Relatively Painless Process We started a brand new business and leased a 2019 Ioniq Plug In Hybrid. Very happy with the car so far. Depending on how and where you drive, from wh We started a brand new business and leased a 2019 Ioniq Plug In Hybrid. Very happy with the car so far. Depending on how and where you drive, from what we're seeing you can expect a range of 1.9L per 100 km (148 mpg on short local trips) to our highest rate of consumption we've experienced so far at 4.1L per 100km (68 mpg on a return trip to Kelowna). I expect that would fall a little bit to around 60 mpg or so on a long trip to Calgary or something like that. We really like the zero emissions piece of local short drives on electric only. When looking to find the right vehicle for us, did our homework and that took us a couple of months. We see the future is electric, so we're using this vehicle as our learning platform for how to convert over to electric. There's a few habits you should probably change. We really appreciated that our sales contact Rinder didn't push us or try to use use any of the classic high pressure closing techniques. He quickly responded to any requests for information we had. If he didn't know something, he went and found out. He checked in with us once in a while to see where we were at, but not in an aggressive way. I would recommend him for his client relations skills alone to anyone. No major issues with the dealership or the administrative process. Went in for a winter tire install, and quite impressed with the service department so far. The one piece of advice I have to any potential electric/hybrid owners is to do your research. Specifically, find out about how to drive an electric vehicle, how to access the growing number of charging sites (most are free and fast charging but in many you have to join a network like FLO), and how to set up a fast charging system at home. The charging cord that comes with the car plugs in to any wall socket but takes about 7 hours to charge from empty. You can go online and get quick charging systems for your home that range considerably from about $200 to $2000 or more. Some are plug-in portable, and others are permanently wired in. Your choice. Either way, over the course of owning the vehicle, your purchase for a home based charging system will pay back in fuel savings. The only advice I have for the dealership is to learn more about owning and driving an electric/hybrid vehicle. Become the experts so that people will come to you for this knowledge. Maybe hold an informational monthly seminar and offer free coffee or something like that. More
