I would like to personally thank Rachel and Jeremy for making the purchase of my new Kia Soul such a smooth experience. Making these kinds of purchases is often fraught with stress, but this really was q making the purchase of my new Kia Soul such a smooth experience. Making these kinds of purchases is often fraught with stress, but this really was quite painless. First, Rachel did a wonderful job of showing me the vehicle I was interested in and answering all my questions regarding the vehicle. She also took me on a great test drive that enabled me to really get to know the vehicle. Then, after some haggling, when we settled on a price, Jeremy took us painlessly through the finance end of things. And the very next day my new vehicle was ready to drive home. I’ve since driven down to San Diego and everything on my Kia Soul has worked like a charm. I look forward to further warm and friendly relations with all the staff at Harris Kia. More
My previous experience of purchasing a car was an absolute nightmare that gave me my first full blown anxiety attack. Needless to say I was very cautious entering the dealership. We needed a 'commuter' car and had decided on a Kia Soul. We had spoken with Grant on the phone and set up a time to see one of the used Kia Souls'. We met Grant for our appointment. He was professional, calm, knowledgeable and straight forward. All my questions were answered. (I tend to be a well informed shopper before making any large purchases) Grant was honest with us when we were weighing the pros and cons of new versus used and in negotiating the price. The overall feeling of the dealership is not one of high pressure sales, the employees are smiling and seem to be honestly customer service oriented. A refreshing find these days where a lot seems to be focussed on sell, sell, sell! Our positive experience carried over with the financial process and dealing with both RJ and Randy. The short and long of it...we drove away in a lovely little Kia Soul. What a huge difference from my last experience of buying a vehicle. We will not hestiate to recommend Harris Kia, Nanaimo to our friends and family for buying a new or used vehicle. More
All I can say is "fantastic"! Rachel came all the way to Ladysmith to pick us up because our old car was in the shop being repaired, so we had a really good test drive back to Nanaimo and Rachel the way to Ladysmith to pick us up because our old car was in the shop being repaired, so we had a really good test drive back to Nanaimo and Rachel gave us lots of info and answered all of our questions during that time. My husband and I always like to throw a little humor into everything we do and Rachel and Jeremy picked up on that and returned the favor. We felt like we were having a great visit with friends while getting all of the paper work done. Because we couldn't get there until later in the day, Rachel and Jeremy had to stay well past closing time to complete the sale. Having worked in retail for many years I know how hard it can be to stay late and remain cheerful when you've had a long day. From the questions that Rachel had asked over the phone, earlier in the day, she had the exact type of Kia Soul we were looking for, even the right color, for our test drive. We had "great" sevice, got a "great" car for a "great" price and had some "great" laughs during it all!! A "great, big thank you" to Rachel and Jeremy. We will be telling all of our friends and family and we'll be back one day ourselves. More
I bought my first Kia Rio 5 in Feb. 2010 at Harris Kia from Dave Bare. I loved that car so much. All of my experiences at Harris Kia were great. Once again I came back to Harris Kia as my first choice in looking for a car.We met Dave Bare again and he introduced us to Randy Hellerand and Chad Stewart.Chad took us for a test drive in a Kia Spectra 5 and I loved the car.Chad is such a nice guy and very personable. Randy Heller did all the negotiations and he was great to work with as well.Chad followed up in getting me an extra key for the car and was in touch with me as to when I would be receiving it. I felt well taken care of in every way in buying my 2009 Kia Spectra 5.The car was spotlessly clean inside and out and they cleaned it all for me making me feel like I was driving out in a brand new car. I have had 4 or 5 auto purchases through auto dealers in my lifetime. I am wary of high pressure auto sales. One of my purchases turned out to be a bit of a lemon, several were reasonable, one was the pu my lifetime. I am wary of high pressure auto sales. One of my purchases turned out to be a bit of a lemon, several were reasonable, one was the purchase an excellent new vehicle where the salesman was clearly out for a better commission as opposed to my satisfaction ( he tacked on disability insurance which I didn't notice until several months later despite my explicit request not to ). I know I should have read the fine print but you you should be able to trust sales people not to give you something you explicitly refused in the first place. That's the kind of thing that gives auto salesmen a bad rep and for that reason I will never deal with that salesman again and very likely his Dealer as well even though there was nothing wrong with the vehicle itself. That was a brand new vehicle and big mistake on their part. That shortsightedness cost that dealer and salesman any future business I may have brought him. My experience with Harris Kia I have to say was the best auto purchase experience I have had from an actual Automobile Dealer. We were from out of town and had talked with RJ from the beginning. He had preliminary approvals already in place before we even got to the Dealer. When we got to the dealer RJ was busy with other clients but Ahmed and another Rep were willing to answer all my queries as my wife and I looked at vehicles knowing full well we had committed to dealing with RJ. That struck me as a sales team acting more like a family than sales people out only for themselves. They knew I was dealing with RJ but took time to help us till he was free. Some of my experiences with other dealers lead me to believe they would only to willingly step in to complete a sale at the expense of one of their coworkers for their own personal gain. At Nanaimo Kia my experience shows an excellent Sales team and family atmosphere I haven't come across before. It also shows Real Class in my opinion on behalf of the entire Sales Team which totally reflects well on the Dealer itself. RJ was awesome and had to get entirely creative to make this deal work. I would buy through him again without hesitation based on my recent purchase. We encountered new barriers even after initial approvals had been given but He simply overcame all barriers from making the best deal that was right for us and his dealership. Thats a win win every day. I also met Rachel Roy and really liked her attitude and personality. I know RJ is usually on the finance end of things and doesn't usually dabble in actual sales so I have no doubt I will probably look to deal with Rachael next time as my next choice other than RJ himself. Based on my experience I know I could probably deal with any of the sales reps at the KIa Dealer but I know I will try dealing with Rachael first if she is available. OK I ended up buying a used Honda from a KIA Dealer. We have both a Honda Dealer and a KIA Dealer in my home town a little over an hour away close to 100 kms away. I say that to say this. I was so impressed with the people and the deal I made I will not hesitate to make the trek back to the Nanaimo Harris Kia for my next auto purchase even though I could easily obtain the same vehicles right where I live. When buyers are willing to go out of their way and considerable inconvenience to deal with an out of town Dealer it says a lot about the dealer they are willing to do business with. Auto dealers competitors should take note of that. I have read some of the other Reviews for Harris Kia and know there are other out of towners willing to make the same commitment as me based on good experiences with other sales Reps at Kia. My experience here at Kia is going to bring me back again again as certainly as some past experience will keep me from going back to other Dealers. I am glad I didn't do this review at the Dealer because now the deal is down I have reflected on the whole experience I realize how good it worked out and how many obstacles RJ had to work through to get it done. Enough said, we are completely satisfied customers and will be returning for future purchases entirely because of the Sales Team and overall process. If they replicate the experience in future purchases we may never go to another dealer again. Vehicle Dealers should be investing and catering to future sales with the same clients and I feel Harris Kia in Nanaimo did exactly that for us. More
