I have bought 10 VWS over many years and have always felt they were done professionally and have mentioned that to all of my friends when I hear their horror stories. This one was very different for me and has tarnished a lifetime of respecting the brand. I remind myself that the product is still very good but dealerships are the face to face representatives of the VW company and as such affect our perceptions greatly. The two major issues revolved around a promise that was not fulfilled about a rebate for a service. That was explained after the purchase as having a much different time limit than most people would expect under the circumstances. A time-frame of convenience? The second was the worst issue since it seemed to be very close to "tied selling" which is not sanctioned in my Province, where two items (one hidden by a "green appearance") were added to the cost. I did not request either of them and they were never even explained till after the purchase. I would have declined them both - as I did for other added options. This was not the VW Experience I thought I knew. More
