Positive experience and happy outcome It was a pleasure working with Alice Nielsen, Product Specialist at Addison, for the purchase of my new to me (used) vehicle. I must note that it was It was a pleasure working with Alice Nielsen, Product Specialist at Addison, for the purchase of my new to me (used) vehicle. I must note that it was because of Alice that my search for a new vehicle ended at Addison and I did not leave to go look at the other vehicle I was interested in at another car lot. I found Alice to be a genuine down-to-earth person who was helpful and even after the papers were signed was always available to answer my questions when I had them (by email and via text messages). She delivered 100% of what she said she was going to have done to prepare my vehicle for pickup and I appreciate that very much. The vehicle was very well detailed and all repairs (as part of the sale) were completed as promised. Also, it was a nice surprise to see that Addison even did an oil change for me when it was not documented as part of the deal (thanks for going the extra mile). In terms of the dealership, I found the Addison dealership to be very inviting and the few people that I did meet there were very friendly and nice. I must note that this is the first time in my 40 years of buying used vehicles that I have actually bought from a dealership (instead of a private seller) and I have say that Addison was competitive with their price and even open to a bit of negotiation. It turned out that over my 2 week used vehicle search, I found that most of the “supposedly” other better looking deals (by private sellers) in Kijiji / Auto Trader around my area (i.e., Hamilton and surrounding Golden Horseshoe) were all scammers – I guess this is our new web reality. Anyway, dealing with Alice Nielsen and Addison turned out to be a positive experience for me and I am happy that I found them – thank you. In conclusion, would I recommend Addison as a dealership – yes … and would I recommend Alice Nielsen as a sales contact – most definitely yes. More
My experience with the Addison Service is dreadful. I have been going to Addison on Eglinton for many years, but since 2017, their service department quality of work has gone down tremendously. They have caused serious damage to my engine and transmission. I had to finally take my car to another GM service to fix it once in for all. Addison had charged me close to $8000.00 for repairs that they had caused, and at the end I had to again pay $3300.00 to the other GM shop to correct Addison's work. So if you are looking for a patch job that will get you back into Addison's service department, then continue going there. I am planning to launch an official complaint to GM. More

No post sales communication at any level I will start with the short version and if you I want details you can choose to continue reading. The sales process was excellent. If there were no post purchase issues, they would get a 5 star. The post purchase support is extremely poor. In fact, five people contacted for a serious issue, one reply back to let me know that my email was being forwarded. I patiently waited for a response and since my first communication four weeks ago to my last communication two weeks ago, not even an acknowledgement. At this point, if you have the perfect vehicle, 5 stars (as sales people go, they talk the proper game) but you take your chances should you need to post sales support. They communicate at their discretion (rust spots on the roof of the vehicle not disclosed). Now the long detailed version. I purchased the used vehicle on July 5th. The sales representative (one) was easy to deal with and I felt comfortable that I was dealing with a top rate dealership that cared about their customers. We picked up the vehicle on July 7th. As we drove at a certain time of the afternoon, we noticed a couple of stone ships had damaged the windshield. Although a safety issue, we fully expected not a perfect vehicle as it is used. We contacted sales representative n (two) and he agreed to have this fixed. On July 8th, I opened the hood and the cable attached to the handle popped off and I could no longer latch the hood. It took 2 hours but I finally was able to reattach the cable. In fairness they told me I could bring it in the following day. Never had this happen to a vehicle. Additionally, one of the power outlet covers is broken and this request was ignored. So these were minor annoyances and again I did not expect a perfect vehicle but a couple of potential safety issues and one cosmetic makes you wonder if their industry best safety certification is questionable. Now comes the crux of the review. I was assured that there were no mechanical, electrical or body issues with the vehicle. Sales representative one made me feel that he was a person of integrity and honesty. I purchased a roof rack for the vehicle. Because it is a SUV, it is not apparent until you look at the roof if there are any issues. To my amazement, at least 8 stone chips that are rusting. My immediate reaction was, how did Addison miss reporting these if they detailed the car? So I communicate with sales representative two. He said, go to the manufacture. I checked and nope, past the manufacturer point. That was July 11th. He never reached out again. So I figure, sales representative one may be able to help. On July 18th, I email sales representative one since he told me of the Addison integrity. On July 19th he emailed back say that he was forwarding the email to sales representative two and the used vehicle sales manager. No response from either. On July 23rd, I emailed the general manager of Addison. Surely, I thought, he will at least acknowledge my email. Nope, nothing to date. So, researching Addison, I found a Customer Relationship person. I emailed her on July 26th and the common theme of no response continues. Ultimately, what I learned is that this is the way the dealership works - and by ignoring me, I am left to believe that this is condoned behaviour at the highest levels and admission that they knew of the issue and hope I go away. I would expect this behaviour from a private sale or a second rate used car lot but not from a reputable dealership as Addison portrays themselves. The shear fact that the dealer does not want to acknowledge the customer is shameful and unprofessional. To have five members of the staff not return any of my messages should really have you wonder if this is the dealer for you - after all, they truly embody the old saying “buyer beware”. More
