to spend 3600$ on the car if the "experts" at KIA would have told me that from the start instead of doing the wrong work for 1500$ and only then realizing that the engine was the issue (even though I told them and they should have seen it at from the start of the job). I was mislead to think I would have a working car after 1500$..then I'm told no it will cost another 2000$..then I'm told no it will cost you more etc. lucky I stopped them when I did or who knows how far these crooks would have taken me. sorry but that is the REAL story. not the simple example you gave. and it is still not right to be telling me how much money I'm saving with EACH new amount of repair while my car is still not drivable and you keep taking money from me. this was not your typical situation that you described about a car reaching the point where repairs cost more than it's worth etc.
