I purchased a new Honda vehicle from this dealership several years ago. There was an issue with the warranty start date as my new vehicle had previously been ordered by another customer who didn't like several years ago. There was an issue with the warranty start date as my new vehicle had previously been ordered by another customer who didn't like the exterior color so he ordered another car from them but in a different color. The issue was that Honda Downtown had already registered the start date for the new car warranty for 45 days earlier which was supposed to be the delivery date of this vehicle to the previous customer. I noticed this discrepancy when I took delivery of my new car from them and I even had the General Manager initial on my copy of the Bill of Sale that he would amend the warranty start date with Honda Canada. This apparently was never done as I noticed this oversight about 6 months ago. I called the dealership and spoke to my sales rep and he apologized for the oversight on behalf of the dealer (but this was not my sales reps error). So I called and spoke to the new General Manager as the previous GM was no longer working there. Anyhow the new GM wouldn't amend the warranty start date as I couldn't find my copy of the BOS with the previous GM's initials on it. Honda Canada was fully aware of the warranty start date discrepancy as I had called them when I first took delivery of my new car. I also notified them again about 6 months ago when I realized that the dealership still had not done their originally promised due diligence to amend the new vehicle warranty start date to my original date of delivery. Honda Canada promised me that I would be covered for an extra 45 days in the event that I had a warranty claim. The issue that I have is not with Honda Canada but with the previous GM at this dealership who never did his due diligence to change the warranty start date to my actual date of delivery on my new Honda vehicle and then the present GM refusing to amend the warranty start date for me because I didn't have my copy of the BOS with the previous GM's initials on it. My sales rep at the dealership who still works there knew about this issue so he should have informed the new GM that this issue had actually happened. Honda Downtown really dropped the ball by failing to do their original due diligence and even after a change in General Manager they still refused to amend the warranty start date. As a result of this issue, my trust in this dealership would score a 1 out of 10! More
I had found a vehicle I wanted to test drive. I set up a time via emails. Before leaving (on my 2 hour drive) we spoke and he said he’d have it all ready for me. I was within 10 mins of the dealer so I wrote an email letting him know. He replied to me and said ‘oh it sold a little while ago’ You wouldn’t think to contact me since I had a 2 hour drive?? Some sort of contact. I will never return to this dealer, and I will be sure to tell anyone else looking for a vehicle to avoid them. Not even a sorry or anything.. work all week, get two days off, and now one is a complete waste of time and money. More

I purchased a car with Honda Downtown earlier on this month. I worked with Kenny Kim and his work was absolutely fantastic, his dedication and persistence made this a reality for me. While I can speak of him highly, I cannot say the same for the dealership and communication with other parties involved. I had outstanding fines and had them arranged to be paid within hours, so that car registration can get done. I was supposed to pick up the car on Friday 17th at 3pm. At 2.40pm on the 17th, while in Uber to dealership, I get a call that my car is not ready yet, due to registration delays from the fines on file. $22.16 for the ride, plus another $13.99 on uber after, wasted. Two people who were supposed to sign off a cheque for me were not in the office on Friday afternoon to do it. The dealership offered no compensation, “you will get your car on Monday”. I am divorced and was co-parenting two kids that weekend and had made plans accordingly. On Monday morning the 20th, I followed up in person, trying to figure out school drop offs, pick-ups, extracurricular activities. I was welcomed with white lies at the reception desk. While scrambling to pick up my kids with TTC from two different schools on a tight schedule, I got a text at 2.30pm that my car was ready for pickup. I picked up the car 2h and $26.33 later, having to uber the kids over. I bought 3 cars from 3 different dealers in the past 4 years, and they all came with a full tank of gas -the least a dealer could do for a customer. Not at Honda Downtown this time. $29.33 for the gas top-up. I use this car to drive for Lyft at times, and the safety certificate expired on Sep 19th. I had to do another safety inspection to register it for Lyft. If only I were able to pick up the car as they agreed, on Sep 17th. $60 spent on the updated safety. I could have averted the uber costs had the dealership told me on Friday morning the 17th that the car could not have been picked up at their agreed day/time. I could have planned my parenting weekend better. The total cost for their poor communication and delivery: $151.81 that I incured. The price for my family’s disappointment over a sour failed weekend -priceless. I asked the dealership if they wish to go over my review and my person of contact did not respond to me. Not sure if this is how they do business and customer service usually, but I found it extremely unprofessional and disappointing; I felt treated as a person of some lower class or alike. More
