I apologize for the poor experience. I looked into your concern as soon as I reviewed your comments. I noticed on your service work order that the only item that your car came into our service department for was a brake inspection as you were concerned the previous visit it was noted that the fronts were low last visit. We performed the inspection as for your request which does require us to remove the wheels and put the vehicle on the hoist. There is a cost to this of $47.98 as we have a technician perform this work and also for the time invested in doing so. Once the inspection was completed we indeed recommended a break service. This is optional as you are aware and you choose to decline the work. However I am still concerned that you did not find this visit pleasant. I would like to speak with your personally to hear where we lost your confidence in us. I sincerely appreciate the feedback and look forward to chatting with you. Craig Sabourin General Manager

Industry standard is that checking the brakes is free if you do the expected work. I am 73 years old and have never before paid to have a brake check done, even on my motor home. I did suggest that we do an oil change while it was in the shop but your quote of $68 which is pretty well double the market made me decide against this M Anderson

Good day. Thank you very much for your response. I took the time to call a few other dealerships and small shops in the Duncan area. All shops mentioned they in fact charge for a break inspections. Your rear brakes are known as drum brakes. To inspect these as you requested, the technician must put the vehicle up on the hoist, remove both rear wheels and take the brake apart to inspect. This does take time, staff, and the usage of our shop supplies. The client, your wife, was aware of these items. She came into the dealership specifically for a break inspection. I apologize you believe this kind of work should be free, however because of this wo0rk requires a hourly paid technician, a hoist, and other tool usage, there is a cost. I am willing to offer a free oil change for this vehicle during your next visit in an attempt to restore your confidence. I apologize you may be frustrated and I hope my offer is a sign of good faith from the dealership.

Good day. Thank you kindly for allowing me the opportunity to personally look into your concern. Upon review of the work order it was documented that the client came in asking for only a brake inspection. There were no other services requested and or performed. We then proceeded to bring the vehicle into the mechanics shop, raise it up on the hoist, and remove all four wheels to inspect the brakes as your requested. With drum brakes we must remove the wheels to access the brakes. The complete inspection was completed in approximately 30 minutes. This was the inspection requested and signed off on by the client. We then put the wheel back on and advised that they simply be serviced and not replaced. We also completed a FREE of charge multi point vehicle inspection Upon arrival for pick up you were upset at the bill of $49.95 for this inspection. My service manager tried to speak with you to inform you of the work that was completed and understand your concern. It is unfortunate that you were not able to make the time to chat with him. I look forward to having you back for the complimentary oil change I have since extended to you for any misunderstandings.
