KICKED OUT OF SERVICE DEPARTMENT FOR EXPRESSING MY OPINION This morning at approximately 7:30 am, I was ejected/kicked-out of Gold Key Langley's service department by Lindsay. Gold Key Langley is the only Volk This morning at approximately 7:30 am, I was ejected/kicked-out of Gold Key Langley's service department by Lindsay. Gold Key Langley is the only Volkswagen dealership in town so at their mercy for warranty work. Lindsay asked me my name with a scowl on her face and in short tone and as soon as I said it, she yelled at me to “Get out!!” “How dare you show up here after that scathing review!!” I replied “What, I’m not allowed to voice my opinion after you called me yesterday with an attitude?”. She replied “Yeah, so!”. She then followed with “Take the review down and we’ll service your car”. Ummmm……isn’t blackmail, extortion or something? She continued to whip her finger up and demand I get my car and myself out of there over and over and stating that I’ve made her so mad that she was shaking uncontrollably. I stayed as calm as possible because I couldn’t believe this situation and called my husband. Lindsay was then insistent on finding out who I was calling. I informed my husband that I was being kicked-out of Gold Key because I posted a negative review the day before. He replied “Are you kidding me?! Well, just wait if they thought that one was scathing.” I asked him if he could hear Lindsay in the background demanding I leave and telling me to take the review down and he confirmed he could. I then asked Lindsay if there was an owner in and she yelled “No!” and then proceeded to state “And it doesn’t matter because we’ve all discussed you and decided this!” Ummmm…..isn’t that conspiracy? I took the general manager’s card that Lindsay gave me and left. The day before, I experienced car problems (I think a serious one as I had no acceleration and flashing coil and engine lights), tried to set-up an appointment asap and was told no appointments for a week. Received tentative and defensive replies and tones from the customer service rep so I sent an email to the heads above trying to explain my frustration of their apparent “no room” for kind of emergency situations…..I would have even taken a couple of days appointment but a week seemed ridiculous to me. I then received a phone call from one of the service managers, Lindsay. She called me with a tone and confirmed there was nothing they could do differently as they weren't going to change any scheduling around to suit my needs because everyone's busy, not just me, and I was welcome to take it somewhere else. She was completely tentative, defensive and offensive….and I'm thinking.....isn't your job centered around customer service? Mine is and I would NEVER come across like that OR say anything she had. Lindsay’s call the day before was the final straw and I wrote a negative review online reflecting the terrible customer service, in my opinion, that had taken place. Actually, I wrote my initial drawn-out review and then an hour later edited it for a short form so I’m not even sure which review Lindsay’s so enraged by. All-in-all the treatment I have received is completely horrendous and so the "wrong way". I will be forwarding as much communication as I can to Volkswagen Group Canada and all dealerships across Canada. When you're in customer service, you should NEVER resort to the tactics that Gold Key Langley has. More

Service dept Called to enquire on costs for diagnostics. Initially I was disconnected and then after recalling I was almost cut off mid sentence. Hen I was told I could tow my vehicle in, but they could only look at it "when they had time, but couldn't say when that might be". Okay then... I don't think anyone lives their lives on that kind of schedule. Flippant, rude service clerk. More
Horrible Customer Experience I've had various VW's over the last decade and have enjoyed all of the vehicles and most of my interactions with dealerships. Today I had a horrific experience at this dealership (Langley GoldKey VW). The service provider was rude, accused me of lying, and billed me for warranty repairs on my 2015 Touareg TDI. I only went to them because I was in the area and an hour away from my normal dealership. I might give them 2 stars instead of 1 because the two other people I interacted with there seemed reasonable. If you go there beware Christopher Bortolin. I've never had a worse customer service experience. More
Excellent sales experience Our 20 year old daughter recently purchased a brand new car from Langley Gold Key. The experience from start to finish was top notch. Not once did they try to up-sell or take advantage of her youth, they were professional and courteous as well as accommodating when we showed up almost 2 hours earlier than scheduled.We would definitely deal with Langley Gold Key again. Worst service department in the industry If you buy your care there don't bother to go for service. It's without question the worst in the industry. Non existent part for my car I went in for a 30 pt inspection plus asked for a diagnosis for a loss of power up a hill. Like Royal Oak or Nelson a steep hill. Noted that there are no steep hills in Langley. ... After two hours of diagnosis, which they said they have to let me authorize that up front they ended up finding nothing wrong. They said they drove up the hills in Langley...(sorry not the right hills) plus they said they can simulate the hills in their own garage. I drove the car that EXACT SAME NIGHT and took a video of it and the situation was the exact same. When I picked up my car I was told they may need a car for a cold start... well they also then mentioned in my paperwork that there is a part for my car that may need to be replaced. I found out after I left from three other shops that part DOES NOT EXIST!!!!. A part that the service advisor explained to me for 15 minutes on how it works in my car. Plus telling me I may need a timing belt replacing if not yet done, even though I got one done from them only 13670 kms ago. They say they write that down as always. (odd if it's been already done. ) They said a senior tech checked my car . quite scary when they don't know a VW car model parts, and how to diagnose their own brand name. So yes, that is why I can't go to a place that: 1. charges for 2 hours of diagnosis (who knows if they really checked esp since I have a video) 2. Tell me about a non existent part that may need replacing and that I should bring my car back 3. tell me my timing belt MAY need replacing if not done when it was done 13670 kms ago. Not sure if they did quality work the first time in this case on my timing belt. I just remember it took two days for them to install when they did it. 4. No one calls back after I left 3 messages, 2 for the GM and 1 for the Serv. Mgr. Never called for a week or more now. Now I am going to the Better Business Bureau and any other avenues to let everyone know what happened to me. . Be careful everyone. Consumers have a right to know what is going on. This is my experience and what has happened I hope it doesn't happen to anyone else I ended up having to pay for 2 other dealers to test out the car for loss of power and also the timing on my timing on the timing belt to make sure it was safe. Just when I thought I found a shop I could go to for years on end and it sure ended fast..... no more and never again. More
