Dealing with my service advisor was frustrating to say the least. I bought the car there in 2009 but clearly that does not matter. The car was dropped off early by my daughter to determine why it was r the least. I bought the car there in 2009 but clearly that does not matter. The car was dropped off early by my daughter to determine why it was running poorly. Despite calling twice to speak to the advisor I never once got a call back. Instead very late in the day I was told they were busy and I got a pathetic video showing obvious leaks from the Head gasket and transmission line and was advised to have a full service check. And then I got a work order for over $5000 of service with no explanation or contact or discussion, just here is the estimate and would you like to proceed. Oh and by the way the service does not include any parts or fluids necessary to complete the repair. I said NO thank you. For this Subaru wanted 400$ and still no one would talk to me. I called the service manage and her advice was that she would have the service advisor call me. That was a complete waste of time. Not only did the service advisor have attitude he indicated he had no concept of the repairs and the technician would have to explain it. My next step was to take the car to All Makes Auto just off of Edmonton trail. They looked at the vehicle in 20 minutes while I waited and provided an explanation of the service work required and in addition provided advice regarding the rough idle relating to a cracked and worn timing belt, leaking antifreeze out of the plugs and a coolant crossover line leak. Finally, they also let me know about a front end issue to help determine if the cost of the repair was prudent given the age and mileage on the vehicle. They charged me $73, yes, $73 for the inspection NOT $400. They also gave me a quote to repair everything that Subaru indicated needed immediate attention including changing out the timing belt and tensioners, replacing the spark plugs, oil change and coolant. All for 3000$. But thats not all as they deducted the inspection fee of $73 from the total repair bill. And they booked me for Wednesday and the job was completed today before noon. People they had to pull the engine for this repair - no small feat! Today I called the service manager at Subaru Calgary and asked for half my money back for the pathetic service they provided. I was advised that I got what I paid for and there would be no refund. My response was to ask to speak to the general manager. I was told that I could email that person. To which I said have them call me as they have my number and have had it since 2009 when I bought the car. No response as of yet. I will update this review if and when I receive that call. Regardless, I have been repairing my own vehicles for the last 45 years and I also help my friends and family with repairs to their vehicles including taking in for service on jobs I cannot do. My advice, and please pay heed to what I am saying when I say do NOT go to Subaru of Calgary. Instead go to https://allmakesautorepairs.com and get real service and value for your hard earned money. Parts guy Juan did me a solid today and righted a wrong done two years ago. I’ve had much better service at this dealer than at Centaur - would not return to Centaur for anything more complicated than an o done two years ago. This was not our first rodeo buying a new car. The experience my wife and I enjoyed with Ben and Nisar was the best we have ever experienced. Even though we had our own financing arranged they offered us a very fair price for our new Crosstrek. There was no games and no underhanded sales tactics at all. Ben was honest, knowledgeable, approachable, and worked really hard to make the process as painless as possible. We really appreciated how he made us feel during all phases of the transaction. Ben is a class act and we would recommend him to anyone looking for a car without any shenanigans. Nisar was also fantastic. Based on past experience we felt a sense of dread when transferred to the finance manager. Other dealerships put a lot of pressure to get expensive add-ons. Nisar mentioned them, but there was no pressure. What a relief! This phase of the transaction was also painless. When there was a minor paperwork issue with the insurance both of these gentlemen went above and beyond to straighten it out so we would not have any delays picking up the new vehicle. This is a smaller dealership that has a more chill vibe compared to the larger ones in the city. We actually loved that, its kind of on brand with Subaru's quirky and practical character. It also has to be said, we just love our new Crosstrek! More
You advertised a 2024 Crosstrek for $31,995 PLUS GST on kijiji and when I asked if I could buy it as I needed a car you said, Oh by the way there is another $4000 of fees, I went back to the add and it sp kijiji and when I asked if I could buy it as I needed a car you said, Oh by the way there is another $4000 of fees, I went back to the add and it specifically said $31,995 PLUS GST and zero mention of any added fees. Then your brilliant manager blamed me for not going on the website to get the proper price. How is that my fault if you clearly advertised a touring 2024 brand new crosstrek for $31,995 PLUS GST on Kijiji where you obviously have ran several adds? Your dealership has a 1.5/5 on the BBB which is all that really matters and I notice your dealership will only put the 4 or 5 star ratings on your dealershipRater? that is also misleading This dealership is exactly the reason why car salesman get a grease ball reputation because you force yours salespeople to lie or mislead or at minimum you run lost leader prices and do not honor them I will make sure every person in my network knows never to support this dealership EVER.
