It took a while, a few changes here and there to the design, however it was well worth the time it took! Drove away with a brand new 2025 430I Coupe from Tristan. I have recently had my 2015 BMW X4 serviced at the Grand River service center at Victoria street in Kitchener and I noted several concerns, most of which i feel resulted in an inflation of my bill for Grand River service center at Victoria street in Kitchener and I noted several concerns, most of which i feel resulted in an inflation of my bill for payment. I will itemise all of them in as much detail as possible below; I brought my car in for a safety certificate and for servicing. I was met with a gentleman named Imtiaz who attended to me. I left to work afterwards and was contacted by Imtiaz who told me point blank that my car would fail safety if we did not make any repairs and had gone ahead to advise that my bill was about 2900 average to get it through safety. I was shocked at this amount and told him to send me a detailed breakdown. When I had some free time I tried to contact him and wasn't able to get through, but then left a message for him to call me back to discuss the bill, but I never got a call back. Apparently he had gone ahead with the repair for the car and i got a call close to the end of business day that my car was almost ready and my bill would be for $2,892, with the labour being almost half of that! When I argued against this he challenged me as to why I did not look to see that the labour fee was 185/ hr on the wall upon entry into the facility. I looked at the detailed breakdown of the bill and I had further concerns; 1. safety inspection units for 1 hr 30 minutes. Imtiaz has charged me 90 minutes for a safety inspection. I note that this comes to about 277.50 and discounted to 235.87. Comparative prices for safety inspection would be a lot less than this, so I am not sure why he would charge me this extortionate rate for a safety inspection. For Eg, at Canadian tyre, a safety inspection for the same make of my car and similar mileage would cost according to Canadian tyre Weber street about 139 plus tax. 2.I was charged for top up of all under hood fluids as necessary for 9.50. This is very non-specific as I was double charged separately for each of the fluids that were changed and flushed. 3. A four wheel alignment was done on the vehicle. This was done without my consent or approval. I had no concerns about the alignment of the wheels, neither did the previous owner. All i came for was for servicing and a safety certificate and 1.8 hours was billed as labour for this piece of work i did not ask for. I asked for this charge to be removed but was ignored. 4. I was charged 90 minutes for a change in the brake pads for labour. This seems an excessive amount of time to have brake pads changed, as it tends to take 30 minutes or less at other garages. Why was I charged for such a long period of time? Is it that the mechanic was inexperienced? Or am I just being fleeced to the maximum amount from Imtiaz and GrandriverBMW? I also note on the brake pad parts invoice that every single part of the brakes have been charged separately. I am aware that when you purchase a brake pad it comes with the clips, and there are existing bolts on the current pads, so why am I being charged , down to the brake-paste used? and every single screw that was used? even if the old screws had no issues? 5 I was charged 1 hour for a coolant flush! A coolant flush should take far less than 1 hour. I have left out the rationale for doing a flush in the first place as i didn't ask for it and if I was consulted with that exorbitant hour long bill i would have respectfully declined. Imtiaz however made it seem like I pay the entire amount or I would not get the safety certificate. 6 Brake fluid flush. One hour has been billed for brake fluid flush. The service centre has a power bleeder present, so why would a brake fluid flush last an hour?? 95.99 for wiper blades! Mean price is about $25 30 minutes billed to replace the cabin air filter!!! This is a 5 minute chore at best. 30 minutes for changing the engine air filter. Again this should not take more than 10 minutes. I complained and basically was told to shut up and pay from the management! I feel robbed :( More
