Service desk was awesome . Mechanic was poor. Without going into too muc **UPDATE** Within 15mins of posting this review, the service manager contacted me in an attempt to rectify the situation. Without going into too much detail, he succeeded. Although my experience during my visit wasn't satisfying, the service and understanding that I received from Scott can only be described as "above and beyond". Up until he contacted me, I would've likely not taken my business back to Elgin Chrysler, but he turned it around and I will no longer be hesitant to take my vehicle back there again. P.S. He took the time to deal with this at 10pm on a Saturday. -----‐-------------------------------------------------------------- **ORIGINAL POST** The last time I had a weird issue with my van, I took it here and they were able to fix it easily and economically. Since then, that van was written off and we purchased another Grand Caravan. We started having an odd issue with it, so decided to take it there straight away since they did a good job last time. Apparently this was not the thing to do. They were unable to recreate the problem (which happened later that day I may add), and instead recommended about $2000 worth of maintenance. Since the mechanic was unable to find the issue, I went to my backup, Google. Upon Googling the issue, I not only found that this was a common issue with this year of vehicle, but I also found a solution that would only cost $120 and about 5 mins to install. To add to the frustration, this issue lead to a recall on other models of the same year, so you would think they would've been familiar with the issue. My point is that you pay high shop rates for the knowledge of the mechanics, and in this instance I feel ripped off. More

Horrible experience. Spent two full days negotiating a used vehicle purchase. We finally came to an agreement on price and out of nowhere an “admin fee” was thrown into the conversation (almost $600 worth used vehicle purchase. We finally came to an agreement on price and out of nowhere an “admin fee” was thrown into the conversation (almost $600 worth). Admin fees are completely discretionary, and can only be charged if making a deal below list price. Do not appreciate being told out of nowhere there’s now an admin fee being slapped onto the deal. Negotiations with the admin fee then came into play, and I was told we were just waiting upon the GM to yah or nay the deal. I waited all day, and followed up at the end of the day after hearing nothing. Finally received notice that, “oops the car sold while I was talking to my GM for an hour about it”. Where is your process in play for protecting consumers and employees while an active negotiation is in play?? Thank you for wasting my time. My husband has worked at a dealership for 16+ years and I can tell you that they would provide common courtesy to their customers and not try to undercut eachother just to make a dollar. Shady practices at this dealership. I would never recommend to anyone - from someone whose livelihood comes from a dealership, you will 100% be treated better at another dealership. More

Down to earth easy to work with salesman I came in two weeks ago looking to buy my first ever truck and so I was quite new to all that trucks had to offer. We met with Aaron and he was amazing to work with, he lined up multiple trucks for us to take out for test drives and let me take home for the night the one I was considering. He was not pushy at all and was very helpful. He even came in after his set hours so that my fiance could see the truck and ask any questions as well.
