3 strikes your out We were part of the whole diesel scandal and made a choice to trade in our TDI but finding a decent used VW Golf was a difficult chore with the huge d We were part of the whole diesel scandal and made a choice to trade in our TDI but finding a decent used VW Golf was a difficult chore with the huge demand. We found Brantford VW had a GTI 2015 low kilometers. So we contacted them and everything seemed to move along smoothly. We got the car and upon getting it home found one of the FOBs had a dead battery, we were out with the car and didn't have the spare with us. So we had to remove the keyhole cover on the door handle and open the door this way. Unfortunately the little tabs broke off. We contacted the dealership thinking they would give us a battery and new cover. But no, we had to pay for the cover and go and buy a battery. Strike one day one. The next incident was when we went to have the first oil change done, I contacted them prior to going because one of the struts on the rear hatchback was faulty and the door was falling down. I asked them to have a strut there so we could get it changed at the same time. We are coming from Mississauga for this service so there is a lot of travel involved and we both work. Again no we can't do that was there reply, we have to look at it to see the problem and determine if it's warranty and then order the part. So yes the strut was bad and yes it was warranty and yes they had to order the part and yes another trip was made by us from Mississauga to Brantford with about 4-5 hours lost. Strike 2. On April 27 2018 we took our car to our local mechanic to have the snow tires removed and summer tires put on. The mechanic showed me 2 of the tires had worn treads and some cracking and then proceeded to point out the date the tires were made 0411, so that means the tires were 6 years old before we took possession of the car 2015 GTI. The other 2 tires were 2016 and in great shape. So we called the dealership and they basically said when we got the car from them the 0411 tires passed all safety requirements. Note we only put on about 2000 Kilometers before putting winter tires on and the car had less than 15000 kms when we bought it so how did we wear the treads down so quickly? My other question was how did 0411 tires get on the car? So bottom line they did nothing wrong, and they said we could again drive to Brantford and they would look at the tires but not guarantee anything would be done. Strike 3 your out! I must add that the sales representative we worked with was great,unfortunately her support group was not. I'm done with these guys and will fix the problem myself! More
