Terrible Sales Team - I went in to pre-order a 2023 Sportage hybrid. I was a guarantee sale! I knew everything about the vehicle that I wanted and just had questions about pricing and hev vs phev. The girl I spoke with had no idea about the vehicle, not even the different trim lines that it came in. I asked if they sold the vehicle for the MSRP and she had to talk with her boss. My son had his vehicle break down and took it to the dealer he bought it fron (Barrie Kia). They advised that they were very busy and "might" be able to look at it in a week. OK, they're busy and have dealer he bought it fron (Barrie Kia). They advised that they were very busy and "might" be able to look at it in a week. OK, they're busy and have the same challenges that everyone does right now, I understand that. But stranding your customers and rendering them unable to get to work indefinitely by not offering a vehicle when the delay is wholly caused by you is unacceptable. After it sat in their lot for a week, we had it towed to another dealership. They were also busy, but managed to have a look at it. It was a very minor repair, and was looked at, repaired, and back on the road in less than 2 hours. I am sure that if we had left it at Barrie Kia it would still be sitting on their lot. We will never bring this vehicle to Barrie Kia for any type of maintenance or for anything else ever again. We will also never buy a vehicle from them, or from any of their affiliated companies (look into it, the ownership owns multiple dealerships in the region and clearly doesn't care). More
I have no idea how this dealership is still around, and how they get away with treating customers the way they do. I have been a Kia owner for 5 years now. I have had multiple interactions with this dealership and every single one of them I leave there completely disgruntled and promising myself I will never return. Aside from the sales manager basically raising his voice at me for rightfully asking questions before considering my options to trade in for a newer model all while pressuring me to sign papers and hand over $1000 to complete the trade in for a vehicle they did jot even have on site- I was simply looking at options for myself; I have also been left OUTSIDE in the rain and cold, not able to wait in the wait area while my vehicles RECALL was being looked at-- told the waiting area was for Customers BUYING ONLY. They treat potentials as if they care and leave their current customers outside in the rain for hours, or on their own to pay an Uber to get home and back-Could of been told over the phone. I refuse to go here anymore, i am very upset that no one has rectified all the unhappy PAYING customers, I have even spoke to head office- they don't care- they `say it is the locations issue and when complaining at the location they basically laugh at you. Took my leased KIA for engine repairs covered by warrantee, took two weeks for repair to be completed, no offer of complimentary vehicle rental or even assistance getting one, no discount or apology warrantee, took two weeks for repair to be completed, no offer of complimentary vehicle rental or even assistance getting one, no discount or apology for the time needed. Was assured vehicle was safe and road ready. I drove it Southbound down the 400 for 15 minutes when the vehicle stalled and was showing same signs of an engine problem as before the repair. I called Barrie KIA and was placed on hold for 25 minutes and when someone did pick up the phone, customer service was absolutely terrible. I was stranded at the side of the highway, and had to call my own CAA to tow my vehicle. Again, no offer from Barrie KIA for complimentary rental until the vehicle was fixed...for the second time. Terrible experience. If you need a KIA dealership go to Newmarket. More
