Had a 2009 Dodge Grand Caravan I bought at another dealership. Brakes wore out prematurely. Went to this dealership and they told me it wasn't under warranty... Hum... OK, so I fix them myself. So dealership. Brakes wore out prematurely. Went to this dealership and they told me it wasn't under warranty... Hum... OK, so I fix them myself. So later I trade in the 2009 and bought a 2012 Dodge Grand Caravan. Problems started right at the beginning. Vehicle was supposed to be new. Contract stated it had 100kms on it. Picked it up and it had 400 kms. 2 weeks later, I get a letter from Dodge extending my warranty on my brakes due to problems... great. And then the mechanical problems started on the 2012: - transmission knocking between 1st and 2nd in Economy mode - radio deprogrammed itself constantly - rattle under front passenger seat - rattle in rear suspension in cold weather - car broke down on highway (sensor connector came loose) - ABS warning light comes on intermittently - heater vent system jams intermittently and blows unheated air inside (a pain in cold weather) I brought the van in and they fixed some of the problems... somewhat. Now the transmission delays between 1st and 2nd, so I just leave it out of economy mode. They had to reprogram the radio. But the rest was never really fixed. The rattle under the van was the funny one. 1st visit: the said they fixed it... readjusted the parking brake cable. I drive 30 feet and hear it again. They don't believe me... say tech did road tests. I take the tech with me and he hears it loud and clear. I leave the van again. Next day: they again claim that they fixed it... tightened all the rear suspension bolts. Again I drive 30 feet and hear it... they don't believe me. I take another tech with me and he hears it too... I leave it again. Next day: They AGAIN claim that they fixed it. Changed the rear left shock. Same result. Manager comes with me and hears it. I leave it yet again. Rattle on passenger seat not fixed either... Next day: now they changed the right shock. Same result. Manager gets testy with me. I tell them to take as long as they need to fix it once and for all. 1 week later: they said that it was the baby seats causing the problem... even though I didn't have the baby seats in the van for the 3 previous occasions. Rattle still present... And the kicker... I asked them to do an oil change. The idiot service tech dropped so much oil around the filler tube on top of the engine that once the weather started getting warmer, the oil almost caught fire. So, my opinion is STAY AWAY. Any worse, they would be criminals. More
