Thanks for taking the time to provide a review although it is a little puzzling. It has been a long standing policy of our Used Car Department to disclose everything about the vehicles we sell. We have provided free CarProof reports on our web site for years. I would definitely like to look into this for you. I would appreciate some additional information so I can find out what happened with your purchase. Your name or the truck's VIN would be helpful plus when you purchased your truck. Hello Marc, I have researched this situation and here are the facts I have collected: You purchased the F-250 from us on May 12, 2009. We originally purchased a CarProof report for this truck on Feb 10, 2009. This report would've been given to you with the other paperwork. We still have a copy of it in your file. This CarProof report shows that this truck had no damage history. (If you have misplaced your copy I will gladly email you a scan of this report if you provide your email address.) Based on this CarProof report, we sold you the truck as accident-free in good faith. After you wrote your review, we purchased another CarProof from your VIN, This report does indeed show a $13,000 repair occurring in Nov 2007. I have contacted CarProof and the only explanation they can provide is that there may have been a data input error somewhere along the line. As I mentioned before, we take full disclosure of our vehicles very seriously. Unfortunately, when it comes to accident history, the only sources of information we have are from the previous owner or from a purchased CarProof report. In this case, we had no information from the previous owner and the data from CarProof was faulty. Although the system failed both of us in this case, we feel badly that as a customer, you had to deal with the consequences. As a goodwill gesture, we would like to offer you a $1000 credit to put toward any future used vehicle purchase at Freedom Ford. Please let me know your thoughts. Im pretty sure that truck was bought from an auction, when I purchased it they gave a pretty detailed list of repairs that were done,I don't buy the fact that someone messed up the paperwork.$13000 damage is quite extensive so someone should have know about it. as for the gift of $1000 I don't nees a vehicle, and I could simply use my Costco card to get that. Not really a good gesture is it?

Freedom Ford responded

Sorry you feel that way Marc. Yes, the truck was purchased at auction. The auction would not have known about any previous damage either. Any list of repairs you shown would have been for the normal reconditioning we do to any vehicle to bring it up to standards for resale. The people from CarProof came to my office to discuss this issue yesterday. After further investigation on their part they indicated that prior to 2010 they did not have access to SGI insurance data. So there was no way for them to tell us know that damage had occurred in Saskatchewan in 2007. The only ones that knew about the damage when you purchased in 2009 were SGI and the person that owned it in 2007. The CarProof people offered to discuss this with you directly, You can let me know if you are interested. At this point we will withdraw the $1000 offer we made and wish you the best in the future. At Freedom Ford we take full disclosure of vehicle condition very seriously. We have provided free CarProof history reports for all our used vehicles for years. It is company policy that customers must sign off on any damage history on a CarProof report. After discussions with CarProof about this case, they indicated that back in 2009 when this vehicle was purchased from us, CarProof did not have access to data from Saskatchewan Government Insurance. SGI paid a damage claim on this truck in late 2007. So we were unable to pass along any indication of damage history to our customer. Such an unfortunate occurrence could not happen today as CarProof has had access to Canada-wide data since 2010. Only a CarProof report pulled since then would indicate the damage history on this particular vehicle. As a goodwill gesture, we offered this customer a $1000 credit toward a future purchase.

Thanks so much for the kind words and great review of your purchase experience with Don Beckett. Unfortunately, it doesn't sound like your experience with the Service Department was as positive.
