Guelph VW would 100% be getting a negative review from me. This review is specific to the Service and Parts department. If you want parts this calendar year, don’t go here. Go literally ANYWHERE else. Especially if you choose to have quoted work done by another qualified mechanic for considerably less. I was quoted out well over $5000 in repairs. When I asked how long it would take to get the parts, I was told within a week. That was the end of JUNE. It is now almost the end of AUGUST and I have put 300km on that June oil change, spent hundreds of dollars on rental cars and extra home delivery fees because altho the parts have been ordered (over a month ago), the parts department at Guelph VW just cannot seem to get their xxxx together. Excuse after excuse. Any other VW dealership can obtain the parts required to do the repairs within 1 week - I have called around. Yet Guelph VW seems to want to prolong the process. Would like to make it very clear that Gabriel is a great salesperson. He assisted us in narrowing down our vehicle selection for THREE family members (2 new VW SUV's and 1 used). We were ready to purchase w salesperson. He assisted us in narrowing down our vehicle selection for THREE family members (2 new VW SUV's and 1 used). We were ready to purchase within a few hours of shopping with them as he was very knowledgeable, friendly, and really understood what we were all individually looking for in our vehicles. As we were buying three vehicles we thought it would be fair to ask for a deal. Unfortunately, the Sales Manager, who Gabriel had to report to for each and every request, was not willing to budge and didn't come out to chat with us - making the process extremely long, tiresome, disrespectful, and a complete waste of time. It felt like we were on an episode of "Deal or no Deal" but the banker isn't willing to make you ANY deal! They will throw in a optional maintenance package - valued at $585 or thereabouts - which will get you a few "free" oil and filter changes - done by VW only, and imagine what their cost is on that service! I'm sorry Howie, "NO DEAL!" Needless to say, we will not be purchasing our vehicles from this dealership. Upon finding this site and their other negative reviews, we now understand why our experience was what it was. It's unfortunate to be fellow business owners in Guelph and to have to take our business outside of the City to find our cars. We were planning to purchase more vehicles for our family and employees, however they will not get any future business from us. We don't write reviews often, if ever, but my husband called to speak with Gabriel to let him know how much we appreciated his time and attention. We unfortunately will not be supporting him on this transaction, to no fault of his own, but wish him well and hope that the Management team can make some changes that can lead to more positive customer service interactions and sales. I found a car I was interested in on their website and called to inquire. Ended up speaking with Angel who informed me the car was available so I told him I was interested and I was on my way. I live out of town and it's 2 hr drive so I had Angel confirm that they would not sell the car to someone else before I got there. Sure enough when I arrived he told me the car was already sold to someone else. The sales manager gave me 2 prepaid credit cards for compensation for my wasted time and gas. When I tried to use them they were declined. They are not only dishonest but they tried to pay me off with unusable cards. More
Went to look for a used vehicle, found a Golf at Guelph VW. Negotiated a price, agreed to it and signed an intent to purchase, only to be told by the assistant manager the vehicle had been sold by the mana VW. The assistant manager just handed back our credit card and the salesman never returned. We were just left there wondering what just happened. If indeed, it had been sold six hours earlier, why was nobody notified and why was it still on the lot? I’m doubtful of this story because a couple of hours later, we drove by and the vehicle was back on the lot in the front row. I would not recommend this dealership, I believe they negotiated in bad faith, realized they didn’t like the deal they were getting and decided to fabricate a story to get out of it. More
I am a multiple time service client.
