Horrible Service I purchased a 2018 Equinox premier, and have been getting all the work/repairs done at Gus Brown. Clunk in rear suspension; 2. Wireless charging pad not working; 3. Clunk noise under gas pedal (still not fixed); 4. Rattle noise in muffler (was replaced and needs to be replaced again); 5. Battery replaced; 6. Front brake pulsation; 7. Rear differential replaced (in a car less than a year old!); 8. Driver side trim panel coming away from fender by tire; 9. Torque converter in the transmission!!!! 10. Radio screen overheats and flashes from screen to screen to screen. I have been in a rental since June. It is now September. The car is still not fixed. I have been in touch with GM Canada and have been dealing with the Executive Review Board. We got to the point that the Service Manager (Mike) and the lady from the Executive Review Board (Crystal) both agreed that there has been far too many issues with the vehicle and because we have a child with health concerns that we travel to Sick Kids with on a regular basis, they wanted us out of the car. It is unreliable. The District Manager has said no, we are getting the car fixed and we can take it or leave it. I would like to mention there is a huge conflict of interest in regards to this district manager. He should not be making any decision on the vehicle as he has bias towards me. We went from they were trying to get me out of the car to now, it basically sucks to be me and they will fix the car. They have no care for the fact that I am travelling long distances with my child and have a lemon of a vehicle. They do not back their product. I would not recommend this dealership or GM as a whole. My car is still sitting at the dealership waiting to be ‘fixed’. I have only ever bought GM but this will be the last time I ever purchase a GM vehicle if this is how you treat your customers. More

Oil Change Jokers Why do they charge so much for an oil change? I called to ask if there were any specials. No. I said do you price match? Yes... But, apparently not. I Why do they charge so much for an oil change? I called to ask if there were any specials. No. I said do you price match? Yes... But, apparently not. I brought in proof of price for Road Ready $59.99 Canadian Tire. Gus Brown wants $99.99 for same. Their excuse: We use better oil!!!! $40 worth of better oil? I don't think so. Outrageous lies, they do not price match and they apparently don't need the business! Do not go to GB Port Perry for an oil change....EVER!!! AND on top of that: I actually bought my $60000 car there! JOKERS... More

I expected more I had a tire issue, I was told it was a manufactures defect, they wrote GMC's 1-800 number on a card and made me call GMC and never followed up to see I had a tire issue, I was told it was a manufactures defect, they wrote GMC's 1-800 number on a card and made me call GMC and never followed up to see how it went. 3 weeks later GMC did call me, by then I had bought a new tire with my own money. They called us to pick up my wife's car, they handed her the key and the interior smelled like dog and the 2 front seats hadn't been cleaned at all. We had to wait with our 6year old and our 13 month old baby for an hour so they could finish what they said would be all taken care of at time of pick up, "don't worry" they said, "you can come pick up the car now, it's ready". When I got her car home the voice and language was in french. Why didn't they check that? Made me wonder what they didn't check? I had to call on star on my car to have them walk me through how to change it to English. It took me an hour. My wife's car now jumps forward while it's idle (stopped) and in drive, blows black smoke on certain accelerations and shakes. Gus Brown Whitby: Took my car in for an oil change and tire rotation, charged me for both, didn't do the tire rotation. Had to take it back the next oil change to have it done. Was having the same issue as my wife with the transmission jumping at idle. I wanted to get it looked at, they asked me if the check engine light was on, (it was not), then told me it would cost me more to have them figure it out because they would have to check everything? I should mention, we both have extended warranties. Had an appointment this weekend (Saturday) for AC,brakes and oil change. When I got there I was asked if anyone phoned me to tell me the AC tech wouldn't be in, I was never called. There's a re-call on my car (obviously not their fault) but it had to be looked at to identify the extent. They told me the body shop wasn't open and they would call me Monday to book an appointment for the re-call and re-book the AC tech, they never called I had to call at the end of the day Monday to book my appointment. They asked how many KM's were on my car because if it was over 60000, I wouldn't be eligible for a free rental while they repair the re-call. All in all, I wish we hadn't purchased our vehicles (Terrain/Cruze) from Gus Brown, I heard good things about them, but if I could do it again, I would have went else where. I also understand these are GM products, but I bought them from Gus Brown and to me that makes them accountable. More

Over the holidays I arrived late in the afternoon and asked if someone could help me as I needed air in all four tires as I was leaving to drive to Florida on Boxing Day, A young lady in the service department stated that she thought that all the staff had left, but she would check for me. A few minutes later she came back with a well mannered young man called Luke who immediately asked what he could do to help me. Without delay, he put the required amount of air in my tires and also installed my new security cover to shield luggage etc. in the rear of my Acadia. I was relieved to know that I had the adequate amount of air in the tires before I took off. I just wanted to commend this young man for the professional way he handled my concerns. He is certainly an asset to the wonderful maintenance department at this dealership. Regards, Fay Macintyre More
