They service my 85-year-old mother's late model Mazda. The car is 4 years old and has less than 40,000KM. 1) When it goes in for oil changes, they want to do the recommended service. last year at 36 most, they called me for approval to do the 36mo service. I looked at the manual and said sure. When we picked up the car they had done $700 worth of work over and above. This included changing an air and cabin filter they changes 6 mos/5,000km prior for $150, a brake fluid flush, coolant flush and brake cleaning. I called back asking why - they said it was approved, that was their service department's recommended 36K service, not Mazdas. 3 mos later we went to buy out the lease. A sales rep kept harassing my octaganarian mother into a new lease. She was trying to sell her the ultimate peace of mind comes from having a new car with fewer dependability risks. They wanted her pristine leased car because it had 30,000km and they thought she'd walk from the $19K buyback on a car with a tradein value of $35K. Then last month (Jan 2025) , another oil change - rather odd as services had been 12,000KM, this last one was 5,000km. It appears they reprogrammed the her oil service interval to 5,000km, not an uncommon trick done on unsuspecting customers. Again there was a recommendation for extra work. They told her at 40,000KM the recommended maintenance included a wheel alignment, brake cleaning, mechanical inspection, and a full electrical inspection and service. another $700 of extra work. More
While the purchase of the vehicle had no issues and the sales person was very good, the service department is a joke. When you call to make an appointment, they won't book you in for 3 weeks. Took it if sales person was very good, the service department is a joke. When you call to make an appointment, they won't book you in for 3 weeks. Took it if for an oil change and they kept my car all day, after multiple calls on when I could pick up the car and when I finally got it back after it being there from 8am until 5pm, they still hadn't even topped up the windshield washer fluid. Now I am fighting to get the repair done on it for the app and being able to use the remote start. I have spent over a month going between the service department and the app help line and keep getting jerked around with no answers. I would never recommend buying a car from Mazda Burlington on the service department alone!! More

Tried calling Ashley who had checked me in but she was gone for the day. Then a day later she sent an email about low test of battery etc.! I could not believe it. Tried several days to connect with Service Manager. Never reached him but 14 days later was told I would be transferred to Bryce, another Service Rep. Bryce quickly checked out my concerns and stated the video and battery message were sent to me in error. Sent in error by Ashley! Bryce was polite and efficient and very helpful but Ashley is to be avoided. More
If I could give it a zero I would, the most incompetent, un knowledgeable , business I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. From the general manager Ryan, to the owner Scott Leggat, none of them kn un knowledgeable , business I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. From the general manager Ryan, to the owner Scott Leggat, none of them know anything about native status, or the way a native status works, they even brought down their accountant Kelli who informed them how status works, but that was not even good enough. If you are planning on buying a car, and have NATIVE STATUS, stay away from LEGGATT MAZDA! More
I dealt with Ashley and Daniel at Burlington Mazda for my service again on Saturday May 4th 2024, and they were both excellent as always. I really appreciate their professional and quality services. As a follow-up to my review below regarding my son's car. I did some research on the issue and it's common for heat shields to rust around the bolt heads, which is what happened on one of them. It's a simple I did some research on the issue and it's common for heat shields to rust around the bolt heads, which is what happened on one of them. It's a simple fix, with a larger washer. We could have done it ourselves but took it to Speedy Auto on Guelph and they fixed in less than 30 minutes, with an honest assessment. They couldn't get the duct tape off so the fix was done a long time ago and was sold in that condition. Great team at Speedy and extremely helpful. Leggat could have done the same but chose to alienate a new customer and try and rip us off. More
My son bought a 2012 Toyota Corolla @ Leggett Burlington and called me to ask if I could look at the rattling underneath. No service had been done, no oil change, etc since the car was a couple of months ol and called me to ask if I could look at the rattling underneath. No service had been done, no oil change, etc since the car was a couple of months old (for him). Well, the heat shield was being held on with cardboard and duct tape. It started rattling because the duct tape degraded. We took it in and they wouldn't make good on a repair ("No way that would go out like that!" Scott Leggat). Well, it did. We wouldn't waste our time by going in to try to scam a repair, which is basically what he was saying. My son paid a lot of money for a used car from Leggat. I went to the Toyota dealership to price the part and discuss it with them before we went back. $190 for the part (new) plus 30 minutes of labour. Leggat price $740 for the part and labour. over 3x as much. Really bad dealership. Here's the thing, if they had fixed it, it wouldn't have been much to fix the original, I would consider buying a NEW from them because of the service and taking care of my son. You know, doing the honourable thing. Now I'm writing a warning review not to go there. My son is so PO'd that he'll blast it off to all his social media friends, 500+, with a picture we took of the cardboard and duct tape. Leggat spends thousands in advertising yet doesn't consider standing by their product worth much. My son could have been writing a positive review but instead will write a negative review that will likely reach over 2000 locals. I can see why there are so many 1 star ratings because I spoke to Scott Leggat myself. Buyer beware! More
Never ever been so disappointed in a dealership, as my husband & I with Leggat Burlington Mazda. When it came to us trying to have our friend p/u our winter tires from storage (only because we have move husband & I with Leggat Burlington Mazda. When it came to us trying to have our friend p/u our winter tires from storage (only because we have moved to Nova Scotia and it would have cost us time & money to get them ourselves, anyway) my husband spoke with 3 different service people (Ashely [never ret'd our call ,definitely NOT a service person], Justin and Max[most helpful of the 3], all different stories. After a week of wondering what was going on, after speaking with our friend, who told us, send an email, will make it easier, quicker to retrieve the items. Well, NOT AT ALL...so then after our friend going, leaving empty handed we decided to call the owner, Scott (not a charmer at all and never did return our call). My husband explained everything out to Scott (never deal with him or his legacy, Burlington Mazda). When after finally getting an email from our friend, guess what, tires are sitting in the bay (which back a week before, apparently they were there, yet service people (except Max) told us, no sorry, can't locate any tires??? Scott Leggat never thought to call, explain or help us out???? The one reason, one reason only we went back to purchase a new CX-50, was because of our OUTSTANDING service from Kelly MacIntyre, Sales & Leasing Representative (he unfortunately is no longer there, not sure why but after all this BS, can understand). The lies, deceit and unbelievable poor service, I would NEVER, EVER, EVER purchase from this place again. Kelly is a wonderful, kind, caring, goes above & beyond, Leggat Mazda Burlington, does not. You guys lost out. You tried to claim the tires were lost, couldn't find them. Really!!!!!!!!! More
Regarding recalls - the service department at Burlington Mazda does not consult with the customer about recalls - they just do them and you find out on your invoice that they have been done - free, but that Mazda does not consult with the customer about recalls - they just do them and you find out on your invoice that they have been done - free, but that's not the issue. They checked for a power steering sensor failure [ my steering was fine at the time] but my warranty was up and my power steering failed a couple years later - there is no time limit on recalls - and I was told that they already checked my power steering sensor and have done their job regarding the recall. The problem was that because they didn't consult with me, I was on the hook for a $700.00 bill to replace the sensor. They are simply concerned with clearing the recalls regardless of the impact on customers. More
