Awesome experience buying my first brand new car! I recently purchased my first new car at Harris Kia and could not be happier with the experience. The weekend before we had purchased a new truck for I recently purchased my first new car at Harris Kia and could not be happier with the experience. The weekend before we had purchased a new truck for my boyfriend from a dealership in another city and the experience was absolutely terrible. Eventhough we were driving away in a shiny new truck, we were bitter and grumpy and clouded in negativity from the very poor interaction we had with the circular-talking and less-than-genuine salesman and other, all older male sales staff. Based on this poor experience and other brief car shopping attempts met with clingy, fast-talking, annoying salespeople, I definitely came on to the Kia lot with my defenses up. Also, as a younger woman I felt guarded that I could be taken advantage of and treated like I didn't know what I was looking for. Chris, approached me on the lot and happily answered all my questions and showed me several vehicles and explained the differences in trim levels. I immediately had a better feeling about him; I felt like he was truly listening to me and waiting to hear my questions and help me answer them intead of answering questions I didn't ask and trying to sell me something I didn't want. It was right at the end of the business day when I took a car for a test drive and when I returned to the lot, the sales manager, Jeremy came and introduced himself and asked how it went. I was pleasantly surprised. When we bought my boyfriend's truck from the other dealership, we were not allowed to speak with the sales manager or the finance manager until we had already sat through three frustrating hours of too much talking with the salesman who went back and forth to the managers "negotiating on our behalf." Such a crock. I left the Kia lot that day to do some further comparison shopping and was happy to not receive nagging phone calls. I returned a week later and asked to take a car on an over-night testdrive which I was pleased was permitted - afterall, this was a major purchase for me! When I returned the next day, Big Al took care of me in the finance department and made sure I was able to get the rate/term that worked for me. At Harris Kia, I truly appreciated the transparency of their set up and the genuine friendliness of their entire staff. I didn't just shake hands with my salesman, I hugged him when all was said and done! I feel like I could go for drinks with this staff and have a great time. I hate to point out the younger average age of the staff here as a contributing factor to my comfort and enjoyable experience but I do think it made the staff more relatable. They were knowledgable, helpful, and very professional without the stereotypical, sleezy car salesperson stigma (that can be demonstrated by salespeople of all ages and genders). I also appreciated that there were several women on staff in all departments. This made the dealership more approachable and welcoming for me as well. Overall, Harris Kia gets an A+ from this teacher. I could not be happier with my car-buying experience and seriously love driving my sporty new Kia Soul! I absolutely recommend this dealership to anyone considering buying a new or pre-owned vehicle. More
A truly great experience in buying a car! We were searching for a car for over a month and went to a number of different dealerships. Some salespersons were okay, some were downright rude and terrible. Harris Kia was our last stop today after a few other places. Our experience with Kurt Mason at Harris Kia was terrific right from the start. He listened, he laughed, he was genuinely interested in helping us find something that would work for us. When we liked the car we ended up buying but were not so happy with colour etc, he helped us get the deal that would work for us and we bought it right then. The experience from the moment we first shook hands with Kurt to this being the car that won us over finally (Kia Soul) was of a "rarely seen these days" high standard of excellence. It was truly a pleasure meeting him. He also went the extra distance--literally ! As only one of us drives at this time, he drove us 50 KM home on his own time and we drove him back. This was really appreciated. I would highly recommend him to any buyer and to his employers as a real gem and they are lucky to have him. We felt we had really made a genuine human connection and that was important to us. Al Foster who dealt with the money end was very personable and great to deal with also. Fantastic experience, start to finish I came in on Saturday with my mom, later joined by my son, with a pretty good idea of what I was looking for, and a little frustrated and guarded from I came in on Saturday with my mom, later joined by my son, with a pretty good idea of what I was looking for, and a little frustrated and guarded from previous stops at other dealerships over the past couple of weeks. My expectations were low, and my experience ended being anything but. Natalie was fantastic, listening to my needs, and showing me plenty of options. This was a big purchase for me, my first vehicle owned only by myself, and I've spent a fair bit of time doing my research. In all my searches, which covered many dealerships from Victoria to Nanaimo, Natalie was the first sales associate I've met who didn't shut me down when I expressed knowledge (to the contrary, she congratulated me), the first who didn't hedge around numbers or try to sell me a vehicle beyond my means,, and the first who actually felt genuine. My search had been getting more and more frustrating and demoralizing, and it was wonderful to feel like I had someone on my side for a change. I fully realize that this is the sales associate's livelihood as well, but there are classy and graceful ways to make sales and Natalie was the fun epitome of that. From Natalie,to Ashley in Financial to Kylee from ICBC who assisted me with getting new plates and insurance, everyone was wonderful. The place was incredibly busy, with lots of sales happening,, and I know that everyone was juggling lots of customers and paperwork, but I was never made to feel like anything but a valued customer, Waits for various things like financing, getting the car in for a final cleaning, having my old van assessed for trade in were all minimal, and seamless, making the process feel like a well choreographed dance between departments. The energy among all the staff was high and upbeat, even when we were still there past closing on a Saturday evening, getting all the paperwork done. Not actually intending to purchase, I had a massive amount of stuff in my van. Natalie not only found boxes but stayed and helped transfer things over to my new car (2009 Kia Rondo EX). This entire experience was truly above and beyond what I expected, especially in light of my recent experiences. I'll be certain to recommend others come to Harris Kia, even suggesting they come up from Victoria to shop, as I did. More

The staff were welcoming and remembered us from the first time through. We worked primarily with Chris Martens and Jeremy Allen but also spent time speaking with Dave Bare. Everything was organized for an easy paperwork progression and we weren't kept waiting for anything. Even in the days following when my husband had some questions, they were at the ready to help and find a solution to his questions.
