My first service visit: terrible experience! I bought my new Sonata Hybrid Limited from your dealership a few months ago. The sales representative was Mr. Fernando Toro. At the time, he gave me h I bought my new Sonata Hybrid Limited from your dealership a few months ago. The sales representative was Mr. Fernando Toro. At the time, he gave me his cell number and told me I should be contacting him personally when I needed to bring the car in for service. I thought that was quite odd, so I contacted your main number instead. I have since found out that Mr. Toro may no longer be employed there. I brought the car in for its first service on October 29, 2014. I have listed below a number of items related to my experience for your review: 1. I contacted the dealership to make my first service appointment for my new car; was required to phone back 5 times before I was able to speak with someone in the service dept. 2. Requested shuttle service ahead of time 3. Dropped off the car at 7:55 am on Wednesday and did not receive a lift back to work until after 9 am (a more than 1 hr wait); no pick up requested, given the wait time 4. Asked for an explanation re. why the stereo was working so poorly and barely received a response; something was changed with the equalizer, but no one agreed to show me what the issue had been; when I asked whether I needed to research the problem myself, I was told I should read the manual 5. Reported a serious degradation in fuel efficiency over the first 6 months (900 km on 1 tank initially, down to less than 700 km on a tank of gasoline presently; I had better fuel efficiency on my old Chrysler!!); the service rep did not have an explanation for this and told me it’s normal!! 6. Asked for a quote to repair a scratch in the paint along the lower right-hand side bottom cladding; the quote came back at $850 plus HST; when I asked if you have your own paint-shop, at first I was told yes, and when I asked again if this was in fact true, I was told you use a subcontractor; I was handed a business card for a body shop close by; I then proceeded to have the small damage to the cladding evaluated by another local body shop and was provided a quote at less than one third the cost of yours; needless to say, I have arranged for the repair to be done there, rather than at your dealership 7. Also, the car was not washed externally or cleaned internally (a service other dealership provide routinely); no paper mats to protect the front and nothing to show that a full checkup was done (27-point checklist you advertise) 8. No information, contact or follow up regarding required service now or in the future. 9. No response or follow up to my complaint at all from anyone at Hyundai. Given this first experience with the quality of service I received at 401 Dixie Hyundai, I don’t believe I will be bringing my car back to you, unless I hear that some significant changes have taken place. I have owned many vehicles of different brands over the past 3 decades and have never received such poor service before. More

With Dave Martin and Dixie/401 Hyundai after the experience I could have come on my own. I even told Dave yesterday when picking up my new Veloster that this was the best experience I have had purchasing a new car (and I have bought or leased every five years). I was looking at test driving quite a few cars at other car dealerships that day we came in...but never had to. Dave has a non car salesman approach and look which both of us found refreshing. Not pushy, very informative, sincere and professional. They were willing to find a car in the province that was the colour I was looking for and Dave came in early on a Saturday to accommodate my schedule to pick up the new car. I will definitely recommend Dixie/401 Hyundai and Dave Martin. I have already had people asking me about the car. More

He did the best he could when I needed him to hit my price ceiling and also when the dealership let me down. When I paid for my car I assumed I would get the colour I requested. I found this to be a serious flaw in your system. Taylor located the car I required and got it to me with 450 kms on it, a number I agreed upon. I was offered nothing in return for this compromise on my part. I have also had to return the car to remove residue left on the passenger door, which Taylor addressed by having the car redetailed for me. I think Taylor did an outstanding job, keeping me happy through the stress of not receiving what I paid for, however I believe the dealership should have done something about this major oversight. More

We were looking at new cars and took up 4-5 hours of Taylor's day to find that the one that fit right was a 2014 model. We appreciated Taylor taking the time to go over many cars, features, and benefits of each car we looked at. It's clear that personal reputation means a great deal to him so when I received an email humbly asking for a quick review, I was happy to take the time. I've never met another salesperson that actually encouraged me to look elsewhere before I signed the paperwork. I took his advice but found myself back in the showroom later that very day buying the car. I guess when you actually take the time to fully understand the client's needs you can be confident they'll come back. I hope to do repeat business when I'm in the market again. Bravo! More
