I must say I noticed a difference right away, it was busy in the check in area but all of the kiosks for the service advisers were full. It took a 10 minutes to get checked in. I came in for a tire install and alignment, before hand I called and got a price and since all the other places I called were more money and a week longer wait I decided to give them another chance. I noticed right away that the price quote I was given differed from the price on the work order. I had requested an email with the price so I showed them and they gladly matched the price. Several hours past and I called because I needed to know when the shuttle would pick me up and if my truck was ready. The truck was not ready and they called me later in the day to arrange pick up. When I arrived it was still not ready. 1.5 hours later they showed up with my keys and were very apologetic, and told me they had a problem with another vehicle and it had been on the alignment machine all day, and could not get to mine. They comped some of the work and told me to call next week to reschedule the work and they would pick up and deliver it anywhere in the city. So I did that and they truck was returned to me within a few hours. While I did not like waiting and having to reschedule, I greatly appreciated how Birchwood went out of there way to make the situation right. Keep up the good work, you may have just earned a customer. More
We had been doing a lot of research into the vehicle We had been doing a lot of research into the vehicle (Ford Escape) and we knew basically what we wanted and didn't want. We saw in the newspaper that We had been doing a lot of research into the vehicle (Ford Escape) and we knew basically what we wanted and didn't want. We saw in the newspaper that they were having some sort of promotions and thought what the heck lets go. When we got there we were greeted right away and things started off okay. They were really pushy about minor things such as paint colors and having to choose then and there. Did the test drive and went on to have a conversation about financing with the sales person and this where things went wrong. I feel like because we are young we might have not been taken seriously. First off the model that we "choose", the sales person didn't even bother to show us on the computer, nor give us comparable models per-say (Not a big deal but I would like to see a photo or something of what I'm buying). What bugged me before was the sales guy kept running back and forth to his manager's office. The manager didn't even come out and say hello, or come talk to us about the options. I felt distanced and not worth the effort by management. We had to sign a form saying that we would give $3000 to hold the car if we agreed on financing, on top of anything we put down, and the $3000 would be refunded upon pick up of our purchased car. I've heard of dealerships doing this but in my experience it's always been no more then $300-$900 and applied to your deposit when you come get your car. We didn't exactly have $6000 to do both at the same time. That made it impossible for us to buy. I feel like they picked that amount because we looked too young to buy what we wanted to. Next they wanted $799 for the "Birchwood Advantage", apparently it includes things like gas delivery and wheel alignments (I have CAA for and my own mechanic I didn't need this). My husband has an employee discount at Ford through his work. Even though we showed them paperwork from his work, they did not once explain how the employee discount was applied or even if it was. There was a lack of communication. I feel communication makes customer service. I felt uneasy, so we said we needed to think about and left. We ended up buying our Escape without hassles at another dealership and we only had to give $300 to keep the car, not $3000 and didn't pay for any dealer advantage. They want to drain you of money left right and centre here. More
The experience started off by getting there 1 minute after opening (7:31) and there are several people waiting and one service adviser to serve them all. Ended up being late for work, not the end of th after opening (7:31) and there are several people waiting and one service adviser to serve them all. Ended up being late for work, not the end of the world but annoyed. They called saying it needed an air filter it was $25, free labor. Called parts store they are $12 for Wix which is a quality air filter, takes 1 min to change. Then I called a few times to see what is happening with front end inspection and was never called back. Showed up at 4:10 to pickup and they have just put it on the hoist to check front end, advised it might be radial pull and they want to chage $20 to swap front tires and $100 for alignment and this might fix it. It also means 45 min wait, so I tell them I need to leave and now they can do it in 20 min. Still have to leave so say no, it takes 20 more min just to get the paper work then I have to stand in another line to pay, takes 10 min. So they had the truck all day to do 30 min of work, then I find out on top of the expensive $50 oil change they charged $30 to look at the front end. I get home to check the air filter which is dirty and does require replacement, and notice they did not clean the spilled oil very well near the drain points and also notice both rear shocks are gushing oil and they did not flag it. Had I not noticed it the warranty would have been up by next service. YOU WILL NOT BE SERVICING MY VEHICLE AGAIN! More
