FAA has smashed our dream & given us a month long nightmare I'd give this dealer a negative rating if I could. Nothing on earth could compel me to ever return to this place. But you tell me if you’re any differ I'd give this dealer a negative rating if I could. Nothing on earth could compel me to ever return to this place. But you tell me if you’re any different when you read the details of sad experience I’ve had with Fifth Avenue Autohaus. On November 10, 2015 I brought my VW motorhome into this dealers’ service department to repair the vehicles cruise control. Unknown to me the vehicle was immediately damaged through the negligence of one of this dealers employees as it was being driven out of the service bay. It was driven into a steel post damaging almost the entire right hand side of the vehicle from just behind the passenger door all the way to the back. It took the Service Manager 2 days to contact me and inform me of the damage done. Current estimates for repair of this damage range from $13,000 to $18,000. Although the company's Service Manager has admitted they are at fault, and has promised to have the vehicle repaired to "original or better condition" as of this writing ( December 3, 2015 ) it has been almost one month since the incident and absolutely nothing has been done, and no money has been released, to repair this vehicle. It has been sitting in a repair shop waiting for their insurance to authorize the ordering of parts and the associated repairs. At one point the service manager wrote to me saying it was my fault for the long delay because the VW I “chose to buy” was an “older, not very common model”. Really? That’s truly confidence shattering to have come from a VW dealer service manager! The Service Manager has stopped responding to phone calls or emails. By any reasonable standard of customer care this delay of repairs, ducking of responsibilities and level of communication is scandalous and just plain shabby. Furthermore the damage done on November 10, 2015 has completely scuttled our plans to drive to Arizona for three months this winter. The vehicle was completely drivable without the cruise control; in fact I prefer it this way. But my wife wanted the cruise installed before we left on our trip on November 11, 2015 which is why we brought it into this company’s shop in the first place. Normally you’d expect to get a replacement vehicle for the duration yours is not available, but Fifth Avenue Autohaus won’t do even that for us. And so, as of now, with the damage and no replacement motorhome, and the total lack of this company’s effort to repair it our lives and travel plans are being held hostage for who knows how long? Update: As I finished writing this I received a notice from Fifth Avenue Autohaus’ insurer saying they won’t pay to repair the damage and will instead offer me less than half the actual market value of the vehicle in cash. Talk about heaping on “insult to injury!” We’re both recent retiree’s, on fixed incomes, who had dreamed for years about buying a small motorhome and going on road trips during our “golden years”. Fifth Avenue Autohaus has smashed that dream, given us a month long nightmare in return, and now offers us less than half the value of what’s left! P.S. They never did fix the cruise control! More

He told us that we will get the date of production for our vehicle early in September and probably get the vehicle by December -January. That day we were required to put a down payment of CAD 1000.00 with condition that after production date is available, we will be informed by a phone call, and the down payment will no longer be refundable.- to which we agreed. We were promised by Yuda Zhu to get a call to get the official receipt for the down payment the following week - never happened. My husband was calling Yuda Zhu two weeks later, leaving him messages over two days, but Yuda Zhu never called back. Eventually, he drove to the dealership to get the receipt- and he got it with lots of apologies of course. Came September 28, not even beginning as was promised earlier (not even a courtesy call), I called asking for the production date-Yuda Zhu had no information for me, in addition he said, "but you know, your production date would probably be available in Feb.,2017 and you would get your car probably in May..." I was stunned and called my husband right away. Once again, he drove to the dealership. There he was once again convinced by Yuda Zhu that this was a mistake (never bothering to call back and inform of the mistake), and that the vehicle production date will be available sometime in October with vehicle arriving in January- February (so, no longer December- January). At this point we started to looking for other options, and when we found something else on Friday of Oct.02 my husband went to the dealership to get the deposit back - unsuccessful battle, no manager on site could do the refund. He was greeted by Alicia Wickham , the used cars sales manager, who was unable to do anything. Although the contract is quite clear, it even sais on the receipt that the refund is pending production date, which was never delivered to us in any way. I had to call and visit the dealership myself that day. The conversation with the receptionist, Ellie Barron over the phone was mostly unpleasant, she started telling me that they did not have to inform us of the date of production (as if the date of production was already available- but no one ever bothered to inform us), and that all of that was already discussed with my husband, so there is nothing they can do. I asked the Ellie Barron to transfer the call to the manager in charge, to which she responded that the manager is unavailable at the moment and that she cannot do anything either. I asked to take my phone number for the manager to call me back, once again Ellie Barron started telling me that she cannot do anything. I started raising my voice as I wanted to talk to the person in charge today at the dealership and call the person who can do something - the receptionist in a very down speaking and confronting manner said to me " This is not respectful to call a person of their day off and that they won't do that", I explained that it is unfair to me to be stressing over my weekend when all I want is my refund to which I am eligible as per their contract." The receptionist answered," I will not let you talk to me this way..." I said to her, " If you will not take my phone number, for the manager in charge to call me today, than I will drive there right now myself"-she took my number. I decided to go there any way after work. When I came I saw Yuda Zhu, who greeted me from far and barely speaking pointed to Alicia's office. Alicia Wickham once again explained that she cannot do anything but she did email Craig Warnick, the new cars sales manager, and if he would reply, she would promptly contact me even over the weekend (so, it is possible to contact the person who can solve this issue-not what the receptionist, Ellie Barron said to me). Next day, Saturday Oct. 3rd Alicia called, said that Craig Warnick replied, approved the refund, and Callan Lawrence will be calling me with in an hour for my card number to credit the refund. So it was, a Callan Lawrence called and asked for my card number, saying that the refund will show with in 5 days. One can understand the relief we felt at this point. But, this was not it. Came Oct.07 and I checked my credit card- what a surprise! Instead of a credit there was another debit from VW dealership for another CAD 1000.00.... Today I am calling Craig Warnick from 4pm and leaving messages. Although receptionist, Maeggi Marra, is saying he is there, he is not returning my calls.... At 19:17pm Craig Warnick picked up my call and as nothing has ever happened, " It was probably just a mistake, so I'll follow up tomorrow morning with Callan Warnick and will call you back". Not even an apology for the experience.... That is VW dealership for you on Fifth Avenue, 1120 Meridian Rd. These guys asked for money up front to make me some keys ($258). Then the verdict was that they don't know how to do the keys, but instead of giving my money back, they kept my money and threw a lot of abus ($258). Then the verdict was that they don't know how to do the keys, but instead of giving my money back, they kept my money and threw a lot of abuse at me about how it's my fault they can't make the keys because there's something mysterious wrong with my car. Really? If you can't deliver the service, give the money back. More
