I have not attended this dealership yet but just got off the phone with Adrianna Aksu from Ken Shaw Toyota. PLEASE READ THIS IN FULL BEFORE YOU PURCHASE ANY VECHILE FROM KEN SHAW. I’ve included only the facts in this review. In July of 2021 Toyota Tacoma from Ken Shaw. I understood that this was during Covid an FROM KEN SHAW. I’ve included only the facts in this review. In July of 2021 Toyota Tacoma from Ken Shaw. I understood that this was during Covid and it may be delayed as a result. I was told on two occasions over the course of 11 months that my Tacoma was in production and would ship in the next 30 days. Both times, I received a call back from Joe Galluzo the sales manager that the Tacoma I ordered was no longer available. In June of 2022 I had a vehicle stolen from my driveway and I was desperate to have the Tacoma I ordered delivered. I called Joe Galluzo and he said the model I ordered won’t be available until Sep/2022, but he had two new Tacomas on the lot. We went through the specs and I agreed on one of the two. I was specifically looking for a Tacoma with extra safety features. When I arrived at the dealership to meet Joe Galluzo he said he made a mistake and the truck was no longer available and instead he presented me with a Tacoma we never discussed. I was desperate and I accepted this model under the conditions that in September, when the truck I originally ordered came in, I could trade this Tacoma at fair market value. I paid cash for the new Tacoma and was on my way. This is when the big issues surfaced. I went to register the Tacoma with Toyota and I could not get the registration to work. I called Toyota Canada, and they told me that this vehicle had already been registered with another customer. I called Toyota Canada back and was told they can clear the old customer data, but this Tacoma did not have full warranty since it was already registered to another customer. None of this was disclosed to me and the bill of sale clearly stated the Tacoma was new and with full manufacturers warranty. At this point Paul Shaw stepped in and the situation went from bad to much worse. Paul Shaw disclosed to me that he would find a way to get my warranty covered, BUT proceeded to disclose that there was a lien on the Tacoma. He asked me if I had put a lien on the Tacoma and I said no, I paid in cash why would there be a lien on the Tacoma? My Insurance company asked me to limit my driving until the lien was discharged. It took weeks for Ken Shaw Toyota to have the lien removed and then I found out that the loan/lien was not fully discharged and instead amended. An amended loan means that the loan history is tied to my vehicle and shows up on Carfax. I have been working directly with Desjardins to have the loan fully discharged with no trace back to me. In summary I purchased a NEW vehicle from Ken Shaw Toyota and paid in cash. Ken Shaw Toyota did not disclose that vehicle was previously registered, and the Toyota warranty was not what was advertised. They also did not disclose there was a lien the Tacoma that I paid cash for. Had I not investigated it, I would be driving a vehicle with less warranty and with a lien on it that did not belong to me. Paul Shaw did reluctantly provide me with a basic extended warranty because he legally had to. He also agreed to take back the vehicle with a very small amount of compensation. His offer to take back the Tacoma was during Covid when used vehicle with low km’s were selling way over list price. He was just trying to make more money! In the end, I asked Paul Shaw to deliver the truck I originally ordered and take this model back at market value and he said no. This was reasonable resolution given what I went through. Again, another opportunity for Ken Shaw to profit for the sale of a hard-to-get model which I originally ordered and as far as I am concerned still on order. I’m sure Toyota is not aware that Ken Shaw is not following through on the delivery, instead selling the Tacoma I ordered to someone else. Consider buying from a larger more reputable Toyota Dealership More
