No longer a Cochrane Toyota fan I have owned three Toyota’s. I used to like Toyota. I have faithfully maintained all 3 vehicles ,with some rather large service bills over the years I have owned three Toyota’s. I used to like Toyota. I have faithfully maintained all 3 vehicles ,with some rather large service bills over the years but hey it’s what you do. Last nov my sunroof in my Rav 4 basically exploded - no rock ,no explanation & that is when the difficulties started. Sunroof glass is not covered by insurance nor are they under warranty once repaired I have since found out. Toyota denied this is a regular occurrence - which it is across many vehicle brands not just Toyota.(according to transport Canada and the evening news) I was told a rock hit it, it did not. I was in the vehicle they were not. After paying my 1200 dollar bill to “fix” my sunroof it has opened exactly 1 time and has never opened again. I took the car in and surprise the track is full of glass shards which has somehow injured a mechanism in the roof. They will fix it properly now for another 1700 dollars. How can a dealership with any integrity call a sunroof fixed that does not open? This remains a mystery to me. So yesterday I left with a bill for 1031 dollars and a sun roof that does not open. The bill was labor for looking at the roof plus service. So glad I went for the pricier Rav model with the sunroof. Not one “this must be frustrating, sorry this happened, sorry we can’t do anything to help you out here” Just defensive argumentative behavior from service. I will pay to have my sunroof fixed but it won’t be done at Cochrane Toyota. p.s A response to this review from anyone at Cochrane Toyota would NOT be appreciated as I received no appropriate response when I stood in front of you asking for help. I will never take my vehicle back to Cochrane Toyota. More
